An army of cloned Libertarians!
Yes. Millions of them. They'll demolish the government...then immediately disband their army, citing a massive budget deficit due to the lack of taxes. Chaos will ensue. ;)

America is pretty screwed, I agree...
Better education, subsidized need services, more R and D, more corporate accountability, a tighter budget, a different tax system for corporations....
Basically, we need some Lokiaan economics. :)

I haven't noticed, but what would really help is Clinton back in office. No offense to G.W. but it seems like he has his head up his ass. The economy is down, national moral is slipping, so how do we fix that? A war with Iran!!1

America is mired in settling for mediocrity. We need to go back to our idealistic roots of freedom for all. There are too many rich special interest groups now who have too much power over average joe american. W preaches on and on about freedom yet I feel like I've lost so much hope in equality, justice, and general freedoms since he's been in office. It's really disgraceful.

Hey, did you hear that condeleeza rice visited russia, warning them to become a democracy?
We need to fix the mess we made in other countries, stop making new ones, take all that spare funding for the military(once theyre out of Iraq) and put it toward better use, for the general good, not just the fortune 500. I have to say thats going to take quite a few liberatarians. Or, we could keep going like this, blow up the world, and start all over. That works too

Whats it going to take to rebuild America?
America needs to wean itself from her dependence on oil.
This will cause the growth of a whole new industry and reliance on environmentally friendly fuel sources. This will afford America cleaner air and reduce the number of deaths due to pollution and reduce health costs to those that suffer from poor air quality. This also translates into higher productivity.
With her dependence on oil lowered, America can withdraw her troops from the Middle East, and end her imperialistic advances.
America can than cut the size of the military budget in half and use those funds to strengthen the infastructure of the country, which will greatly improve the quality of life for her citizens.
Then comes the task of modifying the "capitalist" mindset that has swung too far to the right in the US and is truly only beneficial to the small minority that own/control most of the country.
Next, universal health care and improved accessability to higher learning will improve the physical and mental health of the country and make her stronger.
Well at least those are my thoughts on the topic......
NOT going to happen though. :(

much better education and we need to pay public techers more (only says that cause I'm a teacher lol) but seriously we do need better education.
Just to pick on this one point... education budgets per student in the US have tripled in the past 30 years (and that's inflation-adjusted). This is true for all levels of education. Federal spending on college education has increase something like eight-fold. Meanwhile, test performance on standardized tests has gone down, in some cases quite substantially.
How much more do you want to spend on education? How much lower do test resutls have to get before we conclude we are doing something very wrong?
Just wondering.
(btw I have some good ideas about what it is we're doing wrong and where the money is going, too. but I'd like to hear your response first)

An invasion by Asengard is what it will take. Outlaw consumerism and beefburgers! Bring back food portions that can be eaten without waste or a 50" waist.
Teach people how to walk instead of relying on cars which just exercise their tippy toes.
And teach people that the usage of crack cocaine, paedophilia, prostitution and gangland killing just isn't funny!

Put me into power, I'll gain the total backing of the armed forces (after major reforms are done), sweeping reforms with immigration and citizenship laws, economic reforms, trade protectionism laws, foreign policy isolationism laws, domestic morality laws.
Give me absolute power, and America would be great again, in less than a decade. Crime would be nothing compared to the plague that it is today. Of course a lot of people would probably be disappearing, but that's the price of the Stalinist style policies I'd be carrying out.
Anyway, it'd only be temporary as after things are better, ideally, I'd hold elections.

Libertarians, with a better foreign policy than the fuck the world one they have now.
Eh?
The Current National Platform of the Libertarian Party, re Foreign Affairs (http://www.lp.org/issues/platform/iv.html), is to quit fucking over the world.
IV. Foreign Affairs
American foreign policy should seek an America at peace with the world and the defense -- against attack from abroad -- of the lives, liberty, and property of the American people on American soil. Provision of such defense must respect the individual rights of people everywhere.
The principle of non-intervention should guide relationships between governments. The United States government should return to the historic libertarian tradition of avoiding entangling alliances, abstaining totally from foreign quarrels and imperialist adventures, and recognizing the right to unrestricted trade, travel, and immigration.
