That's what mothers do. Otherwise nothing would ever get done, at least not around here.

Having spent the entire last taking care of Mom while she fought cancer, I have nothing to complain about.

Indeed, I am very grateful that the latest tests show she is for now cancer free.

Mothers may nag. Yet, they are our Mothers.

Cherish yours. She's the only one you got. Tell her you love her. Do so often. Hug her. Get her a gift now and then, take her out for lunch or a movie. Get to know her while she is with you. Sit down and have coffee with her. And be thankful for her, your Mother, no matter how she nags.

You never know how long the time we have to walk with our loved ones.

Peace,

~Caffie.

You low life childish worm. That is your mother you are talking about. We all resent our parents at times, but shame on you for disrespecting your mother in a public forum like this. Shame - on - you.

Somebody needs to smack you good.

My dad nags more than my mum...but that might be because my dad's mastered msn messenger unlike her...or the keyboard for that matter.
"Get off the computer, u've been on it an hour" - and him 5hrs :headbang:
"Get ur sprign break sorteed" - "I've only just finished the Dec. Winter break"
"Get ur email to MD to get money." - "Just wait until I've got all the books!"
"got urself an American hunk yet?" - AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHH!
"Do we get photos?" - let me get my damned website up...
"Who is he?" - does it matter, we're not going out.
Curse the day I taught him IMing. :(

I agree. Of course, it is mildly possible that Ogiek hs horribly abusive parents, but in all probability sfu! Your parents work every day to make your life better, and thats the truth. I am very grateful towards my (sometimes worryingly tolerant- hwen I said I was becoming a vegetarian she was meant to cook me my last few meaty meals, not support me and make me vegetarian food!) parents, as should we all be.

All those people saying that you should respect your mother etc etc.

What about if you want to move out and support yourself and start paying them back for all they've done, and they won't let you because it makes them feel bad, makes them feel that they obviously haven't raised me right if I want to move out and earn a living.

Ugh.

March 6th will be one year since my mother died after a long battle with cancer.

Enjoy the nagging while she's still around kid, someday you'll understand why she does it.

plus the nagging will prepare you for spousal nagging. just remember the more your mom nags, the more nagging you'll be able to take from you wife before it become intolerable.

"Nice nags, Ace."

"Yeah, they make damn good targets of themselves."

"Let 'em have it!"

Name the piece of music that these phrases were audio-collaged into, and I'll make a point of bowing publicly before you. Name the director of the film who commissioned the track, and I will name my pets in your honour in perpetuity.

To all you self-righteous lesson givers, I don't see why mothers should necessarily be beyond any criticism. I love my mother, as a human being she's very nice but she's been a very bad mother who has made me suffer a lot, and I feel a right to say it because I'm the one who has been mistreated. Even if Emobuddy's mother isn't to that point, if he's pissed at her because he feels she's not treating him right, why wouldn't he be entitled to tell?

also he's not really dissing her in public, we don't know his real name and therefore we don't know her either. if he (or she) vents here, no harm comes to his mother or her reputation in real life...

worst quote i ever actually heard about someones parents i real life...."when they get old they can drown in their own drool for all i care". a quote from a friend who was 19 at the time and felt she had to run away from home, or her parents would have her committed if she disobeyed them(her father was a prominent local doctor so it wouldn't have been difficult, and they had done it to an older sibling). last i heard they had reconcilled a few years later.

again, bitchy roommates are bigger nags than mothers.

i don't think my mom has ever yelled at me for leaving a single lid for a container on the kitchen table for less than a day... yet my roommate has.

you need to make you roommate fear you a bit. tell they you put the lid there BECUSE THAT IS WHERE IT BELONGS, if they argue with you explain very calmly that that is where god wants that lid to be, and if god came down from heaven just to tell you that was where it should be, then you are sure as hell gonna put it there, and if they don't like it that is satan talking, and if they move it that would mean that had given in to satan's will, and you therefore would be obligated to purge them in the name of the almighty.
