Do you have any ideas for me to use when creating my own nation?
No. This is a RPG, not a quiz. Just be creative when creating a new nation. Don't make "Dead2005", or something along those lines. I mean, you can create a nation like that, but that's not really creative. And do you see any RL nations with numbers? No.
As far as everything goes from there, just be creative and have fun. Don't stress imperfections. This game is made to be fun and as realistic as possible without going over-board. Just think to yourself, "What kinda name would be both realistic and what would be a name that would catch eyes?" After that you'll need to design your nation. Flag, Motto, Animal, blah. Your question is answered.
What does "RPG" and "RL" stand for?
Role Playing Game & Real Life. Also remember to use "IC" "OOC" tags in the International Incidents section. "IC = In Character" & "OOC = Out Of Character".
Should i join the UN?
You don't have to. But when you're creating a nation and you leave out your email address, you won't be able to post on the boards nor apply to join the UN.
I joined the UN because my government wants to run things according to the UN resolutions taking up many of our domestic constitutional ammendments. In that regard we also have a right to call out UN nations that break UN resolutions. That's a definate A+ when it comes to being on the side of the UN. And if you look at my nation, it spells "The United Nations" backwards. Cool huh?
One con is the chance you might be complained against or even declared war upon if some nation doesn't like you and desperately searches for a UN resolution to hold against you. I'm against any nation declaring war on another nation over breaking one UN resolution. Diplomacy has to be the first step. Well, confirming first that the violator really did....Violate. And then diplomacy should be the next step to turn it around. If that doesn't work, then create a sanction, or an embargoe. But as the UN states, it's illegal to include medical supplies in an embargoe, so never do that!
Another thing with the UN is becoming UN delegate when you have the most endorsements in a region. Then you get delegate powers unless the founder made it so noone can become the delegate. You need atleast two endorsements to experience everything your delegateship has to offer. One endorsement is like a regular delegate, and two or more endorsements is like a premium delegate with more features. Kinda like you're paying to play a game or you're playing for free. But check it out for yourself, don't let me spoil your NS experience.
The pro about not being a UN member is that the UN and it's members have no legal right backed by a resolution to dictate policy in your country.
How do i declare war?
Check out the FAQ on the left hand corner of the screen where your countries page is located. And check out the stickies in each section of this forum.
Can i create my own region?
Sure! Go into your feeder region ("the pacific") unless you moved to a player created region, then go into that region on the left hand corner where there's a menu.Click on "Move To New Region", then you can create your own region from there and recruit and such.
How do i recruit?
I found the best way is to advertise in feeder regions (the regions you start out in), and by inviting people with a detailed message about your region in the UN section where it shows people applied to the UN. Specifically target them for two reasons. They plan on being a UN member nation, and that's good for any region, and have just applied recently, so you know there's a good chance they're still logged on.
Don't go into random regions to recruit. That's illegal. It's called spam.
Can i take over other regions?
Yes! But i suggest having a reason to, and i sugest making sure the founder is in active. If the founder isn't, he can quickly eject your raiders even if you took the UN delegationship of the said region.
DO NOT eject everyone from the said region. That's illegal. Just take the delegation if your numbers are strong and use that region for whatever you want to use it for. And if they have an off-site board, you can watch them talk about your take-over, and that's always fun to watch (he he).
