I'd have to say somthing by 'Ian Dury and the Blockheads', if you listen to 'Reasons to be cheerful' or 'Clevor Tervor' or even'What a waste' or 'hir me with your Rythem stick.' They are absoloutly incredable lyrics.

Under darkening thundering towering skies
We live through these painful days
Walking like strangers in streets of damnation
Under the enemy's gaze
Well we all create monsters, come back for their masters
The prices the Devil reclaims
It's funny I never thought I'd be the one who would change

Now above and beyond the roofs of our city
The sunset spreads silent and gold
And we passing the time not thinking about you
Lost in our own little world
Well the other night we put the radio on
When we ran out of things we could say
But it always play lovesongs when you're far away
Forget all the lies, forget all the trouble
Forget all the things that I've done
And please believe like I still believe
The best is yet to come, the truth is yet to come

So damn all the world, damn their demands
And all the things that they say
'Cause they always play lovesongs
When you're far away

Cracking lyrics. :)

Speaking of old Cohen, he has lots of good songs, heres one:

I finally broke into the prison,
I found my place in the chain.
Even damnation is poisoned with rainbows,
all the brave young men
they're waiting now to see a signal
which some killer will be lighting for pay.

Into this furnace I ask you now to venture,
you whom I cannot betray.

I fought in the old revolution
on the side of the ghost and the King.
Of course I was very young
and I thought that we were winning;
I can't pretend I still feel very much like singing
as they carry the bodies away.

Into this furnace I ask you now to venture...

Lately you've started to stutter
as though you had nothing to say.
To all of my architects let me be traitor.
Now let me say I myself gave the order
to sleep and to search and to destroy.

Into this furnace I ask you now to venture...

Yes, you who are broken by power,
you who are absent all day,
you who are kings for the sake of your children's story,
the hand of your beggar is burdened down with money,
the hand of your lover is clay.

Into this furnace I ask you now to venture...

The hour's approaching to give it your best,
and you've got to reach your prime.
That's when you need to put yourself to the test
and show us the passage of time.
We're gonna need a montage.
Ooh it takes a montage.

To show a lot of things happening at once,
remind everyone of what's going on;
and in every shot show a little improvement
'cos to show it all would take too long,
that's called a montage, ooh we got a montage,
Ooh we got a montage

In anything if you want to go,
from just a beginner to a pro,
you need a montage,
Even Rocky had a montage.

*guitar solo with piano...and drums*

In anything if you want to go,
from just a beginner to a pro,
you need a montage.
Ooh it takes a montage.

Always fade out in a montage...
If you fade out it seems like more time has passed in a montage.
Montage!

Or The End of An Act (Pearl Harbour sucked, and I miss you)...basically any of the songs from Team America...

I don't care if it rains or freezes
Long as I got my plastic Jesus
Sittin' on the dashboard of my car

Comes in colors pink and pleasant
Glows in the dark 'cause its iridescent
Take Him with you when you travel far

Git yerself a Sweet Madonna
Dressed in rhinestones sittin' on a
Pedestal of abalone shell

Goin' ninety I ain't wary
Long as I got the Virgin Mary

The Doors - The End

This is the end, Beautiful friend
This is the end, My only friend, the end
Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes...again
Can you picture what will be, So limitless and free
Desperately in need...of some...stranger's hand
In a...desperate land
Lost in a Roman...wilderness of pain
And all the children are insane, All the children are insane
Waiting for the summer rain, yeah
There's danger on the edge of town
Ride the King's highway, baby
Weird scenes inside the gold mine
Ride the highway west, baby
Ride the snake, ride the snake
To the lake, the ancient lake, baby
The snake is long, seven miles
Ride the snake...he's old, and his skin is cold
The west is the best, The west is the best
Get here, and we'll do the rest
The blue bus is callin' us, The blue bus is callin' us
Driver, where you taken' us
The killer awoke before dawn, he put his boots on
He took a face from the ancient gallery
And he walked on down the hall
He went into the room where his sister lived, and...then he
Paid a visit to his brother, and then he
He walked on down the hall, and
And he came to a door...and he looked inside
Father, yes son, I want to kill you
Mother...I want to...fuck you
C'mon baby, take a chance with us X3
And meet me at the back of the blue bus
Doin' a blue rock, On a blue bus
Doin' a blue rock, C'mon, yeah
Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill
This is the end, Beautiful friend
This is the end, My only friend, the end
It hurts to set you free
But you'll never follow me
The end of laughter and soft lies
The end of nights we tried to die
This is the end

...You must die I alone am best!
I hope ya flip some guy the bird,
He cuts you off and you're forced to swerve,
In front of the Beatles' tour bus,
A Bookmobile and a Mack truck,
Hauling hazardous biological waste,
The light turns red you have no brakes,
And "Hard Copy" gets it all on tape,
So you can see the look on your face,
...Die Die Die Die Die Die Die!,
...Die Die Die Die Die Die Die!

I hope your Pinto begins to spin,
Takes out a disabled Vietnam Veteran,
Mows down a Nobel Peace Prize Winner,
And maybe some orphans having Christmas dinner,
Perhaps even the British Royal Family,
And the Rabbi that's clutching the bottle-fed puppy,
And we can't forget the newlyweds,
And those Jerry's Kids are as good as dead,
I hope this helps to emphasize,
I hope this helps to clarify,
I hope you die!

I hope your cellmate thinks he's God,
But C.N.N. refer to him as "Bowling Ball Bag Bob",
Serving time again for abuse of a corpse,
Only this time the victim's a Clydesdale horse,
While he masturbates to photos of livestock,
He does the "Silence of the Lambs" dance to Christian Rock,
Eats feces and quotes from "Deliverance",
And fights with his imaginary playmate Vince,
...Die Die Die Die Die Die Die!,
...Die Die Die Die Die Die Die!

I hope he grins like Jack Nicholson,
And forces you to play a game called Balls On Chin,
And whatever happens next is all a blur,
But you remember "fist" can be a verb,
And when you finally regain consciousness,
You're bound and gagged in a wedding dress,
And the prison guard looks the other way,
'Cause he's the guy ya flipped the bird the other day,
I hope this helps to emphasize,
I hope this helps to clarify,
I hope you die,
...I hope you die!

"The Unforgiven" by Metallica because it's an epic, so to speak, albeit a short one (only 6 1/2 minutes) but it tells the tale of a boy grown up and living a life not worth living until he finally dies, a tired, broken, and lonely man.

"Reach for the Sky" by Social Distortion is a powerful song too. It's something that everyone can probably relate to. Hell I'm only 21 and I relate to it particularly because when I was younger I never did think about a future, now I'm 2 semesters from graduation with a B.A. and I haven't the faintest clue what to do.

I'm a fan of quite simple, poigniant lyrics like Gladys Knight - The Way We Were:

Hey you know everybody's talkin' about the good old days
Everybody the good old days
The good old days
Well, let's talk about the good old days
Come to think about it
As bad as we think they are
These will become the good old days of our children
Why don't we try to remember
The kind of September
When life was slow and oh so mellow
Try to remember
And if you remember
Then follow
Why does it always seem the past is better
We look back and think
The winters were warmer
The grass was greener
The skies were bluer
The smiles were... bright
Can it be that it was all so simple then
Or has time rewritten every line
And if we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me
Would we?
Could we?

