Who here likes P.J. O'Rourke? As a fellow journalist and satirist, I look up to him a lot

P.J. O'Rourke is a funny man (there was a piece I read a while back on the Democratic Candidates' Stump Speeches, it was amazingly funny.)
I read his work occasionally in the Atlantic Monthly, but I have not read too much...because I don't have a suspcription to the Atlantic Monthly (by the way a well written but liberal publication...though P.J. O'Rourke is defintely not to my knowledge of his work...that is liberal.)

I bought his "Bachelor Home Companion" for a friend of mine. It made me laugh so hard that I kept it.

I follow some of the housecleaning tips, too. For example, instead of washing the dishes, just buy cheap dishes at Goodwill. Then when they're dirty, dump them in the sink with a box of Jello and hot water to cover. When the sink is full, add more Jello and a big pot lid with a handle. Then, when the whole thing is firm, pull out the whole mess by the handle on the lid and bury it in the back yard. Repeat as necessary.

I like his books a lot, although I should really try to read more of his work in the magazines. But most of all, he never fails to crack me up when he is a guest on "Wait, Wait, don't tell me" on NPR

O' Rourke's books are great. I don't think many people here in the UK have heard of him, which is a shame.
