Should Prince Big Ears Be King

Should Prince Big Ears be allowed to become King, now he is going to marry Miss Horse's Ass?
Should he do the honourable thing like his Uncle and step down?
In fact do we even need a royal family? Who are they anyway apart from the distant relatives of the biggest hardest bastards around from centurys ago.
Why should they hold such priveledged positions, looking down their noses at the population who through no choice have to pay for them.
Is it time they were abolished? :sniper:

Hahahaha you crazy brits and your monarchy. Should he be king? Sure why not, I kind of doubt it would change anything at all for anyone, anywhere.

They can be removed if the people want it, many countries have done away with Royal Families.
No doubt all the Royalist will start with the "They bring in the tourists" excuse, but come on ...people come to see the heritage and the buildings, they don't see the "Royals". Thats like saying people don't visit other countries because they don't have a Royal family.
Why should the population pay for something they don't want or need

Apparently alot of people still want it, granted they want it for the tabloid stories but thats besides the point.

Why won't the Government put it a referendum to see if the majority want to keep them?
I think they know the answer and are afraid to do it

I couldn't care less one way or the other whether they're there or not, but I think in 2002 with the Jubilee, it was shown in a number of polls that the majority of people wanted the monarchy to remain in Britain. Do you think that could really have changed so dramatically in two-and-a-half years?

As for Charles specifically, I feel the only people whose business it is whom he marries is his and his future wife's. For me, it's a non-issue in relation to whether he becomes King or not. I didn't like Diana, but granted, he and Camilla treated her like shit. However, other couples who committed adultery are allowed to remarry (and often in the Church, if they show to a sufficient degree that they're remorseful about the circumstances of their marriage break-up). So I don't see why the rules should be different for him, just because some outdated divorcee/monarchy precedents exist.

Did what we did to Charles I escape your notice? (Of course, we then invited Charles II to take the throne, but we can at least learn from that mistake).

Hell yeah he should be allowed to.

Imagine how quickly all the nay-sayers will want the Euro when his ugly mug appears on our money!

I think that the Greeks did the right thing. When the army putched, the royal family were the firsts who left the land. After the junta regime was crushed, there was a voting if the king of Greece should return or not. The people vote with NO, and since then he hasn't return and will stay outside Greece for the rest of his life.

Am I the only one who is slightly alarmed by the fact that the wife to be of the future king has the name of one of the most famous vampires? I've been saying that the royal family and the aristocracy are just a bunch of blood sucking freaks for years, but this is all a bit too much supporting evidence for me.

My country of Australia will certainly not allow Prince Big Ears to become the King of Britain; we'd rather have him die before the Queen herself dies. If he does become king, then Australia would almost instantly become a republic. Mind you, his mistress has no chance in the world of becoming a Queen of Britain, since she's not allowed to become the Princess of Wales(that belonged to Di :D ), so we're stuck calling her the "Duchess of Cornwall".

Whislt I think Charles wouldn't make a good king at all, his son William certainly is an eligible candidate; the thought of King William III sounds so much more promosing.

Charles will be King because he's no coward, he will live up to his resposibilities.

And if you ask me we should have a referendum to keep the government. All political parties are full of corrupt power seeking nerds. We should return all power back to King Charles, he's more common sense than Labour, the Conervatives and the Lib Dems. Just like his Dad!

Vote King Charles!

How long will Charles be in power anyway? He's 56, goddammit, and it looks like Liz isn't about to cark it anytime soon. So even if he ascends to the throne, he'll probably won't last long anyway, then the crown will go to Will.

You know that if either of Camilla's children from the Parker-Bowles marriage are Charlie's and this marriage goes ahead then they are next in line for the throne.

If William becomes King, I think it'll be William IV, or even V. i can't be bothered to find out which.

Imagine how quickly all the nay-sayers will want the Euro when his ugly mug appears on our money!
He'll appear on our Euros as well, 'cos countries have designs specific to them.

Also, I think the monarchy should be downscaled. That's my treason.

I have it on good authority that Charles won't live long enough to take the throne...

Yes, that's right, the Queen has the same doctor as the Pope. She's half cyborg now; she's got another 500 years left in her yet. Charles, on the other hand, was banned from visiting this doctor because he kept touching the nurses, so he's got another 20 years at best.

Parliment COULD vote to bankrupt the royal family, which will effectively make them go out and get jobs.

Just as an outsider looking in; if I were a Brit, I would be SUPER annoyed at being forced to spend millions pounds every year to support a family of deadbeats.

Extremely hilarious though that would be, it says here (http://www.royal.gov.uk/output/Page389.asp) that Parliament gets to veto the succession. They'd probably veto the Parker-Bowles bastards.

Incidentally, the link shows a Mrs Paul Mowatt as 36th in line to the throne but no Mr Mowatt. I want to know:

a) who she?
b) how come Paul didn't make the cut? Poor chap. :(

I'd be super annoyed at having to engage in the ludicrously nationalistic holidays of America every year, but Americans seem to love them. Outsiders can't understand something like this. The majority of people, funny though it may seem, support the continued existence of the monarchy. For the time being, at least.

The fact is if governement stopepd their funding it wouldn't matter one bit. The british taxpayer contributes a few pence each to have the royal family but they give back much more to the economy.

I have quite a few friends in other countries and most of them say that they wish they hadn't got rid of their monarchies. The main reason is that it makes the country different to all the others. If we got rid of the monarchy we'd just be another boring old country in the ranks of the world.

Charles, he's more common sense

COMMON SENSE!!! from a man who talks to trees? from a man who has a beautiful young wife, but would rather go with an old horses head? from a man who looks at Harry and thinks he is his father? Get real, with all the inter-breeding in the royals there are a few chromasomes missing from the lot of them.

I thought his problem was more about being only too ready to make that decision? He never wanted the one he had at the time, and rather fancied trying something new.
