Are americans really stupid?

Some areas are filled with morons. Some states are filled with fairly intelligent americans.

Basically I am a phone tech. I deal with Tech questions on stuff like blackberries, outlook, windows, even crap like reseting passwords for various apps and account problems so all sorts of stuff..

I deal with people who work for bank of america. I work for a company called EDS, in a large tech center here in calgary alberta. I also support bank of canada or royal bank.

Heres a typical call, this one is about helping a person get into a program as they were telling me the password they have did not work...

PERSON: " hi, I am having problems with the program e-buyer"
ME : "ok your password doesnt work?"
PERSON "yesi need help"
ME: "which application"
PERSON "ebuyer"
ME: are you sure its e-buyer? and not iorder
PERSON: "yes im sure"
ME: I thnk they are phasing out e buyer
PERSOM ,yellign now " not iorder am sure!!"
Manager tells her on the background " oh it is i order"
PERSON: ......."oh i guess it is i-order" ........
ME: "ok and you cant get into iorder then?" .......
PERSON: "no im in"...
ME: "but you said you couldnt get in and your password was revoked".....
PERSON "no im in".............
ME: "ok i will transfer you to someone who can help you then........" idiot

Or people telling " wow your in canada, you support computers up der! "
Me: "yes we do", " wow thats cool"

Cali seems to have the smartest peops, while areas like tenn, alabama, oko, basically the deep south are full ARE RETARDED PEOPLE!!!!

As an American myself, I must concur with the global misconception that the American public has been thrown into an era of believing startling misconceptions concerning our government and social systems. There is very much a great deal of truth in this. However, numerous citizens ardently believe in these misconceptions because they are brought up with them, and have embraced them for countless years. Other Americans are brought up with a more liberal education of looking at things through different perspectives, and these folk can better discern the truth for themselves, rather than being told what is right or wrong and accepting this as such.

All Americans are teh Stupid! We have a C student running the country and our education plan "No child left behind" sounds like it was stolen right out of war movie.

I would really appreciate if we would stop making fun of the south and midwest. They can't help it that the pig in the class sets the curve every test.

The reason you think america is stupid in that situation is this... THE IDIOTS CALL THE HELP LINES! You think the smart people would call you? Come on, your looking at the stupider people in the country and using it to rate the rest of us.

I also would rather deal with a spanish speaking person than some buttfucker from the deep south.

As peops from the deep south have a weird problem with taking instructions, they also get mad when they make a mistake and you have to correct them.

One example is when I give someone a temp password to get into some app and then the person cannot seem to type it in. I ask is the CAPS lock button on? "deeerrrr no!"

10 minutes later " oh i guess it was on yall were right"

fucking morons.

and this isnt just the tellers making $7/hour but managers. :(

In Biblical times God sent a great flood to the Earth. Noah built the Ark, and took aboard one pair of each of the animal species of the entire world.

After almost forty days afloat, you can imagine the Ark had begun to smell quite a bit. There were piles and piles of animal faeces everywhere. Noah, in his desperation, shovelled up all that shit and dumped it over the side of the Ark.

And there it stayed, until it was discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1492.

Americans stupid? No doubt about it, dear boy.

NOPE, everybody has to call us to get blackberries activated.

I hate blackberries and having to instruct some idoit that they must read the fucking instructions before calling me really makes my day sometimes though.

