WARNING! (Please read!)

We have had SEVERAL people scammed by this ruse, so please be VERY CAREFUL of going to sites suggested by hotmail or other IM contacts.
The ruse is as follows: a person, pretending to be someone that you speak to IMly, tells you that they have pictures they want to show you. They direct you to this link that spoofs MSN<<http://damar1020myallpics.4t.com/home.html>> , and ask you to sign in with your hotmail password.
DO NOT SIGN IN. This gives the scammer access to your .NET passport, and s/he changes your pass. Then they can go through your e-mails at leisure and scam the businesses and friends you deal with.
We've also been told that there may be a trojan present on the page.

Whoa, there was a topic on this a few days back.
I think.
The sourcecode of the webpage is hilarious.
Umm, I'll see if I can find the topic.

Actually, Slaggy, they present themselves as someone you IM -- they've stolen other people's accounts and contact people on the buddy list.

Couldn't resist. But anyway, thanks for the heads up. I'm sure if somone reports him Microsoft will deal with him... they're a bit potty about people messing with their software.

I am stupid, I'm just severely paranoid, so it all balances out.

Technically it's not hacking; it's phishing. The victim gives the information to the miscreant.
If anyone can find the link, please post it here; my job has a weird filter that makes life difficult for me vis a vis searches.

Deutschland, Deutschland über alles,
Über alles in der Welt,
Wenn es stets zu Schutz und Trutze
Brüderlich zusammenhält,
Von der Maas bis an die Memel,
Von der Etsch bis an den Belt -
Deutschland, Deutschland über alles,
Über alles in der Welt.
Deutsche Frauen, deutsche Treue,
Deutscher Wein und deutscher Sang
Sollen in der Welt behalten
Ihren alten schönen Klang,
Uns zu edler Tat begeistern
Unser ganzes Leben lang.
Deutsche Frauen, deutsche Treue,
Deutscher Wein und deutscher Sang
Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit
für das deutsche Vaterland!
Danach lasst uns alle streben
Brüderlich mit Herz und Hand!
Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit
Sind des Glückes Unterpfand;
Blüh' im Glanze dieses Glückes,
Blühe, deutsches Vaterland.

Nothing about viruses here...
This is about a scam to get your .NET Passport's password.

Well, if it was truly through your Hotmail and you don't have a method of accessing it other than as webmail, then yes. It may be possible that the address was spoofed as you, though.
