Why are we so obsessed with the US?
Okay, everyday there are a million-and-one threads on the US in this forum. Anti US, Pro US, Europe vs US, Look What Bush Did Today, etc.
So I ask: Why are we so obsessed?
Bonus question: Will I figure out how to make a poll?

You can make a poll using the thread tools at the top of the page. There is also an option to make a poll when you start a new thread.
As to your question, America is heavily involved in world politics, so I guess it's only to be expected.

Because (though it is arrogant to say it) what the US does affects the rest of the world. We've grown our little evil tendrils out across the rest of the world and what happens here travels down the tendrils and changes them too.

the answer if pretty obveous
#1 - you foriegners naturaly have questions about America and there are plenty of American's to answer them
#2 - America is the world's undisputed heavy weight champion, their influence on and issue is a major factor
#3 - you can argue that there isn't another country remotly like us and the US constantly evolves bringing up more question about culture and policy

Either than that, their the worlds current superpower especially in terms of the economy. Heck, any country that has a big hand in the worlds economy would have some effect on the world economy, problem is US has the biggest.

We are so obsessed with the U.S. because there are mostly americans on the forum (I am one of them and not too proud of it) because most americans think America's shit doesn't stink because we have "freedom." Everyone is using the fucking word freedom! Most of them don't even understand how they're free!
sigh..... I could rant all night.
It wasn't an option in the poll and hasn't been mentioned but the US is a very interesting and paradoxical(is that a word) place, society and government.

There's a consensus that, in a world where only one nation can really kick ass, there should be a rule against ass kicking, because that means that everyone else is a potential kickee.