Memories like the corners of my mind
Memories
Misty watercolor memories
Of the way we were
Scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another
For the way we were

Oh can it be that it was all so simple then
Or has time rewritten every line
And if we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me
Would we?
Could we?

Memories may be beautiful and yet
What's too painful to remember
We simply choose to forget
So it's the laughter we'll remember
We'll remember
Whenever we remember
The Way We Were...

EYES OF A STRANGER by Queensryche
Music and Lyrics by Chris DeGarmo & Geoff Tate

[ page ]: Dr. Davis, telephone please. Dr. Davis
Dr. Blair, Dr. Blair, Dr. J. Hamilton, Dr. J Hamilton

All alone now
Except for the memories
Of what we had and what we knew
Everytime I try to leave it behind me
I see something that reminds me of you
Every night the dreams return to haunt me
Your rosary wrapped around your throat
I lie awake and sweat, afraid to fall asleep
I see your face looking back at me

And I raise my head and stare
Into the eyes of a stranger
I've always known that the mirror never lies
People always turn away
From the eyes of a stranger
Afraid to know what
Lies behind the stare

Is this all that's left
Of my life before me
Straight jacket memories, sedative highs
No happy ending like they've always promised
There's got to be something left for me
And I raise my head and stare
Into the eyes of a stranger
I've always known that the mirror never lies
People always turn away
From the eyes of a stranger
Afraid to know what
Lies behind the stare [Lies behind my stare]

How many times must I live this tragedy
How many more lies will they tell me
All I want is the same as everyone
Why am I here, and for how long

And I raise my head and stare
Into the eyes of a stranger
I've always known that the mirror never lies
People always turn away
From the eyes of a stranger
Afraid to know what
Lies behind the stare

What about this from the movie King Arthur?

The Song of the Exile

Land of bear and land of eagle
Land that gave us birth and blessing
Land that called us ever homewards
We will go home across the mountains

We will go home
We will go home
We will go home across the mountains

We will go home, singing our song
We will go home...

Hear our singing
Hear our longing
We will go home across the mountains

We will go home
We will go home...

My vote:
Shane McGowan (Pogues). He is a real poet:

Boys From County Hell
On the first day of march it was raining
It was raining worse than anything that I have ever seen
I drank ten pints of beer and I cursed all the people there
And I wish that all this raining would stop falling down on me
And it’s lend me ten pounds, I’ll buy you a drink
And mother wake me early in the morning

At the time I was working for a landlord
And he was the meanest bastard that you have ever seen
And to lose a single penny would grieve him awful sore
And he was a miserable bollocks and a bitch’s bastard’s whore
And it’s lend me ten pounds, I’ll buy you a drink
And mother wake me early in the morning

I recall we took care of him one sunday
We got him out the back and we broke his fucking balls
And maybe that was dreaming and maybe that was real
But all I know is I left that place without a penny or fuck all
And it’s lend me ten pounds, I’ll buy you a drink
And mother wake me early in the morning

But now I’ve the most charming of verandahs
I sit and watch the junkies, the drunks, the pimps, the whores
Five green bottles sitting on the floor
I wish to christ, I wish to christ
That I had fifteen more
And it’s lend me ten pounds, I’ll buy you a drink
And mother wake me early in the morning

The boys and me are drunk and looking for you
We’ll eat your frigging entrails and we won’t give a damn
Me daddy was a blue shirt and my mother a madam
And my brother earned his medals at mai lei in vietnam
And it’s lend me ten pounds and I’ll buy you a drink
And mother wake me early in the morning

On the first day of march it was raining
It was raining worse than anything that I have ever seen
Stay on the other side of the road
’cause you can never tell
We’ve a thirst like a gang of devils
We’re the boys of the county hell
And it’s lend me ten pounds and I’ll buy you a drink
And mother wake me early in the morning

Six more times slide in your eye, you think you're innocent, innocent
Pull back and assess the skinned sky, to see your innocence, innocence

Use just once and destroy, searching for answers, you'll never employ
Complete, become your vision now, it's the same as I am

It's just true incest now, deceive your sins again, you're innocent
Reflect the hate in your eyes, convex your down, concave you're in again

Use just once and destroy, searching for answers, you'll never employ
Complete, become your vision now, it's the same as I am

Just to see this love plan!

Hit reset, reset, time and time again
Hit reset, reset, time and time again

Sweat drenched hands, is it blood, fuck who cares?
I can not help the joy I'm feeling
Hurting you, you're beautiful when you cry
If you loved, you'd understand the way
Clever thoughts withstand and sway against your pain
I can't give, a thing, your way, to believe in, to believe in your heart
I'm sorry for this now but I have to hurt, I have to kill you

Cold am I
I'm beside myself
Because there's no one else
Have I grown
So blind
Only god could save you
If you knew your way to the light
So fly away
And leave it behind
Just stay awake
There's nowhere to hide

I see you
Cause you won't get out of my way
I hear you
Cause you won't quit screaming my name
I feel you
Cause you won't stop touching my skin
I need you
There coming to take you away

Frail and dry
I could lose it all
But I cannot recall
It all wrong
Don't cry
Clear away this hate
And we can start to make it alright
So fly away
And leave it behind
Return someday
With red in your eyes

I see you
Cause you won't get out of my way
I hear you
Cause you won't quit screaming my name
I feel you
Cause you won't stop touching my skin
I need you
There coming to take you away

I see you
Cause you won't get out of my way
I hear you
Cause you won't quit screaming my name
I feel you
Cause you won't stop touching my skin
I need you
There coming to take you away

Jethro Tull, Wind up

When I was young and they packed me off to school
and taught me how not to play the game,
I didn't mind if they groomed me for success,
or if they said that I was a fool.
So I left there in the morning
with their God tucked underneath my arm --
their half-assed smiles and the book of rules.
So I asked this God a question
and by way of firm reply,
He said -- I'm not the kind you have to wind up on Sundays.
So to my old headmaster (and to anyone who cares):
before I'm through I'd like to say my prayers --
I don't believe you:
you had the whole damn thing all wrong --
He's not the kind you have to wind up on Sundays.
Well you can excomunicate me on my way to Sunday school
and have all the bishops harmonize these lines --
how do you dare tell me that I'm my Father's son
when that was just an accident of Birth.
I'd rather look around me -- compose a better song
`cos that's the honest measure of my worth.
In your pomp and all your glory you're a poorer man than me,
as you lick the boots of death born out of fear.
I don't believe you:
you had the whole damn thing all wrong --
He's not the kind you have to wind up on Sundays.

