bacon, when cooked to a black, incinerated crisp, is the best. unfortunatley nobody ever cooks it (read nukes it) to perfection, so sausages will do :)

why, are you offering some bacon or sausages, Fruitless Muffins?

(damn your name! that question just sounds stupid now :p )

Screw bacon and sausage! Scrapple (http://www.foodsubs.com/Photos/scrapple.jpg) is the most awesome breakfest meat ever! Hatfield (http://www.hatfieldfoods.com/Images/AboutUs/1956.jpg) makes the best scrapple period. Just fry till brown on each side, then it is ready to be eaten. I like to put apple butter on mine. Yummy!

Good question!

I will take bacon for breakfast, by the pound...and then sausage for every other meal of the day.

Wow. Somebody actually mentioned scrapple before I could.

Impressive! :D

P.S. For those of you that don't know what scrapple is, it's the stuff that didn't make it into sausage.

My grandpappy used to make about 20lbs of the stuff every year. But he's dead, so no more gets made. I have to buy it in the market now.

I live in the states where it is extremely hard to get decent sausage so in most cases bacon. (plus I really like bacon anyways)

Bah...only a real man can handle a healthy serving of bacon grease. Can't say the same for sausages.

You should try English sausages: plenty of grease there, plus some other stuff you wouldn't want to meet alone in a dark alley. You need either blind ignorance or some courage to face a proper English sausage.

Bacon - the only thing I'm tempted by since turning veggie. There's no decent veggie alternative to it, whereas Linda McCartney sausages (no, not sausages made out of Linda McCartney) are perfectly acceptable.

Sausage. I don't care what they oput in 'em, I can't get enough of the things. And i really love natural casing hotdogs...

I don't like to see the fat I'm eating, so sausage wins out because it hides the fat.

Bacon sandwiches, converting vegetarians back to meat each and every morning of the year. ;)

On the veggie sausages side, try the Cauldron range (from Safeways/Morrisons) which taste, look smell and feel much more real than most veggie sausages.

Linda McCartney sausages are foul, tasteless pieces of veggie scraps which should never grace a table unless they're there for emergency feeding of extra guests...

Sausages, they're great on the BBQ.
