And the word privacy is seriously undermined, because Republicans are always yelling and screaming about there second ammendment rights but when Bush puts out the Patriot act they really dont seem to care. Let me stress something to the Republicans, you may not think that guns kill people but rather that people kill people. Well, maybe you could find out what the number one murder weapon in the US is, a gun, or human hands.

the number one murder weapon in the US is a gun in human hands.
There, corrected!

But I agree with you. I've noticed that most Republicans think that the only freedoms worth defending are freedom from taxes and freedom to own a gun.

If they had enough privacy, they could have guns too. Just not legally.
Conversely, I guess you can defend your privacy with a gun.

Another problem is Republicans say Bush is a conservative because he cuts taxes, but the main purpose is to cut govt. SPENDING not taxing, and Bush is spending more than any President since FDR, and possibly more.

Guns don't kill people...

People with guns kill people. :D

Not that I don't like my 2nd Amendment. Oh, and Swimmingpool, as long as the populace is armed, the government cannot take away our constitutional rights, because there would be a revolt. A successful one.

Im fairly sure that God could shoot a shit load of people if he felt like it, although his status as imaginary might interfere with his ability to purchase arms.

The really sad thing is that its easier to get a gun than to get a car. Thats not only sad but scary.

And for the people who say "Even if there were no guns the same people will get killed by the same people just not with the same weapon."

Yeah, I'd like to see a drive by knife throwing.

But the government can take away freedoms if they population votes to give them that authority (I'm thinking those 11 gay marriage bans).

I'd prefer to keep my privacy, my guns, and more of the money I've earned.
I wouldn't trust the Republicans to help me out much on any of these fronts, besides the gun part.

The right to own a gun and a right to privacy are not mutually exclusive. Beyond that if the Patriot is so horrible and allows for so many violations of privacy why are there no news stories detailing the injustices that have been committed on Americans?

Gang warfare, ie, drive by shootings, would not stop, seeing as their guns are illegaly obtained in the first place...

In my neighborhood I can't safely walk the streets at night, or even in some places by day if I'm walking alone. I live in England, where getting a gun involves difficult smuggling, thus many of the local thugs own no firearms. A knife kills you just as much as a gun does, and you can easily climb out of a car to stab someone.