And to the Republic for which it stands, I dip it in kerosene, and stick it up the ass of you know who and light it
One nation, under God--or else
One nation, under psychopath Pentagon gangsters, whose idea of democracy is concentration camps for the people who go and use the drugs that the government supplies themselves
One nation, under Wall Street:
If the cops and the President are all criminals, I might as well be one too, ha ha!
One Nation of tabloid robots who actually believe what they see on tv, but when asked about it say “I don’t care.”
One nation, drowning in its own garbage
Indivisible from the fall of Rome
With liberty and justice for all who can afford it

Not by sons of senators sons of senators sons of senators sons

People just ain't no good
I think that's well understood
You can see it everywhere you look
People just ain't no good

We were married under cherry trees
Under blossom we made our vows
All the blossoms come sailing down
Through the streets and through the playgrounds

The sun would stream on the sheets
Awoken by the morning bird
We'd buy the Sunday newspapers
And never read a single word

People they ain't no good
People they ain't no good
People they ain't no good

Seasons came, seasons went
The winter stripped the blossoms bare
A different tree now lines the streets
Shaking its fists in the air

The winter slammed us like a fist
The windows rattling in the gales
To which she drew the curtains
Made out of her wedding veils

People they ain't no good
People they ain't no good
People they ain't no good

To our love send a dozen white lilies
To our love send a coffin of wood
To our love let all the pink-eyed pigeons coo
That people they just ain't no good
To our love send back all the letters
To our love a valentine of blood
To our love let all the jilted lovers cry
That people they just ain't no good

It ain't in their hearts they're bad
They can comfort you, some even try
They nurse you when you're ill of health
They bury you when you go and die
It ain't that in their hearts they're bad
They'd stick by you if they could
Ah but that's just bull, baby
People just ain't no good

People they ain't no good
People they ain't no good
People they ain't no good
People they ain't no good

or

When you were here before
Couldn't look you in the eye
You're just like an angel
Your skin makes me cry
You float like a feather
In a beautiful world
And I wish I was special
You're so fuckin' special

But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo.
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here.

I don't care if it hurts
I want to have control
I want a perfect body
I want a perfect soul
I want you to notice
When I'm not around
You're so fuckin' special
I wish I was special

But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo.
What the hell am I doing here?

She's run run run running out...

Today is filled with anger, fueled with hidden hate
Scared of being outcast, afraid of common fate
today is built on tragedies, which no one wants to face
Nightmares to humanity and morally disgraced
Tonight is filled with rage, violence in the air
Children bred with rutlessness, cause no one at home cares
Tonight I lay my head down, but the prerssure never stops
Knowing that my sanity, content, when I dropped
But tomorrow I see change, a chance to start a new
Built on spirit and of heart and ideas based on truth
Tomorrow I wake with second wind and stong because of pride
I know I fought with all my heart to keep my dream alive

Nick Cave: Hallelujah

I hold this letter in my hand
A plea, a petition, a kind of prayer
I hope it does as I have planned
Losing her again is more than I can bear
I kiss the cold, white envelope
I press my lips against her name
Two hundred words. We live in hope
The sky hangs heavy with rain

Love Letter Love Letter
Go get her Go get her
Love Letter Love Letter
Go tell her Go tell her

A wicked wind whips up the hill
A handful of hopeful words
I love her and I always will
The sky is ready to burst
Said something I did not mean to say
Said something I did not mean to say
Said something I did not mean to say
It all came out the wrong way

Love Letter Love letter
Go get her Go get her
Love Letter Love letter
Go tell her Go tell her

Rain your kisses down upon me
Rain your kisses down in storms
And for all who'll come before me
In your slowly fading forms
I'm going out of my mind
Will leave me standing in
The rain with a letter and a prayer
Whispered on the wind

Come back to me
Come back to me
O baby please come back to me

Jeff Buckley: Lover, you should have come over

Looking out the door
I see the rain fall upon the funeral mourners
Parading in a wake of sad relations
As their shoes fill up with water
And maybe I'm too young
To keep good love from going wrong
But tonight you're on my mind so
(You'll never know)

I'm broken down and hungry for your love
With no way to feed it
Where are you tonight?
Child, you know how much I need it.
Too young to hold on
And too old to just break free and run

Sometimes a man gets carried away,
When he feels like he should be having his fun
And much too blind to see the damage he's done
Sometimes a man must awake to find that, really,
He has no-one...

So I'll wait for you... And I'll burn oh
Will I ever see your sweet return,
Oh, will I ever learn
Lover, you should've come over
'Cause it's not too late.

Lonely is the room the bed is made
The open window lets the rain in
Burning in the corner is the only one
Who dreams he had you with him
My body turns
And yearns for a sleep that will never come
It's never over,
My kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder
It's never over,
All my riches for her smiles when I slept so soft against her...
It's never over,
All my blood for the sweetness of her laughter
It's never over,
She is the tear that hangs inside my soul forever
Maybe I'm just too young
To keep good love from going wrong
Oh... lover you should've come over...
'Cause it's not too late...

I feel too young to hold on
I'm much too old to break free and run
Too deaf, dumb, and blind
To see the damage I've done
Sweet lover, you should've come over
Oh, love I waited for you

Lover, you should've come over
'Cause it's not too late

Elliott Smith: Angeles

Someone's always coming around here trailing some new kill
Says I seen your picture on a hundred dollar bill
And what's a game of chance to you, to him is one of real skill

So glad to meet you
Angeles

Picking up the ticket shows theres money to be made
Go on and lose the gamble thats the history of the trade
You add up all the cards left to play to zero

And sign up with evil
Angeles
Don't start me trying now
Cos I'm all over it
Angeles

I could make you satisfied in everything you do
All your secret wishes could right now be coming true
And be forever with my poison arms around you
No one's gonna fool around with us
No one's gonna fool around with us
So glad to meet you

Come on come on
I see no changes wake up in the morning and I ask myself
is life worth living should I blast myself?
I'm tired of bein' poor & even worse I'm black
my stomach hurts so I'm lookin' for a purse to snatch
Cops give a damn about a negro
pull the trigger kill a nigga he's a hero
Give the crack to the kids who the hell cares
one less hungry mouth on the welfare
First ship 'em dope & let 'em deal the brothers
give 'em guns step back watch 'em kill each other
It's time to fight back that's what Huey said
2 shots in the dark now Huey's dead
I got love for my brother but we can never go nowhere
unless we share with each other
We gotta start makin' changes
learn to see me as a brother instead of 2 distant strangers
and that's how it's supposed to be
How can the Devil take a brother if he's close to me?
I'd love to go back to when we played as kids
but things changed, and that's the way it is

[Bridge w/ changing ad libs]
Come on come on
That's just the way it is
Things'll never be the same
That's just the way it is
aww yeah
[Repeat]

[2]
I see no changes all I see is racist faces
misplaced hate makes disgrace to races
We under I wonder what it takes to make this
one better place, let's erase the wasted
Take the evil out the people they'll be acting right
'cause both black and white is smokin' crack tonight
and only time we chill is when we kill each other
it takes skill to be real, time to heal each other
And although it seems heaven sent
We ain't ready, to see a black President, uhh
It ain't a secret don't conceal the fact
the penitentiary's packed, and it's filled with blacks
But some things will never change
try to show another way but you stayin' in the dope game
Now tell me what's a mother to do
bein' real don't appeal to the brother in you
You gotta operate the easy way
"I made a G today" But you made it in a sleazy way
sellin' crack to the kid. " I gotta get paid,"
Well hey, well that's the way it is

[Bridge]

[Talking:]
We gotta make a change...
It's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes.
Let's change the way we eat, let's change the way we live
and let's change the way we treat each other.
You see the old way wasn't working so it's on us to do
what we gotta do, to survive.

