...the situation gets so bad, you find yourself saying

"I know! I'll just fail the exam!"

like doing it on purpose makes it any better...

...like i just said...

uni blows sometimes :headbang:

add your own if this thread doesn't die in a horrific fireball of death first (if it even gets any views...).
thanks to all who distract me from my impending uni-doom ;)

Skip class for a whole week cause you are sick of your major (and are sick from being on NS instead of sleeping)

Don't go to lectures, adopt a 'just in time' revision schedule, turn over the exam paper and realise you were using last year's exam timetable to schedule your revision. And that it's changed since then.

An "Oh, bugger" moment.

'schedule' revision? what is this schedule thingy?
it better not be anything like planning....

i like revising at the last minute ;)

Eh, the planning I can take, it's all just abstract patterns as far as I'm concerned. It's the revision I cannot take, hates, bores me to tears and beyond, despise, detest, makes me want to knaw my leg off in frustation, hacks me off ....... . I guess I just don't like it. The only plus side to it is that my floors got washed. (My revision was mostly in pre-internet days - we had to make our own distractions in them days.)

lol the internet makes the best distraction when doing anything! ...especially revision :)
personally, i cant stand the revision either - bores the shit out of me - but because i cant/wont/hate planning even more, it comes down to revision usually starting within a couple of days of the exam. i tell you, that panic is great motivation to actually get the revision done :p

Just remember the golden rule of unnatural study patterns. If you're in an altered state of conciousness when you revise, you should replicate that state in the exam. So, if you're seriously sleep-deprived during your revision, don't get a good night's sleep before the exam. Alternatively, if you take speed to stay awake to revise, you should be speeding for the exam.

Seriously ... there have been studies - it's all in the brain chemistry.

*Thinks*

However, you might want to check it out for yourself before acting on this advice. It is based on half remembered magazine articles and student folklore. Not necessarily the most reliable sources.

Well are you in a state of half-remembrance right now? That's good enough for me if you are.

And so another day that might have been wasted on academic study fades gently away, to be replaced by another day ..... wasted. :D

You know you're boned when you don't turn up to classes/exams or hand in the assignments, because you have depression, and you can't go and sort it out because speaking with people scares the hell out of you.

When you finish an exam in 30seconds because you realised all you knew was your name and id number

or

you get 98% for an exam and fail the subject because you did none of the assignments during the year and the exam in worth 50% of your final grade

Your teacher's speaking some strange dialect, and you haven't understand a single word she says. And you just realise you've been going to the wrong class for the whole semester.
