It looks like the there is no real range of black, just one shade. I think it is a digital compression issue.

I saw it live on TV so I'm pretty sure it's real.

It does look Photoshopped, but it really isn't. It's just really obscure light.

I'm a photographic hobbiest, and I've had photos that look something like that before.

there is really a problem with shadows as well as light....but i'm not a foto expert,if i had to do it 2d or 3d it will be layered or composit

With our conditioning for bluescreening any picture with a blue background, particulairly that shade, tends to look fake.

It looks weird but since both shrubs were wearing black, the effect may have contributed to it's weirdness.

Well the whole election and Iraq invasion was staged in a small warehouse on the outskits of Hollywood. It also doubles as a porn studio - look closely at the news reports next time, occasionally you can see naked large-breasted women wandering past in the background - the sounds of bombing is just the usual porn sounds you get on the soundtrack but slowed down and amplified. Any outdoor scenes are done at the place where they usually did the Star Trek desert scenes).
There is no George Bush. He's just a sock puppet with buttons for eyes. When filmed from different angles looks surprisingly life-like. That's also why you never see Dick Cheney talking at the same time as Bush (though occassionally he might drink a glass of water to throw us off).

What it looks like is too strong a flash coupled with poor image compression.
