I'm struggling not to cry right now.

I've just come through a night of nightmares and one panic attack. I'm tired, upset and Uber depressed. I'm incredibly upset... please cheer me up before I crack.

I've been having nightmares of my Death-but a painful death. I have been struggling to sleep as a result, and the panic attack happened after one such dream. I didn't tell my sister as I don't want anyone to know how bad i've gotten.

Please cheer me up before I crack.

Three men who were lost in the forest were captured by cannibals. The cannibal king told the prisoners that they could live if they pass a trial. The first step of the trial was to go to the forest and get ten pieces of the same kind of fruit. So all three men went separate ways to gather fruits.

The first one came back and said to the king, "I brought ten apples." The king then explained the trial to him. "You have to shove the fruits up your butt without any expression on your face or you'll be eaten."

The first apple went in... but on the second one he winced out in pain, so he was killed.

The second one arrived and showed the king ten berries. When the king explained the trial to him he thought to himself that this should be easy. 1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8... and on the ninth berry he burst out in laughter and was killed.

The first guy and the second guy met in heaven. The first one asked, "Why did you laugh, you almost got away with it?" The second one replied, "I couldn't help it, I saw the third guy coming with pineapples.

I have no control of the dreams, and they change every time... I die in many strange and painful ways... strangely every now and again I wake up laughing.

TIN, just looking at a dream site ...

http://www.soulfuture.com/dream_dictionary/symbols_d/death_dream_dictionary.asp

Dream symbol: death
death, die, dying, died

Interpretation:
A death within a dream usually denotes imminent or current transformation, a new birth or a new beginning
Completion, ending, finality
Something that needs to released or changed
Dreaming of the dead may suggest suppressed grief
Given that spouses serve as powerful mirrors, dreaming of the death of a spouse may symbolize dying to unwanted personal traits or aspects of self, which are usually perceived as the spouse's shortcomings
Although the interpretation of death is rarely this literal, it may indicate an actual death of someone, or anxiety about the possibility thereof

See also: bury, cemetery, coffin, corpse, crow, drown, funeral, grave, grief, kill, lily, skeleton, suicide, undertaker, wake

(ie you are not going to die, but a change is going to happen - well most of the time)

Dreams almost always are of things you either desire greatly, or fear greatly. Don't be alarmed by your subconscious' expression of these things. It happens to everybody. If you start getting panicky, do what I always do: Put on the radio, start reading comic books, and/or talk to someone on the pohone that you are good friends with.

hehe. I said pohone. Since it sounds so funny, I'm not going to correct it.

OK Here it comes. A quide to happiness! Bliss and joy!

1. Be kind. Do some small acts of kindness every day. Bigger ones every now and then too. This can be almost anything: open a door for a lady, let others go first during a rush hour, spend an hour with a lonely woman in your neighborhood.

2. Smile. Our brains can't tell the difference between a fake smile and genuine smile, or a fake laughter and a genuine laughter. So smile and laugh, eventually you feel better. Smile to other people, usually they smile back at you and voilá, two people are feeling happier.

3. Live in a moment. Pay close attention to momentary pleasures: the sunshine on your face, the smell of fresh baked bread, children playing etc. Walking in a forest always does the trick for me.

4. Take care of your body. Good physics enhance your mood.

5. List blessings. I haven't tried this one but I've heard it's efficient. Write down 3-5 blessings once a week. Things you have been thankful for during past week. Try to write different things every week. They can be both small and big ones. Like the card you got from your godfather.

In my area, I have tried going for walks. 3 times people have attempted to mug me. Of course I beat the shit out of them, but i've decided it's easier to stay indoors. I have pale skin and the sun burns me rapidly, and the children around here play... with knifes. Apart from that, I try to enjoy any momentary pleasures.

4. Take care of your body. Good physics enhance your mood.

Agreed, but often I don't feel like eating... and I only usually have 1 meal a day.

Yeah, writing is good for release. I have similar problems stemming from a different cause. Anyhoo, I kept having the same dream, so I wrote about it for English coursework. Got an A, and the dream stopped. Voila! (Obviously, most things aren't that simple... Just make sure you vent).

I once wrote a piece of poetry so dark that my lecturer burnt it and told me never to write it again... Writing it here would get me banned, so I won't bother. That and i've forgotten the 3rd and 4th verses which got it burnt.

Since then i've lost my knack to write poetry.

That's very kind but maybe you could try to do something other acts of kindness too. Regularly, like some voluntary work once a week.

I do that. I still am miserable when I am not on the PC. I just feel so alone.

Well one of the main things is to invest time and energy in friends and family. Of course it's hard but relationships seem to be the biggest factor in one's happiness. There was a great article(s) about happiness in Time (no:6) but you have to be a subscriber to read it :( These points were mentioned in the article.

Oh I'm sorry for you :( Those muggers are not doing acts of kindness. But hey, don't take it so literally. I can't take sunbaths either but I can turn my face to sun and feel the warmth for a moment.

Agreed, but often I don't feel like eating... and I only usually have 1 meal a day.

Disagree with your body. Eat 4 or 5 times a day eventhough you don't feel like it. I bet you can force yourself to eat a banana :)

No offense, mate. But maybe you should try a Pyschologist?

I've been having ALOT of the same problems as you, seeing my best friend, favorite dog and grandfather die suddenly was alot for me to handle. I kept thinking I was suddenly going to drop dead.

Three things really helped me:

1.) Pyschologist
2.) Exercise, especially long walks in a relaxing setting
3.) Philosophy

Just because this is happening to you dosen't mean you going crazy or you have a weak mind, it just means you have a more powerful mind then the average person and need to learn how to control it.

Trust me, your not alone. Not at all.

I've found that this happens alot when young, intelligent men learn they arn't immortal. It's happened to some of the greatest men in history. There is a normal life at the end of this whole thing, it just takes awhile.

Took me almost two full years to sort through everything.
