Yes I will get a ton of opposers, hopefully some supporters, why do they suck? First of all they are overrated, people who never listened to any sort of music at all will first say, I like AC/DC. But the main reason I hate them is the lead singer can not sing. He has the worst voice ever released into the world. In fact, his school chorus teacher banned him from singing. This is why they suck. If they had a decent lead singer there music would be ok.

I accept your appology. We can't all have good taste. :p

Agreed. I love the guitars and drums, but I hate the "singing". It just irritates me.

They are a rock band. Nothing more, nothing less.

I can see where you are coming from, I've never thought that AC/DC were ever that special .. that doesn't mean I don't like them though :)

Which singer, Bon Scott the original or Brian Johnson, the Geordie that replaced him?

At first I too thought that AC/DC would be better if their singer didn't sound like a garbage can being dragged across asphalt - but then I realized that if he didn't they would be just another band. Their singer really sets them apart from other rock/metal bands, and he kind of grows on you after a while. (Not to mention you can barely hear him if he sings in his real voice because it's so low - have you heard "Sin City?")

They sound about the same to me.

Oh uh, you know, the one who sings such songs as Back In Black, Whole Lotta Rosie and Highway to Hell (Even though I like Highway to Hell.)
The only AC/DC I like is Highway to Hell and Big Balls.

I agree. There's nothing good about AC/DC. Angus Young is one of the most overrated guitarists ever.

Whole Lotta Rosie and Highway to Hell were performed by Bon Scott. Back In Black was performed by Brian Johnson. Big Balls is one of their worst songs. I'll agree however that Brian Johnson is nothing much nowadays, as his voice is totally gone, and he's basically just shouting in a raspy way, but AC/DC were awesome, especially their Bon Scott stuff excepting most of "Dirty Deeds..." Brian Johnson only really produced two albums of a similar caliber to the other stuff, (though it really can't be compared), those being Back In Black and For Those About To Rock.

They're not great art, they're just a fun band. Plus the singing isn't so bad if you drown it out by screaming the lyrics along with the song.

I think Brian Johnson himself put it all in perspective during an interview:
Q: It's been said that you have ten albums that all sound the same.
A: That's bullshit . . . We have at least 13!
So you see, THEY don't even take themselves seriously. Angus Young has admitted that he's made a career out of playing the same 4 chords over and over. And no, I don't care for Johnson's "singing" either.

I agree that AC/DC sucks. However, you shouldn't say sorry because there are enough people with different perspectives that no matter what you say, you are going to offend someone.

AC/DC rules. Period.
While AC/DC is not my favorite band, they don't certainly don't suck.
Who cares about how their singer sounds? This isn't American Idol, its rock and how someone sings shouldn't affect you. Robert Plant of Zeppelin wasn't the best vocalist, neither was Kurt Cobain of Nirvana. Its all in the lyrics and the energy.
Brian Johnson could really get going on stage, and while he screams out the lyrics to "Back in Black" at the top of his lungs he transmits the electrifying vibe that has made AC/DC so successful.
Also, AC/DC is a live band. You really can't say much about them unless you see them live. True, Angus Young has been overrated about being a really good guitarist, but he is fun to watch. You don't see many guitarists nowadays that run in circles on the ground while playing.
Rock n Roll is all about the energy a band can transmit while playing onstage. AC/DC is one of the best when it comes to doing that and that is why they are so great.

And I suppose the voice of Freddie Mercury, Queen's lead singer, is any better? God, I got put my nads in a vice before I sound like him in some of Queen's later songs.

hehe I couldn't agree with you more, I have yet to see them live but I do have two live DVDs of 'em, and they fucking rock! And if they rock 'live' on DVD, they must really rule live 'live' ;)

Im not saying he had to be Elton John, Roy Orbison, or Frank Sinatra. But his voice just plain sucks. And that is important. I like Led Zeppelin and Nirvana I think they are awesome bands. Maybe they cant hit all the right notes and vocals. But at least they dont sound like old man weathers.
dont get me wrong im not an ac/dc fan and i dont own any of their albums but BACK IN BLACK IS THE GREATEST HEAVY METAL SONG EVER!!!!!! dont really like any of their other songs but back in black just makes me wanna jump around its awesome

What do you mean by his voice 'just plain sucks'? Who are you talking about, Bon Scott or Brian Johnson?
Also his voice must not suck too bad because Back in Black is the 2nd best selling album of all time.

Finally, someone who doesn't kiss AC/DC's ass. Don't get me wrong, you can't say they suck because they have sold so many records and more importantly to me, made a ton of money....however, their music is kinda overplayed and i prefer rap (let's not get into the debate as to whether that's music, ok?). The problem, everyone seems to wear an AC/DC shirt and call themselves a fan, even tho the only songs they have heard are the ones on the back in black album. Tell me the bassists's mother's name or the co-producer of their first album as well as the sound technician and then come back to me and say ur a fan. Until then, let's kick out AC/DC posers!!!
