Has anyone here had a good pastor, preacher, priest, rabbi, muslim equivalent (sorry), or any religious leader who has helped them out a time of need?

We dont have a "pastor" as such at my church, but one of the people who help run our youth groups and the church as a whole, Andy Jack, is a great guy who is rearly understanding and passionate about God. He has helped me out on a number of occations with specific instances of problems. Oakhall is very thankful to have him.

The Reverend Ivan Stang.

www.subgenius.com

Of course, I'm a fully-fledged Reverend myself. My (official) full title is:

The Very Reverend Qarlo Clobregny, Church of the Subgenius (Ad Hoc Gnostic), Plenipotentiary Extraordinaire.

although HellPope Huey of Arkansas personally gave me my sainthood last year, which made me Saint Q, CoS.

I like switching between titles...

Any good pastor will help other persons as he or she is able. However, some pastors are not good pastors. I myself am the pastor of the First Reformed Church of Maxbarry and I help others all the time by bringing them the truth about the almighty Maxbarry, who is creator of this world and has gifted us with the Protection of the Mods. Praise Max!

Although they're not ordained, the Senior High youth leaders (husband and wife team) are both very cool.

Also, my dad (who's an out-of-work minister)

Yup, had several good pastors.

Like my favorite was Pastor Ang. He used to a top official in the Malaysian anti-corruption agency. Last time when we had gangsters problem threatening us for money, he called up some of his police friends to handle the problem (Which in Malaysia, some triads are above the law). Not only that, he was a war veteren and fought against the communist and protected several towns from racial killings during the racial riots of 1969. Plus he's very caring, and does a lot of visitations to sick people to pray for them.

Another person was my Youth Pastor, his ministry was reaching out to the troubled kids, especially those from broken homes, abuse, those kids inolved in drugs, triads, and other problems.

Although I didn't fit into any of the 'troubled' category, but he still was a great Pastor, especially he instilled in me the desire to live a good and decent life.

His phrase "life is as hard as it is, why do you do all these things to make it even harder?". :p

Depends, was she really a nun, or did you pay her to dress like one?

...Oh dear gods, please don't answer ;)

If there's one thing that never fails to make me giggle, it's Italian porn. The big taboo always seems to involve naughty nuns...heh.

The pastor at my church is a great pastor, in my opinion, primarily because of his great sermons. He always explains the readings in the historical perspective in which they were originally written and explains what the teachings of the Holy Church do and do not mean.

The Reverend Horton Heat makes good music for heartbroken people.
Our pastor in Herent is a really cool guy, he cares about people first and religion second. He says things like "You dont need to be catholic or even believe in God to be a good person" and really means it. As my mother was dying he helped us a good deal and later organised a oecumenic mass for her funeral as she was protestant, taking in wishes she laid out before. His nickname is "Moeder" (mother), because he cares so much for the townspeople. ;)
That being said, i am a nice guy too and happen to be ordained.

Real nun. I was in trouble for fighting, so she spanked me to teach me a lesson about not using violence.
