What is your favorite sports team?

Just say what your favorite team is. They can play any sport at any level, just say your favorite. I have to think for awhile to narrow mine down to my single most favorite.

AAAAAARRRRRRSSENAL!!!

(That's Arsenal for those not used to footy-terrace chanting).

The only and only Gunners, undefeated champions of the Permiership last year, pride of North London. Rivals to the despicable Manchester United.

"EEEEEEHHHH HEEEEEEENNNNNRRRY!!!!"

(literally "Eh Henry!")

Arsenal kicks ass. I have finally made my choice. I had it narrowed down to the Chicago, Bulls, Chicago Fire, and Arsenal FC. I decided I'd rather pay to see soccer (football, whatever) than basketball and decided that if they played each other (which would never happen) I would have to root for the Fire over Arsenal. It's hard for me to say I'd rood against the gunners though.

And Kastoria, I may know way more about football than most Americans, but what i don't get is the Man U thing. The reason I started to like Arsenal in the first place is cos of my hatred of Man U. But then everyone kept saying Liverpool was Man U's biggest rivals. Is it LIverpool or Arsenal? (not that this is going to change who i root for).

Being a Chelsea fan, I can probably answer your question more neutrally than any Arsenal or Liverpool or Leeds fan could.
Basically Man U were, throughout the eighties and nineties, the big shots of British Football, and were either loved or hated. Now they inherited the top dog position from Liverpool, which explains the hatred of the Liverpool fans. Then at the start of this century, Arsenal took the crown away from Man U. So there is that rivalry explained. The real hatred, however is between Leeds United and Manchester United. This is a long standing hatred, the origins of which are lost in the misty annals of FA history. The other hatreds wax and wane. Arsenal's natural arch enemies are Tottenham Hotspurs. For Liverpool it is Everton. (Think of these as being Yankees and Mets, or Cubs and White Sox) Leeds and Man U is more a case of Red Sox and Yankees.

Best team, The Packers. Not for the team itself, but for the absolute devotion of the cheeseheads.

No no, calling me a Yankees fan is sacrilegious. Calling me a White Sox fan is only mildly insulting, punishable by a smack upside the head.

Thanks. It makes much more sense now. Do you think the rivalries between Man U and Arsenal/Liverpool are temporary, or will they last forever like that between Celtic and Rangers? Oh yeah, and how come there's no big rivalry in the Manchester derby between City and United like there is with the Merseyside derby?

One last thing... this is hard for me to say... Enjoy your Premier League Championship. No one is within shooting range of you guys now...
All I can hope for now is success in Europe, but that's unlikely.
