Charles and Camilla to wed

So at last in a few weeks time these two lovebirds will marry. Polls show a warm contentment at Charles marrying Camilla but a lack of support for him being King and even less support for Camilla being his Queen. The titles she shall be given are Duchess of Cornwall and on Charles being King, Princess Consort rather than Queen.

My view on this is that the monarchy's moves towards modernisation have proved disatrous for it. The fairytale wedding, in the case of Diana and Charles with the beautiful blushing bride was a sham especially as Charles was already in love with Camilla. I feel the monarchy should be a rock on which stability reigns. Talk of passing over the crown from HM Elizabeth II to Prince William rather than Charles is I feel mnothing but populism and the long term damage to the monarchy may well prove more extensive than any short term popularity surge. I therefore support this announcement and on his accession feel Camilla should be Queen as that is the legal, constitutional position! What do you think?

As to the thread,

How are the Princes reacting? Besides that, I think he could've done better but then, I'm not british so wed away Charles.

I'm not too bothered, and it's not like Charles will be king for very long anyway.

I don't care. I mean, why should anyone give a tiny rats ass about an inbred bunch of unemployed idiots who get paid millions for being a figurehead. I can see one possible benefit to the people of the UK - increased tourism. Other than that it's just concentration of wealth and income in an area of fools who can't find their arse with both hands.

Yes. I hate archaic monarchal systems that much.

When was the last time a King and Queen ruled together anyway? William & Mary?

What those two do is a complete irrelevance. They are of no consequence.

As potential future monarchs of the UK and the commonwealth they are anything but irrelevant or inconsequential.
