often I see War news to get different coverage ...American media is slow to report some bad news...and many times they "flash" it and never repeat it...or they are hide it in the 17th page.

today Ive seen reports in the world media about Iran and Siria solidarity Vs the US menace.

so far I seen nothing on CNN or FOX about it...

have any of you seen anithing??...if possible provide Channel and Time...(TIVO)

But that is because I don't feel like fishing all that money out just so I can watch around 3 hours of TV a week. That and I'm a dirty parasitical lazy student ;)

Aha, the Beebs is pretty good, not just news, but interesting documentary type programs, fast click is great, rough science totally rocks, as does science shack, and that one (who's name I forget) where they try to construct things that were designed hundreds of years ago (but not necessarily ever constructed) to see if they can get them to work...

their dramas can be allright, but the light entertainment shows, its worse than being stamped on by golfers.
But theve outdone them selves tonight, escape from new york on bbc two, my entire day has been building up to it (sad prehaps)

We had those around a few months ago. We got letters saying "We know where you live!" (in not so many words) and a few detection vans were spotted (it is fairly obvious that they are designed to scare people, they're just so blatant). We even got a phone call saying "we know that you are watching TV at the moment"

We just sat it out though and they seemed to have crawled back into their caverns (or maybe went down south)

How do they work exaclty, have they got a phycic in the back or something, im pretty sure tv dont make that much EM radation, and they dont purposely give out any radiowaves. maybe they just run up real quick and spy through your curtains

Well we live 4 storeys up, so I doubt that the curtains theory works for us (unless Spiderman works for them).

But honestly I have no idea. Though I do know that they can detect a TV being switched on in 20 seconds (that's the only thing I can remember about the letters since they really liked bragging).

BBC World. The folks back in Britain don't get to see it, so they are probably very confused by your post.
The Beeb is great, but don't fall for the line that they are neutral. They are more neutral than CNN or ABC, let alone FOX, but at times their editing policy does exclude things of importance in the world.
They tend to focus on the ex British colonies, and the middle east in particular for their foreign news. Stories from North Africa, or South America are rare. As are stories from Europe.
The non news programs are up to the usual beeb standards, and IMHO the funniest man on TV is Jeremy Clarkson. (The dry satire is unbelievable)

The Independent also seems to be better on American news too.

The Guardian's good but there is no point buying it since the fools put the whole thing on the internet :)

Don't forget Private Eye. Very good at reporting stuff missed from other papers as well as hightlighting the bullshit in much of the mainstream press.
