I live in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. I need to specify this because NEWCASTLE IS NOT SYDNEY! Sydney is the place where people make stupid decisions about what should happen in their country branches, such as Newcastle. Newcastle is not country, either!
Newcastle is full of unregenerate lefties, and has been from the (white settlement) start. It was where they sent really bad, ba-a-ad convicts before they had Macquarie Harbour. It is a bit like Glasgow, except that Glasgow is gutsier, probably because Glaswegians have been persecuted longer. It is as beautiful as Glasgow, too, but in a different way; not buildings and cityscapes, but beaches and a harbour.
It is also home to loads of mad artists, actors, writers, musicians and such. That's also from-the-start. Several of the convicts sent here conned their way out of the coalmines by being artists. That's why it's one of the few places in Australia with some reasonable white records of Aborigines. The local people were, and still are, Awabakal.

Somebody says they're from Grand Rapids, Michigan.
This is not possible. Everybody outside the USA knows that "Grand Rapids, Michigan" is where people in movies come from. Like, you get the honourable, decent guy who has Fallen Into Evil Ways, and he is about to reform, and he says,"Well, I'm from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and I think it's time I.. went... home!." Or the girl who is pretending to be extremely sophisticated, and has made up a suitable past, and she's drunk at a glitterati party, and people are laughing about small-town attitudes, and she stands up on the table and says, "Well, I don' care wha' you phonies think, I'm from Grand Rapids, Michigan!" (And then she falls over.)
It's like coming from Bringabongalong, Australia. Except that you won't find Bringabongalong on RW maps. However, it's my home town; I'm a puppet nation.
West Coast, y'all. *flashes gang sign*
Born and raised just outside Los Angeles, California.
I realize the idea that someone born in LA, and staying alive long enough to be raised in the same area is illogical. But here I am....for now, at least.
Lived my whole life in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with the exceptions of Kingston Ontario, Stirling in Scotland and Ottawa Ontario for university.
