Honestly...

One wonders why you took time out of your day to post here, considering your distaste for this.

Lets face it, this was handled poorly, it's become a sham. I was up against Tink, Shaed was up against Aerou. What are the odds that both ended in a tie? If we accept that they did, then why not let it go into over time? Till some one came out with one more vote than the other?

No instead the powers that be who started this, instead choose to call a "redraw" instead of waiting for a tie breaking vote.

I now belive this whole process to be a sham, I was put up against a different person, despite the original person who I was apparently randomly picked.

This contest has lost ALL credibility in my eyes. Leave me in, take me out, whatever you so wish.

But don't claim this was a fair decision, in fact it was very poor judgement in the way it was handled. Besides, who of us really believed both match ups' ended in a tie, what exactly are the odds of that? Hmmm

I don't care at the end of the day, just some thing to think about.

I say this was a fix from the start, it's what I really believe. So I don't care if I win or not. It's a sham. The whole process of voting here or off site is BS. At least if the votes could of been counted here, there would be no dispute who and who did not win.

Let this be a lesson to us all on how to run a poll. This fell short. I don't trust the results at the end of the day and either should you.

With that said, good luck to the fix! Nor that I really care at the end of the day. It's just a stupid poll. but at least lets be honest!

Sdaeriji, not it doesn't. But no one can take these results seriously Why I ask would you stop the poll in the middle of it? Why would you not wait for the tie breaker vote? I never thought I would win, I was baffled that I made it this far given out of all left I'm the only person of the 4 who actually stands in clear position of strong debate. Of course I don't/didn't expect to win. With that said, this was bogus. Surely it was poor judgement. Yes, at the end of the day I don't care. I just wanted my thoughts known. I never expected to win, I'm the only one left who is not what we consider a spammer. I actually debate and discuss important issues. This meant nothing in the grand scheme of things. The winners were picked in advance. Myself included, If not, There would of been no private voting. We all know that.

For it to be fair, there should of NEVER been private voting! End of story! Because we will never know now. I like to say, "At the end of the day" the day is it doesn't really matter and it doesn't. We had private voting, in the "Nicest NS Guy" competition, but Maciej (Sdaeriji) and I went over everything with a fine tooth comb. We got TG's and and a few IM's but we would check with each other and make sure people weren't voting more then once. The TG's were always responded to, I let people know their vote was counted. We made sure things were fair, random drawing of the first matches, and the first few rounds were all posted in the thread, just the final four and the last two were TGed (some not all) but Maciej kept a detailed spread sheet of the votes and kept me updated through out.

Ok, so there seems to be a lot of doubt surrounding the outcome of the former match-ups, well I'd like to put some of that doubt to rest.

First of all, I'd like to thank Sanc. for all of the hardwork and time he's put into this thread in an effort to raise a little bit of fun around here (I'm as serious as a heart-attack all day at work - I can't be that here as well). I know that this has not been easy on him, and hes taken it from all sides ever since this thread has been started. Tenacious little fellow that he is though, he kept plugging along despite the level of crap hes had to put up with - crap, I might add, supplied by people this thread was meant to make happy and entertain. We all owe him a debt of servitude for trying to please us when, as was herin proven, such a goal could not be accomplished due to our own fickle nature.

There has been no action taken by Sanc. to please himself in any way, all of his efforts have been dedicated to trying to keep us satisfied. In fact the very reason he added the provision of TG and IM voting was to appease some of the people who were mad about having to make public and thus compromised votes. It saddens me to see that there could be even the foggiest shadow of a doubt cast on his integrity when conducting these affairs. I happen to know this individual as being not only very honest - but a gentleman of the highest calibre for his age.

I have therefore come to the conclusion, that it is not this thread, or it's maker that are flawed. The flaws, are in us.

In summation, I would like only to thank you for trying Sanc, that we should all learn a lesson from this. My hat... is now off to you.

No, the contest was not rigged if thats what the allusion was to - lay that concern to rest - this is a new round of voting and will have new results. If its possible try and strike this unpleasantness from your memory.

Steph, seriously. I spoke with Sanctaphrax over MSN at the time. He did *not* rig anything, nor does he have any interest in doing so. I suggested two things to him - either that he withdraw his own votes, which he declined, which is fair enough, because he has as much of a right to vote as anyone else. The other suggestion was to let it run a couple of hours longer, which he didn't think would be fair considering the other polls have ran for just as long. So he decided to repost the round. The match-ups were calculated randomly, by me, using random numbers, and I had no knowledge of who I was actually matching up.

That's unfair. He is doing this voluntarily, spending many hours upon it. Give him a break. Are you willing to give up as much of your time to this as he has?

Honestly. He's doing this out of his own free will and getting slagged for it. It happened before, and he considered giving up. It's happened again. How do you think that makes him feel?!? He's not gaining anything out of doing this at all!

I'm not saying you're a liar Sanc, in fact I don't believe you are one. However I do believe you handled all this poorly. If all of the last 4 were tied, you should of let it go into over time until each person in each group got the vote to put them over the top of the other. But you didn't.

Instead you not only closed it, you started a redraw, not only did you start a redraw but you didn't even put the same people up against each other. You switched that too. Doesn't make sense.

I know it's just a silly NS popularity contest, but really, it's the principle. To stop the contest when all 4 people left were tied to start anew against not the people they were matched up with to begin with, is a fix. Doesn't make you a liar, but it does make this contest bogus. You should of just left it till it was no longer a tie. It would of happened. You could of went into over time, just like in most games.

First of all you said earlier you believe I fixed it, yes Steph, obviously I had an ulterior motive of some sort, an evil plot to get everyone to the rounds they got to! Steph, I think you see a conspiracy in everything to be honest. You believed that Aerou's picture was fake, that this contest was fixed, you seem to see a conspiracy in everything.
I gave twenty four hours for each round, I thought that was clear from the beginning. I had debated opening it a bit longer, but for a few points.
1) It was already on P5 of general, nobody else was going to vote.
2) Tinks offered to get Norti to come in and cast the final vote, which would of course have made it rigged, and you'd have gotten pissed off again.
3) I made the rules to stick to them, not bend them because it didn't work out as planned.

Face it Steph, at the start you said you would just like to get past the first round, yet on repeated points you have attacked me and cried foul.. You claim its the principle, the way it looks to me is that you drew Shaed and thought you wouldn't get through so would start raising hell. Just my opinion.

Steph, I want to bring your attention to the previous arguments I had. With Shaed and Tinks, over my choice of nominee. Now imagine I had the chance to get someone past a round or stay back, and imagine what kinds of arguments would come in there? There are people who voted in secret, who didn't want the world to know their choices. I'd rather more people voted, with secret votes, then 6 people voting publically. Also at that point you announced you don't trust me, deny it or not, thats how it looks.
