I think the end of the world is coming!!! probably in a few billion years when the sun explodes or something?!?!

Jehovas Witnesses said the world was going to end something like 20 years ago. They seem to be avoiding that subject now. Wonder why?

Mayans predicted that's when the world would end. Actually, I don't remember the specific day, but it was late December of 2012.

People have been saying the world is about to end for thousands of years. The truth is, pretty much whatever scale of possible disaster happens, at least SOME people are going to survive.

In the event of a worldwide nuclear winter, I expect plenty of people would take to bunkers and grab a few plants and the like to survive.

In the event of an environmental disaster, the level of pollution will bear direct correlation between the population of the world and of their level of technology. If everybody's dying from radiation and running around pillaging on the streets, nobody's going to have the time or inclination to keep pumping bad stuff into the environment, so the pollution will stop.

The only "proper" end of the world which could actually destroy earth and everything on it is the end of the Sun's natural life-cycle, at which point it will swell and consume the inner planets, including Earth. That's not going to happen for several million years at least, and I strongly suspect that by that time humanity will be able to just piss off to another planet without much trouble.

I don't know how much you guys know about Nostradamus, or if you've even heard of him. Even if you haven't, and you've been to church a couple of times and heard the description of the end of the world, you will understand where I am coming from.

Nostradamus was a pre-Christ era philosopher (500 BC I believe). He wrote a book and in it he put encoded descriptions of events to happen for the next 2500+ years. He has described everything perfectly. He knew that he could see past the curvature of time, but did not want the attention that would draw to him if he were to prove it to the public. Therefore, he wrote this book not only encoded, but also with no sense of time.

He did this so that people might still believe that they had a choice as to what happens in their life. He knew when and why he would die. Just the same, he knew when the world was going to end.

Nostradamus predicted September 11, 2001, 4 years to the day early. Yeah, you might say, well that just means he's four years off and a phony. You cannot honestly tell me that if you were a plain clothed man in 500 BC that you could predict Kennedy's assasination, which is what this man did. He said in his book that "The two great towers will fall from the sky."

He encoded his book so that you wouldn't know what was coming next, but if you were to read it, it would make perfect sense. Scholars have studied his text for many centuries, trying to predict anything and everything from horse races to who was going to win the Space Race. So far, most scholars that have studied his book agree that the world will end sometime in the year 2028.

Nostradamus predicted 9/11, and in that prediction is a verse which states that there will be 27 years of bloodshed, then Christ shall return. Honestly, how could a man predict Christ could come at all if he lived in 500 BC? Unless he knew something we don't.

The world will essentially come to an end in 2012 when the Yelllowstone Caldera erupts. The Chinese I Ching, the Myan Calendar, and ( if you believe some ) the Bible Codes, as well as ( some alledge ) Nostradamus all indicate that 2012 is the year. I plan to build a huge bunker on the most geologically stable formation on earth ( the Uwahrrie Mts. ) and ride it out. :)

I have read lots of books about Nostradamus, and in all of them, there are predictions up until the year 3,000 and something, well past the date when people think he predicted the world's end. In fact, the editors of all those books say that he never actually foresaw the end of the world, he just couldn't see further than that 3,000 something mark. He did supposedly predict September 11 and he said it would lead to war between the Muslim and Christian worlds that would last for 50 years. At the war's end, there would then be a time of total peace for 30 years, ushering in a new age. I don't know if i believe him or not, but it is definitely interesting stuff to read. Though most of his predictions were vague, a few, like the death of Henry II, were eerily exact.

Althought I might just add that Britian don't have any nukes in silos, they're all on Vanguards (a class of submarine).

I agree, unfortunately. I have read his book and I did not find a passage that says anything remotely close to the false claims that the Internet produced. Although, I am wondering where everyone is getting this December 23, 2011 and 2012 stuff. I also apologize for misleading everyone, rather making a fool out of myself, for claiming Nostradamus as a pre-Christ philosopher.