Basically, you have a little code at the end that you must to us, usally no one read the manual, so they dont find the code, lol

Are Americans stupid as a whole? No... Are a bunch of them stupid? Yes... I am an American, so don't freak out with the whole 'EUROTRASH CRAP' rants. Today, I was having an intelligent conversation with a friend about the Tsunami, and how it should be handled, and a guy comes up and asks,
'whats so important about the Tsunami?'
our reply: "Because loads of people died, and its causing tonsa issues in the affected countries.'
his responce: "It was only a hundred people, its not important." here, I explain that it was a few Hundred thousand. and his responce: "Its off in some remote country, and we shouldnt care"

I am serious, if people would just look into the news now and then, or maybe tune in to something more enlightened than the Simpsons, maybe we would be better off.

no, not all americans are stupid. and a lot of us can differentiate between 'your' and 'you're,' unlike many NSers who are so fond of bashing us...

while i wouldn't know if people in cali are smart, my first reaction would be to laugh. i live in illinois and there are some pretty smart people, but some really stupid shits too.

as far as foreign policy, i'm afraid our country has been taken over by six-shooter-wielding cowboys who vote their brothers into presidential office, and that is primarily why our foreign policy has gone down the shitter. at least in the past (cuba, panama, etc) our interventions reflected AMERICAN interests. i don't know what the hell we're doing in Iraq. but i'm getting off topic.

basically, no we're not all dumb, just lots of our politicians. and since that's the side of us the world sees, the world hates us. but what are ya gonna do. :sniper: :sniper: :sniper: :sniper:

No, the problem with Americans isn't really stupidity, it's arrogance. America doesn't have any more stupid people than average. (Going per capita). Many Americans are really involved in their own country, and don't take the time to learn anything about anyone else's. I was telling this to someone online yesterday, and he just laughed and said, "I guess your right, I don't even know who Canada's President is." President? I mean come on. Another example, I used to live in Ottawa, and I'd travel a lot. I don't know what it is, but Americans have this fascination with knowing where you're from, when you both know that they won't know where it is. So I get some random American asking me where I'm from in a restaurant, and I figure, well Ottawa, capital of Canada, that's pretty safe. He answers, "Oh, is that near Toronto?" :headbang: You'd think that he would have had to know that to get out of high school. How many Canadians don't know where Washington D.C. is? It's crazy; the American system is too focused on themselves.

Of course in your position you find yourself dealing with a unique sample size. As you are dealing with people who are having problems, you are far more likely to run across dumbasses.

Drawing a conclusion from data you might collect in your position is just like the psychologist who drew the conclusion that most people had mental dieseases because his sample population was his patients.

Stupid is a very vague word.

Many Americans Stupid, probably not...

Many Americans Ignorant... perhaps

I'm an american, and I do not consider myself or my personal friends stupid. Some are perhaps, a little ignorant.

But, one person's ignorance could be anothers enlightenment.

Just a thought...

the fantastic thing about our education system is, we spend a helluva lot of time learning things that we'll never need to know, yet don't focus too hard on some things that might be genuinely useful (like geography). apparently, however, neither do you. 'you are' = 'you're'

I have a theory.

Lil' John is corrupting the children of my generation.

Think about it. He appears in every damn song! Even in Beethoven's (or however you spell it) 5th Symphony, he busts out yelling "Yeah! This is Lil' John with the remix!" Therefore, if we eliminate Lil' John, we eliminate stupidity.

On a more serious note, Floridians are idiots. Foreign is not a big word, it's "gluhton" not "glooton". No we can't nuke Iraq, yes we're not that free. Lincoln was the one who freed the slaves, the North won the war not the South. It's Japan who bombed us, not China. No the Democrats aren't communists. Yes everything is actually made in China. What else?

Oh and...

Teenagers of my generation, stop whoring off!

I'm done.

LOL. Again with Americans being idiots. I was quoting him, it's not my fault my American example wasn't very bright. I had a feeling someone would notice the grammar thing and try to pin it on Canadians, but I wasn't talking about stupidity, I was telling you how arrogant the Americans I've met are. Had I been ragging on the average American’s knowledge of grammar, I would have pointed it out myself. Consider it a basic IQ test you passed. Bravo.

The post about the psychologist making generalizations about his patients is a good point. We as a society aren't stupid. If you know a lot of stupid/ignorant people, why not educate them. Are all of the doctors that don't want to pay $75,000 a year in malpractice insurance stupid? No. Did they help Bush win back his office? Yes. It turns out some people know what they want and how to get it.