[3]
And still I see no changes can't a brother get a little peace
It's war on the streets & the war in the Middle East
Instead of war on poverty they got a war on drugs
so the police can bother me
And I ain't never did a crime I ain't have to do
But now I'm back with the blacks givin' it back to you
Don't let 'em jack you up, back you up,
crack you up and pimp slap you up
You gotta learn to hold ya own
they get jealous when they see ya with ya mobile phone
But tell the cops they can't touch this
I don't trust this when they try to rush I bust this
That's the sound of my tool you say it ain't cool
my mama didn't raise no fool
And as long as I stay black I gotta stay strapped
& I never get to lay back
'Cause I always got to worry 'bout the pay backs
some buck that I roughed up way back
comin' back after all these years
rat-tat-tat-tat-tat that's the way it is uhh

Saw the gap again today,
while you were beggin' me to stay.
Take care not to make me enter,
'Cause if i do we both may disappear.

I will choke until I swallow...
Choke this infant here before me.
What is this but my reflection?
Who am I to judge and strike you down?
But you're pushing and shoving me.
You're pushing me and shoving me.
You still love me, still love me,
pushit on me, pushit on me...

Rest your trigger on my finger,
bang my head upon the fault line.
Better take care not to make me enter.
'cause if I do we both may disappear.
But, you're pushing me, shoving me.
You still love me, still love me
cheated me, pushit on me.
You're pushing me and shoving me.

Slipping back into the gap again.
I'm alive when you're touching me,
alive when you're shoving me down.

But i'd trade it all
for just a little
peace of miiiiiiiiiiiiiiind.

Pushit on me!
Pushit on me!
You're pushing,
and shoving,
and scrambling,
keep my feet flat on the ground!

I am somewhere I don't wanna beee...
Pushed me somewhere I don't wanna bee...
You put me somewhere I don't wanna bee...
Seeing someplace I don't wanna seeee...
Never wanna see that place agaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain.

Saw that gap again today
while you were begging me to stay.
Managed to push myself away,
and you, as well, my dear.

If, when I say I might fade like a sigh if I staaaay,
you minimize my movement anywaaaay,
I must persuade you another waaaaaaaaay.

pushing, shoving,
pushing, shoving,
pushing me
There's no love in feaaaaaaaar!

Staring down the hole again.
Hands are on my back again.
Survival is my only friend.
Terrified of what may come.
Yeah. Remember I will always love you,
as I claw your fucking throat away....
It will end no other way...
It will end no other way...

Tool - Pushit

I love the veiled threat. The tone of the song is completely at odds with the message, especially when they trick it out on Salival. Love that shit. Most Tool lyrics are just vaguely poetic Leary references, but he just does it so well...

Sorry about the draaaaaawn ouuuut words in the lyrics. I'm too lazy to edit them all out. Blame the useless fucks at azlyrics.com.

Manson has alot of tight lyrics. The dude is wierd, but he's damn good at what he does.

"I went to God just to see...
And I was lookin' at -me- Yeah!
Saw Heaven and hell were lies, ohh...
When I'm God everyone Dies."
The Reflecting God

I think 'Beautiful People' was a weak ass song. Always have. One of their worst.

DSL in three days. I'm gonna go apeshit on the Manson.

You think you're gonna to live your life alone
In darkness, and seclusion...
Yeah, I know
You've been out there, tried to mix with those animals
And it just left you full of humiliated confusion
So you stagger back home and wait for nothing
But the solitary refinement of your room spits you back out onto the street
And now you're desperate
And in need of human contact
And then...
You meet me...
And your whole world changes
Because everything I say is everything you've ever wanted to hear
So you drop all your defenses and you drop all your fears
And you trust me completely
I'm perfect in every way
'Cause I make you feel so strong and so powerful inside
You feel so lucky...
But your ego obscures reality
And you never bother to wonder why things are going so well...

You wanna know why?

Cause I'm a liar
Yeah, I'm a liar
I'll tear your mind out
I'll burn your soul
I'll turn you into me
I'll turn you into me
Cause I'm a liar, a liar
A liar, a liar

I'll hide behind a smile
And understanding eyes...
And I'll tell you things that you already know
So you can say, "I really identify with you, so much!"
And all the time that you're needing me
Is just the time that I'm bleeding you
Don't you get it yet?
I'll come to you like an affliction
And I'll leave you like an addiction
You'll never forget me

You wanna know why?

Cause I'm a liar
Yeah, I'm a liar
I'll rip your mind out
I'll burn your soul
I'll turn you into me
I'll turn you into me
Cause I'm a liar, a liar
Liar, liar, liar, liar

I don't know why I feel the need to lie
And cause you so much pain
Maybe it's something inside
Maybe it's something I can't explain...
Cause all I do
Is mess you up and lie to you
I'm a liar...
Oh, I am a liar

If you'll give me one more chance
I swear that I will never lie to you again
Because now, I see the destructive power of a lie...
They're stronger than truth...
I can't believe I ever hurt you...
I swear
I will never lie to you again
Please, just give me one more chance
I will never lie to you again
I swear...
I will never tell a lie...
I will never tell a lie...
No... No...

[Maniacal laughter]
Sucker! Sucker! Oh, Sucker!
I am a liar, yeah!
I am a liar, yeah!
I like it!
I feel good!
I'll lie again!
And again!
I'll lie again and again
And I'll keep lying!
I promise...

And ones from Billericky Dicky

good evening i'm from essex
in case you couldn't tell
my given name is Dickie, I come from Billericay
and I'm doing very well

had a love affair with Nina
in the back of my Cortina
a seasoned up hyena could not have been more obscener
she took me to the cleaners
and other misdemeanours
but I got right up between her
rum and her Ribena

well, you ask Joyce and Vicki
if candy-floss is sticky
I'm not a blinking thicky
I'm Billericay Dickie
and i'm doing very well

I bought a lot of brandy
when I was courting Sandy
took eight to make her randy
and all I had was shandy
another thing with Sandy
what often came in handy
was passing her a 'Mandy'
she didn't half go bandy

so you ask Joyce and Vicki
if I ever took the mickey
I'm not a flipping thicky
I'm billeicay dickie
and I'm doing very well

I'd rondez-vouez with Janet
quite near the Isle of Thanet
she looked more like a gannet
she wasn't half a prannet
her mother tried to ban it
her father helped me plan it
and when I captured Janet she bruised her pomegranet

so you ask Joyce and Vicki
if i ever shaped up tricky
I'm not a blooming thicky
I'm Billericay Dickie
and I'm doing very well

you should never hold a candle if you don't know where it's been
the jackpot is in the handle on a normal fruit machine

so you ask Joyce and Vicki
who's their brickie
I'm not a common thicky
I'm Billericay Dickie
and I'm doing very well

I know a lovely old toe-rag obliging and noblesse
kindly, charming shag from Shoeburyness

my given name is Dickie
I come from Billericay
I thought you'd never guess

so you ask Joyce and Vicki
a pair of squeaky chickies
I'm not a flaming thicky I'm Billericay Dickie
and I'm doing very well

oh golly, oh gosh come and lie on the couch
with a nice bit of posh from Burnham-on-Crouch

my given name is Dickie, I come from Billericay
and I ain't a sloutch

so you ask Joyce and Vicki
about Billericay Dickie
I ain't an effin' thicky
you ask Joyce and Vicki
and I'm doing very well

I'd advise reading those, or listening to him if your down. if that dosn't make you laugh.....

