Why is it that I care what other people think? Why do I try to persuade the creationists and intelligent designists? This isn't a question of why I attempt such an impossible task, but why I even care. Shouldn't I just try to increase my own knowledge and express my opinions when they're wanted among those who care?

My guess is that your believe in your convictions, and because of that, feel the need for others to see the light.

if you are doing this in real life where no one ever debates religion, you are being obnoxious and should stop it (just as you wish those JW guys would stop knocking on your door)

if you are only doing it HERE, its because in theory the people who read it and debate you back want to do so. so there is nothing wrong with sharpening your responses to typical creationist arguments.

I've never argued evolution in real life. However, there are other things as well. Since I love arguments, I often get into them with other people. But those are typically more factual and less with beliefs.

Extremely intrguing, I must say! I would have come up with that eventually anyways, since apparently it originated in The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins, which is very high on my to-read list. Dawkins comes up with a lot of mind blowing concepts, though. Thanks!

I live in the USA, I'm an atheist. I have never been accused of being a terrorist. Maybe you should get your facts strait before posting such slander.

If you're at all like me, you can't stand the idea that there are people out there who just plain have the wrong idea... that believe something you feel is absolutely true.