First off, Lincoln didn't free the slaves. The emancipation proclamation was nothing more than a political move. Since the Confederate States of America were not the same country as the United States of America (due to that little thing call secession), Lincoln had no power to tell them what to do. He could not free the South's slaves, only the North's.

On to a more serious note, the post about the psychologist making generalizations about his patients is a good point. We as a society aren't stupid. I'm so tired of people saying we Americans are stupid. Yes some of us are and some of us aren't. And we're the arrogant one? You don't here me going around saying the Europeans are stupid.

And so what if we don't know as much about the world as some Europeans do. You have to understand, until the second half of the 20th century we had a very isolationist attitude. I believe that this led to a greater focus on our own country in education and less on foreign nations. It's hard to change the nature of something so large as the entire educational system in a country like the US. Things are changing, believe me. Much more focus is being made on the outside world.

So the next time you say americans are ignorant about the world, remember, it's alot easier to be enlightened when you're surrounded by a multitude of politically, socially, economically, and culturally differen't nations, unlike it is here in America.

Personally I view the demographics of intelligence in Darwinian terms.

First Europe got rid of anyone who couldn't pull their weight, or they just didn't like so they founded colonies on the Eastern Seaboard with landless gentry, criminals, vagrants, and religious fundamentalists. The intelligent and industrious, with few exceptions, remained behind.

Those who had the brains, diligence, or social connections to succeed in business stayed on the east coast. Those who didn't moved west. Because they left the intelligent behind you ended up with a lot of Donner Party/Oregon Trail type scenarios because anyone smart enough to say, "um, maybe we should go in springtime," already had jobs. Having weeded out the intelligent and industrious all you ended up with were the big and the gullible. That's why so much of the country thinks that high-school football is the height of culture and they think that Billy Graham is a moral leader and why the American work ethic stresses attempting and luck over actually knowing what you're doing.

The far west coast as well as a handful of urban centers have been getting infusions of fresh DNA over the generations, and Texas get's a constant influx of Mexicans into the gene pool, but on average you've seen how the intelligence spreads itself out.

Once upon a time there was a powerful nation whose influnce pervaded the world. It was largely hated by that world and yet it managed to do some good. It had a representative government that listened to its people, it tried its damndest to end the international slave trade and it fought fascism in WWII. Its people were constantly portrayed in movies and in writing as buffoons who never took the time to learn about the world and were incredibly self-centered. But today, because it gave up its empire, the UK has magically transformed into a nation informed about the world.
To paint all the people of a nation as stupid and uniformed simply because their power is resented simply points to the ignorance of the person making the accusation.
Any argument that begins with the premise that the people of one nation are on the whole stupider than the people of another nation is a distortion that serves no purpose other than to insult. People who make these arguments are small and of no consequence.

There are plenty of Americans that are stupid. However, stupidity is a universal trait. It's actually amusing to hear left-wingers talk about how "dumb" President Bush is for getting a "C" average at Yale University. This is coming after liberals have derided standard testing and grading as ineffective means of showing intelligence. Please, at least be consistent in your beliefs. Also, if you are using the SAT as a measurement of intelligence (which I personally don't use but this is for argument sake only), Bush scored a 1206 on the SAT. This was a time before 100 points was added automatically to the SAT. Therefore, Bush's SAT score was 1306. Also be aware that when Bush went to Yale, there was not the massive grade inflation that takes place in college today. (I know this because I attend an American University today and grade inflation is a real problem). Bush also has an Masters in Business Administration from Harvard University. (You can't say that Bush got into Harvard because of family connections, because George H.W. Bush attended Yale, not Harvard). So that's it. Liberals have called conservatives stupid for the past 50 years. Usually this is a good thing, because liberals are underestimating the intelligence of Republican Presidents from Eisenhower to Reagan to W.

