Downtown Oklahoma City almost had that happen to them. Luckily it disipated before it hit there. I don't even want to think about that.

Where I normally live (that is, when I'm not at the University) We get hit with microbursts. Knocked out our power for 14 hours but nothing really bad.

As for tornadoes, we're not prepared to handle it like Tornado alley is. The tornado sirens in Tornado alley are the same ones we use for our Volunteer Fire Departments.

It's okay, this thread has had little on topic for a long time. And ya know what, that's okay, and I can say that, cause I made it.

I loved it. I'll have to save it. My roommates were born in Corpus Christi, but lived in Kansas most of their lives. We argue about whether Oklahoma or Kansas is the worst place to live.

Too close to call ... that's why it's part of the "Great Fuck All". :D I've been to Kansas and, well, I remember a lot of corn ... miles upon miles of continuous fields of corn broken up only by someone trying to pawn off what they thought was "true barbecue".

The only worthwhile thing about either place is the occasional tornado and, well, those are jut damn cool ... but nothing - and I mean nothing - will ever beat a south Texas thunderstorm for sheer awesomeness.

I have friends in California and I went to visit them once and the weatherman said some rain was coming and everyone seemed to be completely baffled as to what to do. I shrugged and said, "Well, it's rain." Then the rain started. It rained for all of 15 minutes that barely got the ground wet, but half the state still slid away in the mud.

We had a storm here three nights ago that dumped 3.5 inches of water in less than 10 minutes and still the streets did not flood. I ran around outside in it. Yummy!

The culture here drives me nucking futz, and everyone seems to think that the culture is a vital part of the religion, and that they are the same thing (both incorrect). The culture here drives me nucking futz, and everyone seems to think that the culture is a vital part of the religion, and that they are the same thing (both incorrect).