(written by Stevie Nicks)

Maybe we were together in another life
Maybe we are together in a parallel universe
Maybe our paths are not supposed to cross twice
Maybe your arms are not supposed to go around me

I hear about you now and then
I wonder where you are and how you feel
Sometimes I walk by and I look up to your balcony
Just to make sure that you were real
Just to make sure that I can still feel you

Chorus:
When I see you again as I always do
It appears to me that Destiny rules
That the spirits are ruthless with the paths they choose
It's not being together, it's just following the rules
No one's a fool...

Six weeks in a foreign country, how the time flew
I didn't speak the language, but somehow I knew
That that would be the only time that we could be alone and foolish
We said we'd never come home

Repeat chorus

I like the coastal cities, I like the lights
I like the way the city blends into the ocean at night
It's like living on a working river; the coastline is glittering
Like a diamond snake in a black sky

Repeat chorus

They're just following the rules... no one's a fool
They're just following the rules... no one's a fool
They're just following the rules... no one's a fool
No one's a fool...
No one's a fool...
No one's a fool

Hmm...
Some of the ones I would pick have already been said, like "Hallelujah" and "American Pie", so I'll do two that haven't been picked yet.

I'll have to pick something by VNV Nation, but it's tough to choose...

Breathing an air,
permeated, soaked in darkness,
emanating from within,
resonating like a scream no one can hear

I wear this chaos well.
Though none should save me,
desperation keeps me here,
my need for innocence,
the place where I began
The abyss becomes me,
I wear this chaos well.

Are these not words of heresy
a venom on my lips, a poison?
My spirit impurified
in everything I choose to say

With you I stand in hope that
god will save us from ourselves.
Every cry a wasted moment
until another day is lost.
Even lands we once called home
lie undiscovered and unknown.
Only heaven's silence for an answer.
And did our laughter, did our tears
have some purpose after all?
Did we toil in vain in hope
that wisdom came from what we'd done?
Even lands we once called home
lie undiscovered and unknown.
Only heaven's silence for an answer.

Are these not words of heresy
a venom on my lips, a poison?
My spirit impurified
in everything I choose to say

If I would shed my skin, the layers left,
but not the lessons learned
it would not undo what I have done
or grant forgiveness in some better days.

It's colder than before
The seasons took all they had come for
Now winter dances here
It seems so fitting don't you think?
Dress the ground in white
And grey

It's so quiet I can hear
My thoughts touching every second
that I spent
Waiting for you
Circumstances affords me
No second chance
To tell you
How much I've missed you

My beloved do you know
When the warm wind comes again
Another year will start to pass
And please don't ask me why I'm here
Something deeper brought me
That I need to remember

We were once young and blessed with wings
No heights could keeps us from their reach
No sacred place we did not soar
Still greater things burned within us
I don't regret the choices that I've made
I know you feel the same

My beloved do you know
How many times I stared at clouds
Thinking that I saw you there
These are feelings that do not pass so easily
I can't forget what we claimed was ours

Moments lost though time remains
I am so proud of what we were
No pain remains
No feeling
Eternity awaits
Grant me wings that I might fly
My restless soul is longing
No pain remains
No feeling
Eternity awaits

Moments lost though time remains
I am so proud of what we were
No pain remains
No feeling
Eternity awaits
Grant me wings that I might fly
My restless soul is longing
No pain remains
No feeling

Eternity awaits

So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
Blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

And did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl,
Year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found?
The same old fears.
Wish you were here.

Dandelion by Boards of Canada.

When lava pours out near the sea's surface, tremendous volcanic explosions sometimes occur.

In time, submarine seamouths, or islands are formed.

When lava flows underwater, it behaves differently.

A new contraption to capture a dandelion in one piece has been put together by the crew.

The preperation for a dive is always a tense time.

When lava pours out near the sea's surface, tremendous volcanic explosions sometimes occur.

Here's another Sunday morning call
You hear your head a-banging on the wall
Slip your shoes on and then out you crawl
Into a day that couldn't give you more
But what for?

And in your head do you feel what you're not supposed to feel
And you take what you want, but you don't get it for free
You need more time
'Cause your thoughts and words won't last for evermore
And I'm not sure if it'll ever work out right
But it's okay - it's all right...

No one knows what it's like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes

No one knows that it's like
To be hated
To be fated
To telling only lies

But my dreams, they aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be
I have hours
Only lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free

No one knows what it's like
To feel these feelings
Like I do
And I blame you

No one bites back as hard on their anger
None of my pain and woe
Can show through

But my dreams, they aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be
I have hours
Only lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free

When my fist clenches, crack it open
Before I use it and loose my cool
When I smile, tell me some bad news
Before I laugh, and act like a fool

If I swallow anything evil
Put your finger down my throat
If I shiver, please give me a blanket
Keep me warm, let me wear your coat

No one knows what it's like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes

This is really hard, there are tons of lyrics i love, so i chose "The Prophet's Song" by Queen

Oh, oh people of the earth
Listen to the warning
The seer he said
Beware the storm that gathers here
Listen to the wise man

I dreamed I saw on a moonlit stair
Spreading his hands on the multitude there
A man who cried for a love gone stale
And ice cold hearts of charity bare
I watched as fear took the old men's gaze
Hopes of the young in troubled graves
I see no day, I heard him say
So gray is the face of every mortal

Oh, oh people of the earth
Listen to the warning
The prophet he said
For soon the cold of night will fall
Summoned by your own hand

Oh, oh children of the land
Quicken to the new life
Take my hand
Fly and find the new green bough
Return like the white dove

He told of death as a bone white haze
Taking the lost and the unloved babe
Late too late all the wretches run
These kings of beasts now counting their days
From mother's love is the son estranged
Married his own his precious gain
The earth will shake in two will break
And death all around will be your dow'ry

Oh, oh people of the earth
Listen to the warning the seer he said
For those who hear and mark my words
Listen to the good plan

Oh, oh-and two by two my human zoo
They'll be
running for to come
running for to come
out of the rain

Flee for your life
Who heed me not, let all your treasure make you
Fear for your life
Deceive you not, the fires of hell will take you
Should death await you

God give you trace to purge this place
And peace all around may be your fortune

Oh, oh children of the land
Love is still the answer, take my hand
The vision fades, a voice i hear
"Listen to the madman"

But still I fear and still dare not
Laugh at the madman

For those who think modern hip-hop artists invented raunchy music this is from a song by Lucille Bogan, 1935, called "Shave 'em Dry II."

