Why I Love The US of A!

I love this great land of mine for numerous reason:

1. Where else could a jerk like myself make it?

2. Where else can someone without limbs be successful in business and in life?

3. Where else can I go to a tropical beach, go to the artic, walk in a rain forest, drive through prairies and desert, ski in snow covered mountains, and live in some of the largest cities, all without leaving the country?

Where's the 'artic', Johnny?

Apparently America is 'great' because people who can't be bothered to learn or retain their schooling can go on to do well in business, regardless of how many limbs they possess.

As most of us godless non-Americans know, there is no 'artic'. There is, of course, the Arctic, but that must just be something for Europeans.

Penicillin could not be invented, like how Canadians say 'we invented insulin'.

You don't pay very much for your healthcare? Sure but let's look at your taxes. Our healthcare is still one of the top ones in the world.

America's educational budget is mostly funded through each state. Nowhere in the Constitution does it say that the Fed should fund our educations. Many states have no problems funding education.

Argentina is a mostly temperate but arid in the southeast, and subantartic in the southwest.

Now where are the tropical beaches, great lakes, artic tundra, coffee fields, sprawling plains (it's less then 3/10's the size of the US), and where are all of those Nazis hiding these days? Yup, Argentina is truely a tourist Mecca.

not true, penicillin was ACCIDENTALLY discovered when a scientist realized that a certain mold was killing all his bacteria cultures

No penicillin wasn't discovered. A mould called Penicillium was discovered by a SCOTSMAN, from scotland in teh UK to all of you self involved foreigners ;) RThis guy was called Alexander Fleming. In actual fact Joseph Lister (who also and more commonly known created and used the first anti-septic spray while in surgery, this guy was english) first discovered mould in his lab fighting off and infection, but he was busy with something else, so he missed the opportunity to save many lives. Still, his work was revolutionary enough for many lifetimes dedication.

Penicillin was first developed by a team known as the Oxford team. the team was led by Howard Florey an AUSTRALIAN during the second world war. In the team was Ernst Chain, a part RUSSIAN, part GERMAN jew, who decided he would be better off in america (good idea eh?)

And about that action film, one great american action film that I like was U-571. Not just because it was a great action film in its own right but the *add sarastic tone* the americans really did that 1. Flippin' 'eck! Us British took that one, the crew of HMS Bulldog, of the Royal Navy. Fair dues, at the end of the film, it did say that us british got a few enigmas aswell, but alot of relatives were lost in that operation, and many families were offended by the directors and producers choice on who took U-571.

you may be able to do that, but they all follow the same code. For instance, children being brainwashed from the start of school, by being forced to salute to the flag and swear aleiggance, EVERY MORNING, that is universal in your country and as far as I see, that is one way of carryin on a trend of every thing else in your countries. Also your culture is based on greed and oil, fair enough, so is ours, but atleast most of my nations population isn't clinically obese.

the one around the Iguacu waterfall, its pretty impressive. i spent a week working there one summer, helping with reforestation and suchlike. very nice place

i dont think all definitions of tundra would specify that it must be in either the arctic or antarctic circles

doesnt matter how big a prarie is, its still there - who decides whats "fun" anyway?

Populations?
Buenos Aires ~ 12 million citizens
NY ~ 8 million citizens
Miami ~ 350,000 citizens (even Belfast is bigger than that...)
Chicago ~ 10 million citizens
Philly ~ 1.5 million people
LA ~ 10 million people

Territories are not the nation.

Actually, they are. "Les departements d'outre mer" are no more separate from France than is for instance l'Ile de France, where Paris is situated. They are pretty much like Hawaii and Alaska. Non-contiguous territories. *waits for you to grasp the simple notion that nothing in the word "territory" makes anything less part of a country*

From Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Administrative_divisions_of_France):

"4 overseas regions (régions d'outre-mer): Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Martinique, and Réunion, which have the same status as metropolitan regions (as much as Hawaii has the same status as a continental US state), each of these overseas regions also being an overseas département (département d'outre-mer, or DOM), with the same status as a département of metropolitan France."

From Wikipedia: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%E9partement_d%27outre-mer)

"As integral parts of the French Republic, they are represented in the National Assembly, Senate and Economic and Social Council, elect a Member of the European Parliament (MEP), and also use the Euro as their currency.

Since 1982, following the French government's policy of decentralization, they have elected regional councils with powers similar to those of the régions of metropolitan France."

And if you want deserts and antarctic conditions, look no further than Les Terres australes et antarctiques françaises.

It looks to me like you have no idea what you are talking about.

Los Angelos does not have 10 million people it had 3.7 million in 2000 census and I doubt it jumped to 10 million in 4 years. If you are counting all tthe suburbs it would excede 10 million. You also have to remember Americas cities aren't as big anymore population wise because were goingh through a period of suburbanization. I love America because of many reasons. We set the example for democracy for the modern world. Our system has worked great and I love the 2nd amendment. We are a melting pot of many people and cultures. We tolerate religion, ethnic backrounds and of course captialism. We had many bumps in the road in the past to perfect our system and we will continue to do so. I love to pay tribute to our flag every morning and pay tribute to my country. It isn't like your forced to say the pledge you have a choice. I love this country because it has given so many groups of people a chance to be free and pass on the American Dream which comes in many forms. Sorry for the long post now tear it up if you like.

American's don't need a passport to go across the Canadian Border, just as Canadian's don't need one to get across the American Border. The Canadian/USA Border is the largest unprotected border crossing in the world.

It also takes a hell of alot longer then 2 minutes to drive from the bottom of BC to Alaska. CIA World Fact Book says, "(Canada is) somewhat larger than the US." So it is natural to assume that it would be a trek to get to Alaska. Not to mention there is no direct route to take. You are actually looking at a near 26 hour drive once you cross the border, and that would only get you to that long stretch of cost Alaska takes, not even to the intresting parts.

Canada also has the things that were listed in the first post in this thread. British Columbia alone has Snowy Mountains, Rain Forests, a Desert, Small towns and large cities.

Okay, so Canada is missing a tropical beach... But that can change soon and the British Virgin Islands, and another Island in the caribbean has expressed intrest in becoming Canadian Provinces.

And that is why I love Canada, and I love the USA. Regardless of the Politics that people hate the USA for, we live in two amazingly stunning and beautiful countries. Hey, I also love the fact that if I want to goto a tropical beach, our countries have such good relations, that it isnt much of a hassel to do so in the US :)

You Europeans should just stay away from us too, as we like carjacking and robbing your sorry asses.

If you dont chill out, youre gonna get deleted one day. I think its time we began that process of me turning you into a Care Bear, like I was talking about earlier today. Currently, youd be "Is Mean-A-Lot Bear"

Chill out. Ha, I guess you didn't read what I responded to.

BTW I can't chill out, I'm really high strung. And what I said was full of truth. Think of the German tourists in Florida. ;)
