The existing government parties have won it would seem.

Just wondering if there are any Danes on here that have any reaction?

We have a lot of Swedes and a lot of Finns on the nationstates forums, but the Danes and Norwegians seem to be a bit lacking!

(Dansk Folkeparti are evil! Evil, I say! And that's all I have to say.)

I agree. I was DR Danish television, and it would seem that have slightly increased their vote share!! :(

Well, there's a reason it's called populism. And there's a reason Denmark sucks.

By the by, you should provide a source in English.

Theres also a reason why they were re elected. They must have done something right I imagine.
I think the gained one new seat in parliament.

Yes, I suppose you're right... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4245239.stm

Well, wouldn't go as far to say the whole country sucks, but populism certainly does.

The Danish social democrat leader Morgens Lykketoft has resigned as well I believe.

Bah. All political parties and politicians are populists.

I thought two more seats. Either way bad.

So, we've heard from the Danish neighbours on both sides.... but where are the Danes themselves!?

Why is it bad? I doubt a danish "center-right" part can be very "right"?

I wouldn't call it centre right!

It's a nasty xenophobic party that campaigns on issues such as anti-immigrants - especially when they are not from the west. It wants to take Danmark out of the EU.

Their leader has often condemned Islamic culture and religion, and therefore you could consider her to be racist.

I am a little sketchy on the details, the BBC article just described them as center-right.

Do they want to throw all the muslims out of denmark, or just halt/slow down immigration?

I think the first could be considered racist, but the second could be justified depending upon the specific cirumstances - say for example social services were collapsing under the strain.

No, of course their official policy is not to throw all Muslims out of Denmark. But, their leader has been very anti-Islamic in the past.

I believe they are against a multi-ethnic society, and believe that Danish culture is superior to others.

I do understand the concern about Danish culture though, if indeed it is vanishing. Of course, I am not advocating anti-muslim actions, or banning mosques etc., but I can see why some would feel that it is important to try and preserve tradtional Danish life. After all there are not very many danish people to begin with.

I suppose the thing is to find the right balance and approach it the right way though.
