When I was a Ninja Turtle at kids birthday parties if a kid challenged whether I was really a Ninja Turtle or not, since we did not want to get into an actual discusion about how much I wasn't a bipedal talking ninja fighting turtle we would just turn the question around on the kids and ask if they where real.
That's what 'response' threads always seem to me as. Someone feels that they can't argue the premise, but if they modify the premise they can argue that or just ridicule it, creating enough white noise that it is lost to all.