It'd be neat to see an average IQ score for each state... hopefully such averages would be valid and reliable.

The highest concentrations of schools with the best academic reputations are located in the Northeast (Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, MIT, etc.), Upper Midwest (Northwestern, U of Chicago, Michigan, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, etc.), California (Stanford, Cal Tech, Cal-Berkeley, UCLA, etc.) and the DC/Virginia/North Carolina area (Georgetown, Duke, Virginia, North Carolina, etc.)

As for the South:

Vanderbilt is a great school right here in Nashville (Tennessee).

Rice, Texas and Texas A&M form a strong threesome in Texas.

Georgia Tech is a very good school (Georgia).

Florida is solid, as is the University of Miami in Coral Gables (not sure about FSU).

This is not to mention all of the fine small schools throughout the South.

BTW

The difference was not so much in the states... but across-the-board urban (for Kerry) vs. rural/suburban (for Bush) voting.

To all the Americans on this thread that feel wrongly accused of stupidity or arrogance/being too self involved, if you can answer the following questions correctly, what I said earlier doesn't apply to you.

What year was the Canadian Confederation?

Who is currently on the back of all our coins?

Who is our Prime Minister?

What is the statue of Westminster and what does it represent?

How many provinces do we have, and how many territories?

In what province are the following cities in:

I.Q. tests are a joke. They're a descendant of a test built to prove racial superiority (Order: English and Americans, then Scandinavia, then Europe, then Asia, then Native Americans, then Africa). Standardized testing is a joke. I've read the research. It measures how well you take tests (possibly a form of intelligence) but not how much you know or even how well (if that means anything) you think. On reading comprehension tests people of all levels do universally better without the reading (just the questions). They've found monolingual American children do better taking tests in French with test-taking skills taught then taking the same tests in English and supposedly learning the material.

There are a lot of 'stupid' people in this world but what some call stupid I call self-interest. I voted for Bush because he lowered my taxes. That's it, plain and simple. I don't like the situation in Iraq but I'm glad it's worked out as well as it has (all things considered) so far. I don't think Kerry would have pulled us out (his voting record is not good). I don't know what others have against the United States. A call for justice? Vengeance? Envy? Morality?

Well, technically, wouldn't it be exactly half?

Sure, the James Hart for congress website says that Japan's average IQ is 104, but that just means that they aren't applying averages properly.

It's like how 8 out of 10 people think that they are "above average" drivers, and 20% of the population thinks that they are in the top 3% of earners who control 80% of the wealth, or very soon will be (explains why they vote for Dubya).

I've said before that all republicans are either stupid or evil. And that Bush voters in particular are have to be both.

This clinches it. Anyone who thinks that net taxes have gone down and they are better off with the lowered federal taxes is at a level of mathematical stupidity right up there with lottery players.

So here we have the republican admission. 'I know that the world it worse off for having Bush in charge of America, but I don't care I luv my money.'

And on top of it we have him demonstrating his ignorance on how much harm is being done to those same people who pay very slightly less money to the federal government, but have to spend more and recieve less due to the lack of funding of programs and increased state taxes.

Unless of course you do earn over $500,000 per year from stock market dividends?

Perhaps I am so enmeshed in American stupidity and arrogance that I have lost all ability (if ever I had any) for objective perception, but I fail to understand why Americans are so often stereotyped as stupid, arrogant, or even ignorant. True, as some have already pointed out, the United States does have her share of stupid, arrogant, and ignorant citizens, but no more than any other country (here I am generalizing, but I sincerely doubt the existence of a worldwide census of the human psyche, so I hope I may be forgiven.)

