A Theory of Just Distribution

"From each according to what he chooses to do, to each according to what he makes for himself (perhaps with the contracted aid of others) and what others choose to do for him and choose to give him of what they've been given previously (under this maxim) and haven't yet expanded or transfered."

or

"From each as they choose, to each as they are chosen."

These are the theories of entitlement proposed by Robert Nozick, and as they are founded upon the concept of freedom of choice, they seem just to me, how about you?

That depends on what each "chooses to do". It is possible to take from others or usurp that which should belong to others to make or do for one's self.

Well, of course the agreements are freely carried out, with both people considering what they view to be the just agreement.

Sounds like libertarian capitalism. I think the maxim you just posted pretty much sums up my political stance.

Give what you want (provided you created it or were given it/exchanged it for something previously) to whoever you want, in exchange for whatever of the other person's property is mutually agreed upon to be traded by both parties.

Just because you can convince a developmentally disabled individual to give you his source of existance doesn't mean it's a just thing to do.
