I was wondering how we know what our credibility rating is on here.

Speaking for myself - I frankly don't give a rat's ass. There are some who view me as credible, and others who dislike my opinions enough to cast aspersions on my character because of them.

Either way it makes no difference to me.

I've been playing NS for years, and just because I barely used the forums until lately, doesn't make me a n00b. I feel disrespected by that statement. My first nation was founded in August 2002 and jsut because I haven't posted here even 100 times, doesn't mean I have no credibility.

What statement? And it would be impossible for you to have an August 2002 nation, given that the game didn't start until several months later.

All I can say is thankfully that flame-bait thread was closed last night. I can't beleive I wasted my time trying to maintain a level of diplomacy within that trash... my head still hurts from the irony. :rolleyes:

Every time you post on this forum you have to ask yourself this question.

Sadly thats the size of it - I doubt the mods look at me favourably anyway. Not that I try to stir up shit, but I'm an asshole - so it sort of follows me around. Haha!

Maybe there should be a quiz or something. Answer the questions honestly, add up the score and get your NS General credibility rating.

I think everyone on here is telling you the same thing... who frickin cares what another person rates you with thier own limiting scale. Every person anywhere has an absolute credibility by just being who they are and not what another wishes for them to be.

Maybe there should be a quiz or something. Answer the questions honestly, add up the score and get your NS General credibility rating.
I don't think I'd even participate, the concept of 'credibility' on a forum is a little absurd to me. It comes down to personal choice whether you trust someone or not within these walls. Some people deserve it, some don't - but thats up to the individual to decide. Not to mention the obvious bias that could potentialy exist in such a quiz - the results would be wholly inconclusive anyway. I just chalk it all up to a matter of choice. The whole n00b/credibility thing was sort of absolved last night anyway by the end of all the non-sensical ranting that went about. :(

Credibility is in the eyes of those who agree with you.

That said ... on the internet, I really don't care much about credibility. If I am credible, so be it. If I am not, then I am thus "incredible" and I can officially call myself: THE INCREDIBLE KERUVALIA!! (flash of lights, chorus of angels, horns, and all that rot)
