Why the "EGAD!" for under 5' 2"?

I'm under 5' 2", which is perfectly normal for a woman of my height. *nods*

6 foot lying down flat - that is somewhat abnormal.

My three older children were my wife's by her first marraige. Their biological father's mother was about 4'6". So both of my older daughters are under 5', and my older son is 5'1". Doesn't seem to have bothered them much, since all three are kind, compassionate, intelligent and moderately successful. :)

Not where my older son is concerned. People just naturally gravitate toward him ... particularly the female variety. :)

Now, however, I know who will understand when I bitch about movie theater seating and the fact that vehicle driver seats only go back "so far" and that jeans manufactorers seem to think that if your legs require a 36, then your waist must logically be a 50+.

A conversion chart for our friends who use the infinitely more sensible metric system.

Under 5'2"--Under 157.4
5'3"--160
5'5"--165.1
5'7"--170.1
5'9"--175.2
5'11"--180.3
6'1"--185.4
6'3"--190.5
Over 6'5"--Over 195.5

(What may have thrown you, Haken, is that each foot is 12 inches. So you have to multiply that out before you do the conversion.)

Yeah, being 5'10" never stopped me from wearing heels - and in the past, I've had pairs that were up to 4" (just over 10 cm) tall.

I think my highest pair now is about 3.5" (almost 9 cm).

Of course, I'm a girl, so some of those issues are just as difficult for me because I'm a lot taller than the average girl, and only slightly taller than the average guy.
