Skies of Arcadia (Game Cube Game); Did you like it?

Skies of Arcadia is definitely one of the most under-rated RPG games that I've played. Seeing as its for Gamecube, its definitely overlooked. Has anyone else played it? Did you like it? What was your favorite part of the game? What part didn't you like as much? Did you like the ending?

My favorite part of the game is the airship battles that you can do against Pirates, the Valuans, and others. Also, the Most Wanted list was pretty cool, where you can battle against them, and raise your own rank as the most wanted in Valua.

Now that would be interesting...what do you propose it could be about? Maybe Fina could become the main character, and we can learn more about her, or something along those lines...or at least a big side quest of the game. There is a lot that could be done, such as the rebuilding of Valua.

Heck yeah.

Except that Skies of Arcadia is for the Dreamcast, and Skies of Arcadia Legends is for the Gamecube. The difference isn't big, but one does have Piastol while the other doesn't.

And my favourite part was definitely recruiting for the Delphinus and building/tweaking my pirate base. Pity those two things weren't worked out in more detail.

I also quite like the Aika/Fina interaction. :fluffle:

I'm currently playing the Dreamcast version, which I bought a while ago... I have just got the Delphinus. So far it's one of the best RPGs I have played, (not bad, concidering that I have played loads of RPGs. I especially like the old SNES and Genesis ones) and it seems like it might get even better. It seems pretty long too. I have played over 30 hours and I'm still on disc 1.

Thats what I like about the game... it's sooo damn long!

By the way, they cramped the whole game onto one little disk for the GC version.

I feel asleep playing FFIV its just too linear and the stories are always so silly.

I actually heard from one of my friends that the Dreamcast version of Skies of Arcadia was much better than the Gamecube version. I hear that there are a bunch of side missions that were thrown away for the GC Version. That's sad... :(

Really? I heard that there were a bunch of side missions added to the GC version, because there wasn't enough room on the Dreamcast.

I'm talking about Piastol, the moonfishes and every Black Pirate bounty that isn't Baltor or... uhm... that fat guy whose name I've forgotten.
However, the sidequest that got taken out was Pinta's Quest, because the Dreamcast used some kind of peripheral for that which the GameCube doesn't have.

My friend played the Dreamcast version a while ago, and told me that the best part of the game was Pinta's Quest. But she said that there were a few other things left out. I'll have to ask her about it.