I got nipples on my titties big as the end of my thumb
I got something 'tween my legs'll make a dead man cum
Ah daddy, baby won't you shave 'em dry
Won't you grind me baby, grind me 'til I cry

Well, I fucked all night
And I feel just like I want to fuck some more
Ah, daddy, baby won't you shave me dry...

I'll have to pick something by VNV Nation, but it's tough to choose...

Futureperfect is an amazing album. Though, I have to say, of my favorite VNV songs, the tops are Solitary and Chosen, off of Praise the Fallen. I want Solitary played at my funeral. And Chosen... well...

Order is shattered in a strange gutteral tone resounding along the walls of the houses, scene dead and deserted, while from behind closed shutters eyes watch the conquerors, who, by rite of war, are now masters of the city, and of the lives and fortunes of its people. In their darkened rooms the inhabitants have given way to the same feeling of panic which is aroused by natural cataclysms, those devastating upheavals of the Earth against which wisdom and strength alike are of no avail. The same feeling is experienced whenever the established order of things is upset, when security ceases to exist, and when all that was previously protected by the laws of modern nature is suddenly placed at the mercy of brutal, unreasoning force. The earthquake, burying a whole people beneath the ruins of their houses; the river in spate, sweeping away the bodies drowned peasants, together with the carcasses of cattle and rafters torn from rooves. The victorious army, slaughtering all that resist, making prisoners of the rest, looting by right of the sword, and thanking their god to the sound of the cannon. All of these are terrible scourges which undermine all our belief in eternal justice and the trust we have been taught to place in divine protection and human reason.

*Chill* Perfect opening to that album. I can dig a band that takes war and makes it beautiful.

Sex with satan by Pile Driver (marduk does a good cover)

Hell on fire, lust, desire
The devil wants to stick you, yeah, the devil wants to lick you
Wants your body, he wants your spirit
He comes to you at night, he wants to take a bite!

Naked, twisting, bodies sweating
You can't escape his hunger, screams like thunder
Prince of Darkness, Prince of Evil
Spread your legs and scream, no this is not a dream!

Sex with satan, excommunication

Degredation, humiliation, thrusting, shoving, animals humping
Lusting loudly, snorting, panting
He's like a dog in heat, you're just another piece of meat

Cursed hellhound, craving demon
He fills you with pain,& now you're bloody and stained
Hurt and beaten, ohhh, shamed and weakened
He will possess you, he will molest you

I'm a fan of quite simple, poigniant lyrics like Gladys Knight - The Way We Were:

Gladys knight is awesome; one of my goals is to be a pip from gladys Knight and the Pip's "Midnight Train To Georgia"

But I have to say that Paul Simon gets the prize for most beautiful song writing. Here's American Tune:

Many's the time I've been mistaken
And many times confused
Yes, and I've often felt forsaken
And certainly misused
Oh, but I'm alright, I'm alright
I'm just weary to my bones
Still, you don't expect to be
Bright and bon vivant
So far a-way from home, so far away from home

And I don't know a soul who's not been battered
I don't have a friend who feels at ease
I don't know a dream that's not been shattered
or driven to its knees
but it's alright, it's alright
for we lived so well so long
Still, when I think of the
road we're traveling on
I wonder what's gone wrong
I can't help it, I wonder what has gone wrong

And I dreamed I was dying
I dreamed that my soul rose unexpectedly
And looking back down at me
Smiled reassuringly
And I dreamed I was flying
And high up above my eyes could clearly see
The Statue of Liberty
Sailing away to sea
And I dreamed I was flying

We come on the ship they call the Mayflower
We come on the ship that sailed the moon
We come in the a-ge's most uncertain hours
and sing an American tune
Oh, and it's alright, it's alright, it's alright
You can't be forever blessed
Still, tomorrow's going to be another working day
And I'm trying to get some rest
That's all I'm trying to get some rest

Couldn't resist, Kathy's Song:

I hear the drizzle of the rain
Like a memory it falls
Soft and warm continuing
Tapping on my roof and walls.

And from the shelter of my mind
Through the window of my eyes
I gaze beyond the rain-drenched streets
To England where my heart lies.

My mind's distracted and diffused
My thoughts are many miles away
They lie with you when you're asleep
And kiss you when you start your day.

And a song I was writing is left undone
I don't know why I spend my time
Writing songs I can't believe
With words that tear and strain to rhyme.

And so you see I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.

And as I watch the drops of rain
Weave their weary paths and die
I know that I am like the rain
There but for the grace of you go I

Most everyone agrees that Meatloaf has the most awesome lyrics, but no one posts?

And I would do anything for love, I'd run right into hell and back
I would do anything for love, I'll never lie to you and that's a fact
But I'll never forget the way you feel right now, oh no, no way
And I would do anything for love, but I won't do that, I won't do that
Anything for love, oh I would do anything for love
I would do anything for love, but I won't do that, oh I won't do that

Some days it don't come easy, and some days it don't come hard
Some days it don't come at all, and these are the days that never end
Some nights you're breathing fire, and some nights you're carved in ice
Some nights you're like nothing I've ever seen before or will again
Maybe I'm crazy, but it's crazy and it's true
I know you can save me, no one else can save me now but you

As long as the planets are turning, as long as the stars are burning
As long as your dreams are coming true, you better believe it
That I would do anything for love, and I'll be there til the final act
I would do anything for love, and I'll take a vow and seal a pact
But I'll never forgive myself if we don't go all the way tonight
And I would do anything for love, oh I would do anything for love
Oh I would do anything for love, but I won't do that, no I won't do that

I would do anything for love, anything you've been dreaming of
But I just won't do that

Some days I pray for silence, and somedays I pray for soul
Some days I just pray to the God of Sex and Drums and Rock 'N Roll
Some nights I lose the feeling, and some nights I lose control
Some nights I just lose it all when I watch you dance and the thunder rolls
Maybe I'm lonely and that's all I'm qualified to be
There's just one and only, the one and only promise I can keep

As long as the wheels are turning, as long as the fires are burning
As long as your prayers are coming true, you better believe it
That I would do anything for love, and you know it's true and that's a fact
I would do anything for love, and there'll never be no turning back
But I'll never do it better than I do it with you, so long, so long
And I would do anything for love, oh I would do anything for love
I would do anything for love, but I won't do that, no no no I won't do that
I would do anything for love, anything you've been dreaming of
But I just won't do that

But I'll never stop dreaming of you every night of my life, no way
And I would do anything for love, oh I would do anything for love
I would do anything for love
But I won't do that
No I won't do that

Will you raise me up, will you help me down?
Will you get me right out of this Godforsaken town?
Will you make it all a little less cold?
I can do that! I can do that!