Stupid:

The primary proponents of the "stupidity" concept seem to base their views on two issues: people who call for technological aid and the fact that President Bush was recently re-elected. As to the first, there is both the earlier expressed psychologist argument and also that simply because intelligence does not guarantee an aptitude for technology. My grandmother is brilliant, especially in the literary arts (not only did she graduate from high school at fifteen, but I've read some of her essays from that time and they're spectacular), but computers are almost completely alien to her. She tries, and has mastered simple operations, but it has been extremely difficult for her and I wouldn't be surprised if she's had to seek help from tech support when the rest of my family isn't around to offer her advice.

Second: Mr. Bush. Say what you like about him; the man still graduated from Yale University, which is hardly easy. Moreover, although a President of the United States ought to be well-educated, a good education is hardly an indicator of leadership ability. Woodrow Wilson was the president of Princeton University, and yet his unwillingness to cooperate or even consider the point of Henry Lodge and the Irreconcilables not only severly detracted from his leadership but also caused his dream, the League of Nations, to disintegrate. Mr. Kerry's defeat should not be attributed to his innate intelligence or amount of schooling, but rather to a lack of confidence in his leadership ability. It is impossible to judge who would be the better leader in the same situation, but the United States's decision to elect whom they believed to be the better -- George Bush -- indicates a level of wisdom, rather than stupidity. Whether or not she made the right choice remains to be seen.

Arrogant (with regards to individuals):

This stems, I believe, from the opinion held by many Americans that their country is better than other countries. Why is it a problem to believe your country is the best? If you believed another country was the best, and you had the opportunity, wouldn't you move? Why stay in the U.S. if your true love is Cambodia? Why remain in Ireland or Canada or Russia if you long for the U.S. or Ukraine or Namibia? (This only applies to countries that allow their citizens to move -- I find no fault with the North Korean who wants to move to China but doesn't because he fears for his and his family's lives if he tries.)

As to "freedom fries," "liberty cabbage," and all other labels of this type, they're hardly unique to the United States and are generally recognized to be either idiotic, humorous, or both by the most people. I do not believe I have ever seen someone order "freedom fries" without acting as if it were all a great joke, and certainly no one who has ordered them with firm and grave conviction.

Arrogant (with regards to the country as a whole):

If this refers to United States intervention in other parts of the world, then I heartily agree that there's too much of it. After all, we're clearly not wanted -- Indonesia's kicking us out just because we desired to help her. In that vein, why not quit the United Nations? Their insistence on using the U.S. as a bottomless pit of money and manpower is both draining and unwelcome. Then there are Iraq, Afghanistan, Colombia and the like, but unless asked to I shan't delve into those issues because this post is already enormously long.

Ignorant:

I have, of course, heard tales of people who have little or no knowledge of geography, but have yet to meet one. In seventh grade we were required to draw detailed (free-hand) maps of Europe and Africa and memorize many of the capitals -- and that was in the public school system. I live in a state renowed for its (somewhat deserved) Western cowboy reputation, and our public school system is hardly first-rate, yet most have at least a general idea of the location of countries in the world. There are few people who don't regularly watch the news, read the newspaper or at least listen to the news updates on the radio. Of course there is an emphasis on U.S. History, but that makes sense -- it's necessary for the citizens of a nation to know the history of that nation in order both to know where they came from and how not to repeat mistakes. Still, as a secondary school student I'm currently taking both Humanities (a social survey of the world) and Modern European History, and have already taken Economics (which covered not just the basics of economics but also economic systems (real and imagined) such as communism and Utopian societies) and World History. I'm hardly an extraordinary case.

Stereotypes rarely capture the true nature of something, and certainly the stereotypes of Americans being stupid, arrogant, and ignorant fail to grasp the whole picture.

The people who receive federal monetary assistance generally don't pay taxes. There is no state tax where I live.

Yes, not me individually but my family makes nearly that on the Stock Market every year.

Tax distribution. The poorest 50% of American taxpayers pay less than 1% of total tax revenue but get most of the benefits of federal programs. What programs are losing so much funding? A survey done in the poorest congressional district in America in the poorest area of that district conducted in a line at a soup kitchen revealed that most had a place to live and cable TV.

