Ouch! Hope he gets better soon!

OFF TOPIC:

(Okay, these threads are getting kinda ridiculous if you ask me. Soon we're gonna have, "My Granddad Died a Proud Budhist but then Came Back to Life as a Stink Beetle")

Both my grand dads are alive.

One of them has a multitude of pills he has to take and I recently found out the other has alzhimers. :( Apparantly this has been known for years, but it took a slip during a conversation with my grandma for someone to tell me.

that is how I found out my mother had bowel cancer
my heart specialist let it slip when I found out I had SVT
she got it cut out and is fine now except for the disfiguring scar running down her abdomen

He's had alzheimers for years? o_O My grandmother lasted one year before she died. My grandfather died in his 70s. My Chinese grandmother died in her 40s of a blood clot. My Chinese grandfather just had his 90th bday.

interesing I would have trouble explaining why
1. I have a tattoo
2. I have a tattoo on my back
2. Why I have "Frank" tattoed on my back

Well, not a great number of years. Apparantly 2 or so.

However, he has always been quite active. Maybe 4 years ago he nearly amputated one of his fingers as he was ripping out the floor in their family room to replace the floorboards. They say keeping mentally active is a great way to prevent or at least postpone alzheimers.

That's a good point. That's what my mom said, too. But, it's like after he's gone there will be nothiong left of him. My dad is his only kid that still talks to him. And, none of his grandchildren come to see him except for me and my brother. I guess it would be my way of always thinking of him *laughs*.
