Everyone knows that Belgium has the best beers in the world.
But wich kind of beer do you like the most.
Maybe for information :
* There are only 6 Belgian trappistbeers ( 6 in the world ) :
West-Malle, West-Vleteren, Rochefort, Orval, Chimay, Achel )
* The other beers ( Grimbergen, Corsendonck, Ciney, Leffe .... )
count as Abbeybeers. So u must complain in your café if they say trappist to one of these ;). Anyway Abbeybeers are great too. :)
* BLOND BEERS MUST BE WHITE BEER. SORRY FOR THE FAULT.
but wiht my example, i guess most people knew what i mean.

There are so many! But I have to admit, I'm a big fan of pilsner style brews. :)

I had to choose two... really, it depends on the season...
I love Abbey-style beers in the winter, and nothing's better than sitting in a great pub with a pint, Belgian fries, and a pulled-pork sandwich... mmmm...
But in the summer, I love blonde beers... hefeweizens particularly, with a slice of lemon... served with shellfish (particularly lobster or crab).

Everyone knows that Belgium has the best beers in the world.
Not me, I have never even seen a Belgian beer but I have tasted many types of beers from many countrys and the one I like the most, in fact the ONLY beer I drink, is from my own country. If they don't have my beer I aint drinking beer, it's as simple as that.
But wich kind of beer do you like the most.

Go on holiday to Belgium..... and LOVE it!
My dad's Belgian, and he always boasts that the best Belgian beers are brewed by monks. I hate alcahol anyway, so I just put down that Hoegaarden, his favourite.

Belgian beers are certainly better than mass produced American beers.Mass produced beers everywhere are pretty crappy, although American ones may be some of the worst.
There are, however, some great American beers... A couple weeks ago I had "Lancaster Winter Ale" and it was lovely.

I have to go with Hoegaarden, amber ales
I'm never drinking Grimbergen again. I had it in Ghent once. I also hate Maes. Both belong to Alken-Maes. I hate those fuckers now. I also hate everything from Riva (I don't live too far away from there). Dentergems wit, Wittekerke. God, they suck.

1. Indeed Maes isn't good beer.
2. Never heard of Riva, but Wittekerke is just a pure product of tv-commerce, made for the tv-serie not for taste or tradition.
3. I don't care if 'U' does'nt exist as word , if we understand eachother is enough, this isn't an english exam and english is'nt my native language.
4. As i can see ( location : flanders ) are ''U'' a separtist, so off course u hate patriotism, u're probably a traitor and voter for the seperatistic and fascistic Vlaams (Eigen)Belang.
Seperatisme is worse than pattriotism, the French are also proud at their wines, the Scotts at their Whiskey's why shouldn't we proud at our beers, every person may love his country, their's nothing wrong with it. As long as ''U'' don't harm other countries with your patriotism, than it's ok.

Don't keep attention to it 'you forfot poland', it has something today with belgian politics. In the flemish speaking part of Belgium ( northern part ),
there is an extreme right party who want's a republic Flandern, they want to seperate Belgium. They also have racistic opinions. The problem is that that extreme right party is gaining more and more power and has now already 25% of the flemish votes. Thye become realy dangereous for our beatuiful country.

Altough I would love to see Vlaanderen separated from Wallonie, Vlaams Blok is a WAY too extreme/racist party.

Just a small point. "Whiskey", spelt with an "e", is actually Irish. Scotch is spelt "whisky", with no "e". Not having a go at your spelling, just thought you might find it interesting. The only other difference between the two is that scotch whisky is distilled twice and irish whiskey (which in my opinion is far superior) is distilled three times (american bourbon whisky is only distilled once and isn't fit to wash your windows with).

VB? Lol
No, I'd never vote VB. VB is actually the factor that keeps Flanders dependent. In fact, I hate them more than any other party. :)
Extremist Flemish nationalism has lead to counter reaction that is greater
Half-assed unionism makes even less sense to me. Two different peoples and all.
Traitor? To what? A country made up by foreign powers, between two drunken walzes at a conference in Vienna?
...But I digress. I shouldn't have brought politics into this. (Certainly not on a political RP'in board.... :P)
Back to beer...
Has anyone else noticed that Belgian beers are slowly becoming sweeter and sweeter?

Kriek is nice if you're in the right mood. The Trappist ones are the best though, if in some cases ridiculously strong. There's some good white/blond ones as well - Blanche de Bruxelles is possibly the best of them...though I might only think that as I drink far too much of it, as at least two local pubs have it on tap...mmm...think I'll go for a couple of pints now.
