Inspired by the quest to find 'Fizzers' in another thread. Compare and contrast different sweets from when you were young(er).

Fuit Salads! The purest form of sweet, chewy and cheap. Good for you too (as they have fruit in the title). Fruit Salads (like fizzers) also have an evil twin, known as 'Black Jacks' (ewwww).

I concur completely. Fruit salads rule all and Blackjacks are disgusting. I was also fond of those lollies. I forget the name. They costed 5p and had red packaging I think.
i still get fruit salads...and blackjacks

When I was a kid, I used to love these cookies called "Lemon Coolers" ... and then they vanished. Best cookies ever.

Yes, the teacher never knew what hit him.
I'm surprised no one I ever knew was ever hit in the eye.

Chico Sticks. They're still around, but in NJ you have to go into the ghetto to find a store that sells them.
Also does anybody remember the Jolly Rancher bars? A bar of hard candy that would turn into a sugary razor blade if you sucked on it for a while.
i remember the jolly rancher sweets, but not bars
really nice though

Same great flavor in a 3" by 1" slim bar.

Those are both good. I can still find the chicko sticks almost anywhere, but the JR bars I haven't seen in a while. Only the little nugget type JR's.
When is the last time anyone saw a Mar's bar, I haven't seen one forever? :(

I still don't get why they only sell those at the chemist. Haven't been to the chemist in a while. I want some of those lollies now. Wonder what pills I could ask for so I can go buy some, the chemist is a good way away, I'd need SOME kind of excuse.

Note he said "Mar's Bars", not Mars Bars. Perhaps "Mar's Bars" are something completely different and not a spelling mistake.

It may just be a spelling mistake. Chocalatey, nuogaty, almondy goodness. They just don't seem to exist in my little corner of the world. :(

What about that Scottish snack (I forget what it is called, tablet I think).
Tablet is the sweetest stuff known to man, one bar has enough callories to sustain a man for 3 and a half days* even the diatary challenged Scots can feel the damage a block of tablet does to your body.
*Not an actual fact.

If anything your fiend is under-exagerating (if you can actually do such a thing) the power of tablet, all it is is melted sugar and butter (some recipies replace the butter with condensed milk).