I never said the world was worse off with Bush in charge. One Middle Eastern country now has a higher voter turnout than the United States does and the people are singing in the streets on an election day. What's the problem?

And I think it is a valid counter argument, the geographical proximity, but I would wonder why such knowlege would be taught in a Canadian school if they resent us so much. I do not mean this as an attack at all but Canada has made itself irrelevant on the world stage so why would people learn about their country or culture. OK if you'd like to continue arguing, then continue using "you people" and lumping me into a group of people who annoy you. I could be a genius for all you know. I'm saying that you shouldnt make it sound like you think all people from the South are inbred idiots. Take a look at my nations page. Look at the flag and the slogan. Hell....I am making fun of the Southern stereotypical "rednecks"! I do it because I can laugh at things instead of just complain about them. Sure there are "Stupid" people in the South. But isnt that true everywhere? It's like saying everytime I speak with someone from NY or Boston that "all Northerners are rude assholes". Thats just rediculous.

Actually peops from New england are less rude IMO on the phone than peops from the deep south.

I mean one idoit even called me a stupid foreigner paky. (means a east indian)
I am white and live in canada.

I dont like making these broad statements, but actually it not that broad anymore, as i have talked to thousands of people and a majority of people from the "deep south" are idoits.

Of course some from canada, new england and cali are idoits but not in such numbers...

Only 52% of them are stupid. But it does seem to be prevalent in the south.

People only think this 'cause any time the media chooses to highlight someone in the south, they choose the dumbest, stupidest hick they can find. The Southerners you see on TV are very much a minority. Even plenty of Rednecks are smart. I know one who almost always got all 'A's. Maybe not an outstanding achievement but shows he's no moron. Plenty of the rednecks I know, while maybe not being teribly good at math, can probably take a part and reassemble an internal combustion engine inside of an hour. I've got a 4.0 at the university I'm studying at and I couldn't even begin to do that. There are different kinds of knowledge in the world, folks, and not all of it stems from a textbook. However, I would venture to say that the number of rednecks is even drastically decreasing. Bottom line, don't generalize the South, I live here, dang it! :D

I will agree with you on this one, I am an American btw. A LOT of Americans seem more Arrogant and nationalistic then people from most other countries.

Halifax
Moncton
London
Vancouver
Winnipeg

(This is actually pretty basic, most 3rd graders could get at least 80%)

Yes, you're right. Most Canadian 3rd graders probably could get that right. The reason Canadians "know so much" about the US is because we have a much more important role in international affairs. Could most Canadians tell me:

When the US Constitution was drafted?

Which presidents are on our bills?

Who our Secretary of Defense is?

What Arlington National Cemetery is?

What the last two states to join the union were?

What the biggest river in the US is?

And yet, for all your claims about stupidity... what you are ACTUALLY talking about is ignorance - an entirely different crime.

What do YOU think I should do if my "total coliform" test came back with a possible presence result?

Anyone doing my job should know the answer to that question... so, by your logic... anyone that doesn't is stupid, right?

Or was your original assertion perhaps flawed?

There's so many wide generalization in here, that I wouldn't even know where to start. Cultures in America can think in a similiar fashion, but individuals still widely remain among the gregariously-minded. It's seemly fit to note, that a man whom asserts such flawed and wholesale impurities, in words--dispelling a nation at one stroke--lacks the experience of his betters.

We Invented Electricity

Depending on what you call 'inventing electricity' that credit goes to either Michael Faraday, a British scientist, Hans Oersted, a Dane, or Ampère who was French.

And Lightbubls
That would have been Joseph Swan, another Brit. He even put Edison on trial for violating his patent - and won.

And Movies
Hmm.. that's a tricky one. The Frenchman Louis Lumiere was the first to design a practical motion picture camera and projector - but all the technology it used was invented by others. Edison definately deserves a lot of credit here, even though it was Lumieres Cinematographe that made film popular.
I think technically the American Edison has good papers here.

