Best Led Zeppelin song?

:D I have to follow on from the Cure, Clash and Smashing Pumpkins threads, for some inexplicable reason.

I'm leaving out some good ones on the poll, I know. But nothing overly obvious, I don't think. Meh. I'll probably kick myself in a couple of minutes.

*Anticipates everyone voting for Stairway* :(

I just picked one that wasn't Stairway to Heaven. All good. All perfect. Even some of the weirder ones. :p

It's been a long time since I rock and rolled!

It's such a hard choice now that I think about it. I can't think of very many at all that I don't like.

The Ocean!

It's awesome, yeah :D It was either that or No Quarter on the poll and it only just missed out.

Immigrant Song. Metal songs about Vikings (or any barbarians for that matter) always rule.

I hate to be a conformist but I really gotta say, that I think Stairway is the best. I disliked it at first but after a while, I grew to really like. A close second: Trampled Underfoot.

Dazed and Cinfused wasn't originally a Zepp song. It was done by the Yardbirds of which Plant was a part for a very short time.

"The Battle of Evermore."

A fair few of the songs off their first album were borrowed riffs and semi-covers. That doesn't make them any less awesome. :)

Bah. Where is the Battle of Evermore? Kashmir? D'yer Mak'er?

I only get 10 poll options. No matter what I put down, someone would be pissed off. Not that they aren't good and deserving of getting on here, of course.

I think you might be dazed and confused yourself. Jimmy Page played with the Yardbirds, not Robert Plant.
As for the topic: Achillies Last Stand

I think i voted for Stairway but i didnt notice there was an "other" choice until after i clicked. So i would have to say D'yer Mak'er is my favorite song, I love the intro to the song.

Too hard to make a real choice on this one, too many great songs.

Jeez.. how to pick?? I chose Dazed and Confused, just because im listening to it now.. I mean:

Stairway to Heaven
Dazed and Confused
Immigrant Song
Black Dog
Heartbreaker
Living Loving Maid
Ramble On
Achilles Last Stand
Royal Orleans
Nobody's Fault but Mine
Whole Lotta Love
Custard Pie
In My Time of Dying
Houses of the Holy
Trampled Under Foot
Kashmir
The Wanton Song
Over the Hills and Far Away
Dancing Days
The Ocean

Need I really go on? I could sit here all day and spew out song after incredible song; Led Zeppelin simply the best *shrugs*. Nothing anyone can say will refute that fact.

*leaves and plays Black Sabbath at extreme volume* Ah, now there is some good classic metal.

Although Sabbath does rock....

Yes, Sabbath does rock, but Branin has commited the ultimate heresy.

I dont know about taking it THAT far.. I have a simple solution.

*straps Branin to the table in the psych ward, a la One Flew over the Cukoo's Nest and proceeds to give him electrotherapy while blaring Led Zeppelin in the background*

"There there, now, doesnt that feel better?"
Der Lieben

If that doesn't work, I'm ready with another stab. :D

"Rock and Roll" if only for John Bonham's drum intro at the beginning.

*leaves and plays Black Sabbath at extreme volume* Ah, now there is some good classic metal.
My only objection to this statement is that while Black Sabbath is metal, Led Zeppelin is not and therefore the statement is grammatically incorrect. Other than that, you're right, Black Sabbath is far suporior.

"Ten Years Gone"

I choose Kashmir, The Ocean and When the Levee Breaks.

At least Zepp had a good singer and drummer.
