Suburbs suck. They are boring as hell. Give me urban living any day. Oh, and a 50/50 split sounds good. You just can't get a breakfast of fish and grits, or a Jamaican beef patty and a root drink in a honkey neighborhood.

I'd like to live in a rural or suburban area where I am the solid (97%+) majority.

Does it haev to be one of those options? I like a private Island...

Whilst I'd be most comfortable in a suburban are with people ethnically just like me, that would lead to complacency and ignoring the outside world. Instead, I'd prefer to live in a split area.

I'd rather live outside of a city, but that's not because of the racial minorities, it's because I like places where a tree isn't considered something that only "country bumpkins" have near their homes.

I'd rather live way out in the country, and have a plane to fly into town. About a hundred miles from the nearest neighbor. Then I'd have an apartment downtown, so I could party on weekends.

I live in a ruralish area of massachusetts, my dad lives in the suburbs and its 97% white in his neighborhood, the 3% being an Asian family. Yes, I am white.

It does not work that way here. Race is really much less important here than it appears to be in the US.

There is some discrimination, but mostly regional rather than racial.

The thing is, people of different races are discriminated against here, but not nearly as much as people of different religions. Basically, you pretend to be Christian or you get a mob of redneck Jesus freaks at your door ready to burn you on the cross the first chance they get. Whoo-hoo! Fun! :rolleyes:

Where are you from? Alabama? I couldn't imagine having to live someplace where you have to deal with loud, pushy bible thumpers all day, every day.

You have no idea. When I was 7, I "accepted Jesus into my heart" for popularity points. It wasn't until I was 10 or 11 that I realized that a particular religion had been forced on me by society. That's when I asked myself, "Do I really believe in God?" and the answer was no.

I don't want neighbors. I detest urban and suburban living where you look out your window and into your neighbors. No matter where I live, all I want are civil neighbors willing to listen and compromise on community matters. Who cares if they are bisexual fat purple evangilist nudists from Alpha Centari?

I'm not really goth, I just really admire goth culture. You're entitled to your own opinion, it just reminds me of too many people I know... I feel that it sounded a bit discriminating. Whatever, though. *Tries to look as calm and peaceful as possible.*

So you're athiest? I'm an Eclectic Pagan, I never accepted the christian god... I've always felt as though paganism was true though... always held the beliefs even as a small child when i didn't know it was "frowned upon" by the majority of this hell hole of a country... Yeah right, freedom of religion...

I believe that there are probably higher powers, which are far too complex for the human mind to comprehend.

I recommend you read Nocturnal Witchcraft by Konstantinos, It talks about there being a "source" a nameless faceless being... in which holds all the "power" and we create god/dess(s/ess) with faces and certain aspects/powers to help us with a certain thing.... because we cannot just summon the source as it is...

I voted 'Don't Care', since the racial mix of a community is not important to me. While enjoy living in a place where ethnic foods are easily accessible in restaurants and grocery stores, in a perfect world I would not live in a city, even one as nice as Victoria. I would live on a rural acreage. Not a working farm, but enough space for a milk cow, chickens, rabbits, horses, garden, all that sort of thing. But close enough to the city to commute to work. Better yet, I'd telecommute.

My neighbours could be of any race or faith. All I care about is that they'd be nice and willing to help each other out if help was needed.
