It is disgraceful. Not only do we rely on them everyday to either finish our schoolwork, write that birthday card or fill in that tax return but then what do some people do? They shove them up rear-end (ladies put them elsewhere). And then what happens when these poor things have had enough and can no longer work properly? We cast them aside and leave them to fester amongst our finished beer-cans, newspaper or old pizzas.

The way we treat our pens is disgusting.

I made a little house out of a shoebox for all my pens. It's a comfortable, rent-free abode where they can just chill out at the end of a long hard day.

Well, not really, but I definitely don't scratch myself with them. :)

Its just the circle of life. Pens are born into slavery, and leave as they came. I wouldn't feel bad for them. Just be careful or they may revolt, and the western world will COLLAPSE.

As long as you don't abuse them - its ok. I tuck my pencils in at night, and during the day I give them piggy-back rides on my ear!

I'm also partial to yellow highlighters. I took one to the park the other day and we got on the curvy slide together. Then off for a happy meal.

I keep my pens in the dark dungeon pocket of my backpack, where they commune with nature, my planner and my cell phone. They do not run out, they run away, typically by staying right where they are in my classroom.

I chew on pens. Or disassemble them and put them together with other pens to create Frankenstein-pens.
