Hi, just wanted to welcome you to the forum. Make sure to read the forum rules...this kind of thread is a good example of a no no.

To make it legit, I will have an actual topic:)

Slavery has been banned in every nation on Earth, yet some argue it still exists, albeit in less formal terms. Someone estimated that a slave in the days of yore would have cost about $40,000 US (equivalent to, anyway), and therefore, were taken care of, much as you would an expensive car. Todays slaves are cheaper...sold into bondage, exchanged for debt and so on, and therefore of less worth, essentially "diposable", as some guy I can't remember wrote a book about:)

So I was asking the other day, what kind of thread would constitute spam, but I wasn't really able to get a satisfactory answer, anyone around got any insights?

Anti-Slavery international estimates that there is 27 million people enslaved around the world. In 1999 the UN estimated that there were 20 million slave labourers world wide.

Unfortunately, they aren't OFFICIAL slaves...it would be easier to deal with if they were...

Lula in Brazil has been sending out mobile units to free slave workers in the Amazon, so they at least recognise it's a problem.

A lot women are trafficked (bought and sold into debt slavery) as well......

Is the term slave still correct I wonder? They don't control their own destinies, they are traded like goods...
