Fully set in no less. Two Fs and I couldn't care less. Anyone else get this way?
Or better yet, can anyone cure it?

So are you referring to avolition (lack of motivation) in school?

You could just do your work.

Think of your future!! Do you want to be rich, important, famous, having a say in the World? Never be satisfied with whatever you get unless its an A!! Do you hear me? Anything else is bad!! Ask someoen to punish you if you get bellow an AS!!
Geesh...I'm sounding like my mom.

no known cure - you just have to figure out coping strategies. i've had a rather severe case since 2nd grade, and i'm in graduate school at this point.

Copying? Are you crazy? You don't learn a thing and its risky.

I have it big time
I had two f's,
then I transfered to a lower level class and pulled a low c, at least in english
and the other one I actually did my work and pulled a B, in AP Bio
And I actually pulled an A in Physics and government
and calc is jsut sort of Hah, I'm here

I got an F in Multivariable Calculus and Advanced Topic for the quarter and I don't care either. But then I don't graduate. Been there, done that, worn the fancy hat.
Just take pride in individual pieces of work. Sometimes you can't be bothered but if that's only 1/5 essays it's not so bad.

So, judging from the other responses, I take it I was correct. I am actually the same way, the cure I've had is that I'm now attending a private school that is helping me cultivate skills to cope with this type of thing. I get all A's on my tests and exams, but E's (or F's if you prefer) on the grade for the class because I never do any work. I just pay attention in class and do independent research, and already know everything. By the end of last year, I was just thinking "Hey, y'know what? Fuck this." I was in a special programme that only had 50 in each grade, so I got a superior education but more work. I am doing much better now, but still have a ways to go in the whole responsibility thing.
Also, you should make sure you're not depressed. Depression was, for me, a very large motivation remover.

i've had it since the 4th grade. got an f on just about everything i've ever done, and talked them into passing me. my junior year, with an astounding 5 credits i was kicked out for bad attendence (about 40 days into the school year i had missed about 25, and i was late for about every day i was there.) point being, your not alone, and your doing just fine, its only a brief lazy stint.

I found a good way is to just sign up for the retard classes and sleep, then when it comes to test time its simple and easy to pass even with out doing any of the class work.

Never had the problem. Parents paid me for As when I get them. Worst grade was a C- in Sewing (I'm Australian).

eh, not depressed, at least not to the crippling point. I just don't care about my work.

If you don't get it out of your system you could be like me, stuck in college because you realised that a failing grade or two is NOT the end of the world, no matter what you were taught as a kid. I should have graduated this semester, but, no, I have two more after this... You can only try and convince yourself that the sooner you get it done, the sooner you can go on with your life.

You might not be cripplingly depressed, but that could be part of your avolition.

I think 'senioritis' is a very American term though.
I mean..once you get accepted into College/uni you don't have to get decent grades...crazy!
I'm in third year university. I'm feeling quite crushed by the workload right now. (For instance I spent roughly 24 hours on a single lab report... one of 8 for this class) I'm more or less just exhausted and burnt out and I want to do nothing more than sleep. :(
You have senoritis? I just got accepted into all my colleges and have basically been told. "Just don't fail ALL of your classes" by the colleges. <kicks back and parties>

I know exactly what you mean. 33 ACT, 3.6 GPA, and my only answer to my dad when he asked why I'm failing Physics and AP Lit is "I got bored." It's almost depressing how much I don't even care...

Ok, bad idea, but yeah, it's probably not going to get any better. I just got worse when I hit college.

My advice:
Find a rich dad with oil conections- all the way to the presidency for you man, WAY TO GO!!!!!!!
Or, more practical advice-
Start drinking heavily.
(Just a joke really, I hated engineering classes but I pulled through them. Find something you enjoy doing outside of work and take pride in that.)

Yeah, I do that too. I got two Fs in high school and one in college. Actually, I was only a senior for one of those, but the courses were equally meaningless for me. I guess you could say I've had senioritis since the middle of first grade.
What should you do about it? Honestly, there probably isn't anything that you can do. As long as you feel that avoiding the consequences isn't worth the effort, you're not going to do your work. So, you need somebody to either alter the consequences or alter the work that is expected of you. Some teachers are very accommodating. I had a few professors who agreed that homework scores shouldn't be able to lower my grade. Others would let me do fewer, more challenging problems.
I think that I would have been a lot better off if I'd received my education at home.

Your college said don't fail all your classes? The college that admitted me more/less told me that if I don't maintain my GPA I'd lose my scholarship. I hate senioritis. :( .

Senioritis it tough to beat.. i came down with it my sophomore year of high school and it grew worse till my graduation in 2000. I had a 1380 on my SAT's, a 165 IQ, and my report card, if you read the grades aloud, went "FAAFFAFA" for 2 years. Very simply, I had gotten wicked lazy.
A few words of advice for you: I'm only a few years out of high school.. senioritis (for me anyway) set in cause I was bored. Get involved in something! Take classes with friends who do well, and ask them to stay on your case! My thing was music, I love it, I took every music class and extracurricular activity my school had. Focusing on what I really enjoyed helped me deal with how much I hated my other classes. My girlfriend at the time helped too.. no action if I couldnt get me work done on time ;)
High school is pretty lame but recruit some friends to keep you on point and you'll be so much better off when you get out. Just keep in mind that high school is a bunch of hoops set up for you to jump through.. when you get to college, you get to pick your own hoops and jump wherever you want, BUT its alot harder to do what you want if you blew off your high school classes.
Shrug off the bad grades you already caught and hang in there!