Will you hold me sacred? Will you hold me tight?
Can you colorize my life, I'm so sick of black and white?
Can you make it all a little less old?
I can do that! Oh oh, now I can do that!
Will you make me some magic, with your own two hands?
Can you build an emerald city with these grains of sand?
Can you give me something I can take home?
I can do that! Oh oh now, I can do that!

Will you cater to every fantasy I got?
Will ya hose me down with holy water, if I get too hot?
Will you take me places I've never known?
I can do that! Oh oh now, I can do that!
After a while you'll forget everything
It was a brief interlude and a midsummer night's fling
And you'll see that it's time to move on
I won't do that! No I won't do that!

I know the territory, I've been around
It'll all turn to dust and we'll all fall down
And sooner or later, you'll be screwing around
I won't do that! No I won't do that!
Anything for love, oh I would do anything for love
I would do anything for love, but I won't do that, no I won't do that

This song is ass-backwards and confusing, but also awesome. Maybe someone will care to explain the lyrics.

Do It Yourself
Lyrics by Bill Sutton
Tune: MacNamara's Band (Trad.)

I went to buy computers and they said a million bucks
For a brand-new mainframe IBM. Now that price really sucks!
So I looked at all the pictures and I chose to build my own,
For you can build a mainframe from the things you find at home!

CHORUS:
Oh, IBM, DEC, and Honeywell, HP, DG, and Wang,
Amdahl, NEC, and NCR -- They don't know anything!
They make big bucks for systems, so they never want it known
That you can build a mainframe from the things you find at home!

Now take your CPU. You see, it's only just a box
With blinking lights and whirring fans and lots of cable slots.
So I spent an evening working with some wire and bulbs and pins,
Then I hauled it to the basement and I plugged the freezer in!

(CHORUS: )

I had to have a tape drive, but my tape drive was a steal.
I climbed into the attic for my dad's old reel-to-reel!
Some bailing wire and cable and at last it was complete:
My CPU and tape drive at a price no one could beat!

(CHORUS: )

Next I needed disk drives, but it didn't take me long.
Function follows form, they say, or have I got that wrong?
I found a drive with five new modes that blows the rest away:
Cottons, linens, wash-and-wear, rinse, and lingerie!

(CHORUS: )

I had to have a console just to make my system run.
Without a fancy console, then my system wasn't done.
So I hooked a ten-buck typer to a broken TV tube,
And now I've got a console that can write the evening news!

(CHORUS: )

I've had my system running; I'll admit it's not the best.
The data isn't right and the response time is a mess.
It crashes every hour and it isn't worth a damn,
But I'm satisfied because it runs just like an IBM!

(CHORUS: )

Maybe someone will care to explain the lyrics. It's a song about someone's affirmation for the love of his life, he will do anything for that person because of love, but what he won't do is forget her, fool around on her, nor will he love anyone else as much as he loves her.

-The Sound of Silence

Hello darkness my old friend,
I've come to talk with you again,
because a vision softly creeping,
left its seeds while I was sleeping,
and the vision that was planted in my brain,
still remains
within the the sound of slience

In restless dreams I walked alone,
narrow streets of cobblestone.
'Neath the halo of a streetlamp,
I turned my collar to the cold and damp,
when my eyes were stabbed by the flash of
a neon light,
that split the night
and touched the sound of silence.

And in the naked light I saw,
ten thousand people, maybe more.
People talking without speaking,
people hearing without listening.
people writing songs that voices never share
and no one dared
disturb the sound of silence.

"Fools," said I, "You do not know,
silence like a cancer grows.
Hear my words that I might teach you,
Take my arms that I might reach you."
But my words, like silent raindrops fell,
and echoed
in the wells of silence.

And the people bowed and prayed
to the neon god they made.
And the sign flashed out its warning,
in the words that it was forming.
And the sign said "The words of the prophets
are written on the subway walls
and tenement halls.
And whisper'd in the sounds of silence.

Heaven and Hell - Black Sabbath

Sing me a song, you're a singer
Do me a wrong, you're a bringer of evil
The Devil is never a maker
The less that you give, you're a taker
So it's on and on and on, it's Heaven and Hell, oh well

The lover of life's not a sinner
The ending is just a beginner
The closer you get to the meaning
The sooner you'll know that you're dreaming
So it's on and on and on, oh it's on and on and on
It goes on and on and on, Heaven and Hell
I can tell, fool, fool!

Well if it seems to be real, it's illusion
For every moment of truth, there's confusion in life
Love can be seen as the answer, but nobody bleeds for the dancer
And it's on and on, on and on and on....

They say that life's a carousel
Spinning fast, you've got to ride it well
The world is full of Kings and Queens
Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams
It's Heaven and Hell, oh well
And they'll tell you black is really white
The moon is just the sun at night
And when you walk in golden halls
You get to keep the gold that falls
It's Heaven and Hell, oh no!
Fool, fool!
You've got to bleed for the dancer!
Fool, fool!
Look for the answer!
Fool, fool, fool!

Actually, most of Black Sabbath is actually quite inspired.

BAt Out Of Hell has to have the greatestlyrics off all time, from what I get from them, isn't it like his last thoughts as he dies... Or am I wrong?

The sirens are screaming and the fires are howling
Way down in the valley tonight
There's a man in the shadows with a gun in his eye
And a blade shining oh so bright
There's evil in the air and there's thunder in the sky
And a killer's on the bloodshot streets
Oh and down in the tunnel where the deadly are rising
Oh I swear I saw a young boy
Down in the gutter
He was starting to foam in the heat
Oh Baby, you're the only thing in this whole world
That's pure and good and right
And wherever you are and wherever you go
There's always gonna be some light
But I gotta get out
I gotta break it out now
Before the final crack of dawn
So we gotta make the most of our one night together
When it's over you know
We'll both be so alone
Like a bat out of hell
I'll be gone when the morning comes
When the night is over
Like a bat out of hell I'll be gone gone gone
Like a bat out of hell I'll be gone when the morning comes
But when the day is done
And the sun goes down
And moonlight's shining through
Then like a sinner before the gates of heaven
I'll come crawling on back to you
I'm gonna hit the highway like a battering ram
On a silver black phantom bike
When the metal is hot and the engine is hungry
And we're all about to see the light
Nothing ever grows in this rotting old hole
Everything is stunted and lost
And nothing really rocks
And nothing really rolls
And nothing's ever worth the cost
And I know that I'm damned if I never get out
And maybe I'm damned if I do
But with every other beat I got left in my heart
You know I'd rather be damned with you
If I gotta be damned you know I wanna be damned
Dancing through the night with you
If I gotta be damned you know I wanna be damned
Gotta be damned you know I wanna be damned
If I gotta be damned you know I wanna be damned
Dancing through the night
Dancing through the night
Dancing through the night with you
Oh Baby, you're the only thing in this whole world
That's pure and good and right
And wherever you are and wherever you go
There's always gonna be some light
But I gotta get out
I gotta break it out now
Before the final crack of dawn
So we gotta make the most of our one night together
When it's over you know
We'll both be so alone
Like a bat out of hell
I'll be gone when the morning comes
When the night is over
Like a bat out of hell I'll be gone gone gone
Like a bat out of hell I'll be gone when the morning comes
But when the day is done
And the sun goes down
And moonlight's shining through
Then like a sinner before the gates of heaven
I'll come crawling on back to you
Then like a sinner before the gates of heaven
I'll come crawling on back to you
I can see myself tearing up the road
Faster than any other boy has ever gone
And my skin is raw but my soul is ripe
No one's gonna stop me now
I gotta make my escape
But I can't stop thinking of you
And I never see the sudden curve until it's way too late
I never see the sudden curve till it's way too late
Then I'm dying at the bottom of a pit in the blazing sun
Torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike
And I think somebody somewhere must be tolling a bell
And the last thing I see is my heart
Still beating
Breaking out of my body
And flying away
Like a bat out of hell
Then I'm dying at the bottom of a pit in the blazing sun
Torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike
And I think somebody somewhere must be tolling a bell
And the last thing I see is my heart
Still beating
Still beating
Breaking out of my body and flying away
Like a bat out of hell
Like a bat out of hell
Like a bat out of hell
Like a bat out of hell
Like a bat out of hell