And Jet Planes
The first Jet Plane was a Heinkel 178, which was German.

And All Kinds Of Other Inventions.

True ;) Especially Edison was pretty active here.

I am actually surprised these things weren't covered in your curriculum..

Actually, yes. Except for the biggest river part. I don't know if you mean widest river, longest river, or most important river economically. Or the Rio Grande, since it's very name implies big. But only because between school and the media, US info is hammered into us on a constant basis. It's hard not to learn it.

By the way, I thought we already established that a pop quiz like this doesn't really mean anything, although its more valid for US/Canada than N. America/Japan, simply because we happen to be neighbours.

I am not baggin soup, its a tech line, in order to deal with peops, the person calling in should have " basic " computer skills
No no, I get it. It's only valid if it applies to you. I read your book. People who are having tech problems should be able to solve it themselves...of course if they could do that you wouldn't have a job to complain about or give you the leasure to lambast others who want to release by complaining about thier jobs.

But no, I see it. When you complain about your job it's valid-even when you group an entire nation into your little temper-tantrum. Pretty self-centric...are you sure you're not American?

They can turn them on, get through the rest of their applications and perform their jobs, just not savvy enough to navigate the minut changes. Sounds like you're a typical techie to me. "Pff. If they'd just route the doo-dah through the woo-hah and calibrate the whatzit to the PTHIRGHE standard and re-boot they wouldn't have this problem. Gah." They know their jobs, you know computers.

Still not seeing your logic here.

I was talking about the 10% of morons from the "bible belt"
Otherwise my job is pretty job. I find it ironic that I get paid pretty good to support bank of america up here in canada.

Comparing my job to baggin soup is pretty silly, as I did bag soup while going to school.

As for the tech logic, good grief dudette its not like I am getting them to change a hard drive.

Well, slugger-first of all, everyone was complaining about thier jobs, more than bagging soup.

Second of all, only people of a certain level of job are allowed to complain? Because there where proffesors and *gasp* even other techies listing in that thread.

It must be that kind of class issue for you, because I wasn't comparing the jobs. You made it a comparison. Which indicates how you treat those you feel are 'beneath you' even though you passed that way yourself. Which is why they break your eggs.

See, when people complain it is mostly about that 10%, but only your 10% that matters and can be bitched about in your little world, demanding a technical prowess in a rapidly changing technology instead of, you know, asking for some basic courtesy to those who have to serve your stuck up ass.

No, your right-it is much more reasonable to ask for tech prowess instead of courtesy...silly us.

I am an American and I agree that the average American is a complete and utter bafoon. However this is not the fault of the people in that they are not inherently stupid or beyond repair. This is much more of a cultural phenominon. Ampathy runs rampant and priorities are completly offset. Most Americans are self-involved and seek instant gratification too whatever want or need they may have. They have no long term outlook on neither their actions or the consequences of those actions. TOo include their education because learning requires time and effort it does not fit into their busy self-centered scedule. Why is this you may ask, when comparing todays American too the America of yesteryear. There are so many reasons ,but this is the one that is most appearant. Throughout history sucess has always bred decadence. Which leads too the inevitable failing of the sucess too atleast some degree. Its part of the natural process of cultures and societies. The United States is on its way too a low, its been on top for too long . Unless somethign big is done we are on a collision course with a brick wall and we are movign in fast times.

Ok, yes sometimes we do act stupid. You have to be able to read inbetween the lines with people like us. We live in a society were EVERYTHING is spelled out, and if it's even partially vauge, we sometimes tend to take advantage of it and sue the people who make the product so we won't be "middle class" and get enough money for things.

My theory is that we act stupid because we don't want to work for our money. Anyway, things like the password being revoked happens to me all the time, and out of nowhere it works. So, just be...I don't know, just try not to get mad at us. Some people are really that stupid.
