I just finished watching every episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion in a row.
Go me.
Now I'm wondering something...
Why the fuck do I like Kaoru Nagisa so much?

glad to help.
Or perhaps it's because you're an angsty young male whom nobody really understands, thus you long for the company of just about anyone willing to accept you (which would preferably be a girl, but you're so lonely and desperate that you'd take either gender).
Just a guess.

Did you watch the real ending? And by real ending, I mean the one hour movie, End of Evangelion. The ending of the series sucks.

Are you some kind of psychic?
No, seriously, I was an angsty young male a lot like that.
I am transsexual, though, so now I'm more of an angsty young woman. I thought I had left behind all of the bad things from before, but I guess they never left after all.
Just a guess.
You should be a psychologist or something.

Gah, the ending of the series makes my brain itch. I haven't gotten my hands on a copy of End of Evangelion yet though.
:(

Ah, my mistake. I guess that makes my original guess that much more sensible.
You should be a psychologist or something.
:p
It's been my experience that most psychologists are people who are totally out of touch with reality. The only reason I'd ever become one is if I could give people bad advice and mess with their heads :D

Buh?! I watched both; the ending of the series made sense; Shinji lost his identity during the series and reforges it within his own mind.
The movie...the movie falls into strange metaphysical realities that no mortal can understand. First you have a sinister organization behind NERV which creates more Eva's, piloted by...well never mind the pilots, you'll never find out who they were/are. All YOU get to know about them is that they speak ancient languages and form giant symbols in the sky, oh, and they can regenerate from death. They do all this because...well, it'd be cool to watch them die and come back, not because it really has to do with anything important.
Well, these Eva's beat the ever-lovin'-shitola outta Asuka for no reason at all, while Shinji gets his act together just long enough to end the world.
How does he end the world? I really don't know, all I know is that its done with floaty, jello-like Rei's absorbing all life on the world into one super entity that looks like, well, a huge pastey-ass Rei...
This continues until Shiji decides...something...and she bleeds to death. All of this leading to Asuka and Shinji lying on a beach; Shiji gets off his spreading behind long enough to try and kill his useless, slightly mad co-worker...until she touches her face. He dismounts, then she says a couple of words about her mood ring being Blue-ish.
...How is that movie good?

Surgery is my eventual final step. I've been on the hormones for a while already. None of these are really a goal in and of themselves, though, as my goal is to be accepted the way I am, and that's as a female, rather than the way I was born.
who do post operatives end up dating, straights will be freaked and gay men aren't really interested any longer?
Not all straights are freaked out by it. Most, it would seem, but you'd be surprised what people will accept if they truly love another.
Either way, I'm more attracted to females, and I'm already in a relationship with one. So I'm set.

I give you The Most Disturbing Conversation Ever (http://tuckermax.com/disturbingconversation.html).
Sorry. The opportunity was just too good to pass up. Don't click the link if you're under 18 and your parents are around. ;)
Actually, don't click the link if anyone is around.
You know what, forget the link. It's not actually there. Really. It's a figment of your imagination. Anything you think you might see/might have seen by clicking on the non-link is nothing more than an illusion. I swear.
The reason for so many unanswered questions is that you're supposed to draw your own conclusions from the movie. There is no right and wrong way to view it (despite the high number of spoiler sites who try to give you the "correct" explanation to what the hell was going on).

you really are what some many straight guys claim jokingly to be; a lesbian trapped in a mans body. i was listening to a show on npr about female to male transgendered people and one ended up being a gay man, he joked he was of the few people who had been at one point one all the letters in lgbt.

Did Shinji just squeeze harder to kill him?
That's what it seemed like to me.
I liked the whole scene where he's just in the Eva's hand, calm and collected, explaining why his death is necessary and why Shinji shouldn't let him go. That was so cool.

That was the coolest scene from the series. That entire episode was interesting. Now I need to watch it. That or the Cowboy Bebop I have.

Yeah, I think that's what happened and it just popped his head off [well, more so crushed everything BUT his head] which then splashed into the water, charming. It was one of the moments where I actually felt for Shinji as opposed to his usual endless whining :)

Oh yeah and I mean he WAS 14. Unlike a lot of anime and entertainment in general where a teenager is cutting off heads and slaying demons while being cool as a cucumber. Piloting an Eva would be shit scary for ANYONE, let alone a 14 year old who is essentially an introvert with no self-esteem [big loser too]. You knew Shinji was shit scared and wasn't happy about what he was essentially being forced to do. He had fair reason to complain, I'll give him that much.