Not the greatest song, not that popular of a song. But this four line verse is perfect.

Tool - Eulogy

"Come down,
Get off your fucking cross,
We need the fucking space,
To nail the next fool martyr!"

Then again, most any Tool song will give you some good lyrics to listen to, or even read if you're not into the whole hard rock genre.

Also, for anything funny listen to some Stephen Lynch.

"There's a hair on the soap,
and its short and its curly.
A hair on the soap,
and I don't think its mine."

Sunshine, been keeping me up for days
There is no night time, it's only a passing phase
And I feel pretty, pretty enough for you
I felt so ugly before, I didn't know what to do

Haven't laughed this hard in a long time
I better stop now before I start crying
Go off to sleep in the sunshine
I don't want to see the day when it's dying

She's a sight to see, she's good to me
I'm already somebody's baby
She's a pretty thing and she knows everything
But I'm already somebody's baby

You don't deserve to be lonely
But those drugs you got won't make you feel better
Pretty soon you'll find it's the only
Little part of your life you're keeping together

I'm nice to you, I could make it through
That you're already somebody's baby
I could make you smile if you stayed a while
But how long will you stay with me baby

Because your candle burns too bright
Well, I almost forgot it was twilight
Even if I think that you are right
Well, I'm tired of being down, I got no fight

You're wonderful, when it's beautiful
But I'm already somebody's baby
And if I went with you I'd disappoint you too
Well, I'm already somebody's baby
Already somebody's baby

Hold on Magnolia to that great highway moon
No one has to be that strong
But if you're stubborn like me
I know what you're trying to be
Hold on Magnolia, I hear that station bell ring
You might be holding the last light I see
Before the dark finally gets a hold of me
Hold on Magnolia, I know what a true friend you've been
In my life I have had my doubts
But tonight I think I've worked it out with all of them
Hold on Magnolia to the thunder and the rain
To the lightning that has just signed my name to the bottom line
Hold on Magnolia, I hear that lonesome whistle whine
Hold on Magnolia
I think its almost time

Thousand Foot Krutch - This is a Call
They're a Christian rock band, not the preacy kind, this is their most obvious religious song, I recommend you check them out if you like rock.

She fooled all of her friends into thinking she's so strong
But she still sleeps with her light on
And she acts like it's all right on
As she smiles again her mother lies there sick with cancer
and her friends don't understand her, she's a question without answers
who feels like falling apart. She knows, she's so much more than worthless, but she needs to find her purpose, she wonders what she did to deserve this and..

She's calling out to you, this is a call; this is a call out,
Cause everytime I fall down, I reach out to you,
and I'm losing all control now, and my hazard signs are all out,
I'm asking you, to show me what this life is all about.

He tells everyone a story, because he feels his life is boring,
and he fights so you won't ignore him, because that's his biggest fear
and he cries, but you'll rarely see him do it. He loves, but he's scared to use it.
So he hides behind the music, cause he likes it that way
He knows, He's so much more than worthless,
he needs to find the surface, because he's starting to get nervous.

He's calling out to you, this is a call; this is a call out
Cause everytime I fall down, I reach out to you
and I'm losing all control now, and my hazard signs are all out
I'm asking you, to show me what this life is all about.

Have you ever felt this way before? 'cause I don't wanna hide here anymore. Take me to place where nothing's wrong and thanks for comin
shut the door. They say someone out there sees us,
Well if you're real then save me Jesus, cause I've been here for far too long. I wasn't meant to feel alone.

And now I'm calling out to you, this is a call; this is a call out
Cause everytime I fall down, I reach out to you
and I'm losing all control now, and my hazard signs are all out
I'm asking you, to show me what this life is all about.

Show me what this life is all about
Show me what this life is all about

'Hello and goodbye, I just unemployed you, you can go back to school....I like your conversation, you've a catchy turn of phrase, you're obviously going through some adolescent phase, maybe you got something more than just a pretty face - maybe not!' 'Did you hear that? They called me a whore, they actually called me a whore! - But Signora Peron, it's an easy mistake, I have that trouble too. I'm still called an admiral thouh I gave up the sea long ago.' 'It's no crime for officers to do as they please, as long as they're discreet and stay clear of disease we ignore, we disregard...Slut! Dangerous jade.' etc etc.

'Down once more to the dungeon of my black dispair, down we plunge to the prison of my mind. Down that path into darkness deep as Hell!' - Down Once More/Track Down This Murderer - Phantom of the Opera.

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

Pink - Lonely Girl & Split Personality. (What sucks is that I can relate to the latter)

Renaissance - Cold is Being.

Monty Python - Camelot. (for it's wtf? factor.)

Cannibal corpse are fucking RANDOM as to their lyrics. One of their songs has 'eyeball pops, fluid sprays' somewhere in it (forget which one).
I was going to post an example, but I don't want to get in trouble.
'Dead Human Collection" is really fucked-up.
EDIT: "The Spine Splitter" is better.

I pledge defiance to the flag of the United Snakes of Captivity
With liberty and justice for all who can afford it
Burn, Baby, Burn
Old Glory
The Yankee Swastika
Burn, Baby, Burn
Burn, Baby, Burn
Whenever I see you I see red
Whenever I see you I see red
If the Communists can do it, why can’t we
Throw the bastards out and try some real Democracy
Not by rich people
Not by Army peopl
Not by sons of senators sons of senators sons of senators sons
After all, have you noticed
The more they dole out Democracy over there
The more they take it away over here
Now, before it’s too late
Be a good boyscout
Take the Swastika
The Yankee Swastika
and let it
Burn
Burn
Burn, baby Burn
