I've been away at teacher conferences for the past couple of days, and I fell like it's been years...no really, I miss the pissing matches...er...I mean, debates! Pathetic, I know...and I have another couple of days to go before I can throw myself back into rant mode:(. Oh well...

I don't know about you, but I think of school as work...you just don't get paid for it.

your school district is much more open than mine, anywhere the kids could possibly chat is block off of the whole district system. whenever you try to go to a site for the first time, its always anyone's guess if you'll be able to get through. don't even get my started on trying to load new software into one. i've never tried to log in from school to NS it would almost have to be blocked, which is too bad because i'm not really teaching, i just monitor kids taking online classes so i really have plenty of semifree time during my half days.

I'm not doing traditional teaching right now...online stuff mostly, and it's BORING! Too much time on my hands...
i'm momitoring online spanish half days, i'm only an emergency substitute(who is only allowed to be in one position 3 weeks, this is my 95th or 96th day). they can't find any qualified spanish teacher in the entire state who will come to this rural highschool for half days, but the district won't hire a full time teacher unless they are cross certified. its a classic catch 22, and the spanish program here has been crippled. when i stated they had 60 students in the program, when they finally got an online class set up 9 weeks later we were down to 11, now there are 8.

Bored, let me tell ya! I almost ducked out of a presentation to hurry down to a local internet cafe and start a rant thread....but my boss was sitting behind me. Couldn't get away!

How weird...I'm the lead Spanish teacher in my district (well, in the whole province for distance ed)...small world, no? You could always sign on with us and use our program... ;)
