I'm sorry to see that this thread isn't getting replied to... I think this is a pretty neat idea...

Anyways, it's 7:45 AM here (U.S. EST), and my "day" is winding to a close...

Yup, that's right, I'm gong to bed sometime soon...

So, let's start at the beginning:

I get up around 5 PM, to go to work at 6... My work day lasts 12 hours, until 6 AM (which is why I am still up)... That sounds bad, but it's worth it because I work in alternating 3 and 4 day weeks (which gives me alternating 4 and 3 day weekeneds :) )

I work at a factory that makes circuit boards for various applications... Mostly medical, and some industrial and automotive (nothing for PCs, though)...

My job is to run an "SMT" (Surface Mount Technology) line... It's a series of machines that places the really small parts on a circuit board (the ones that are soldered right on the surface of the board, as oppoed to the ones that have little metal legs/leads that go through holes in the boards)

My typical day consists of a LOT of walking... The machines that I operate span a length of about 20-24 of my paces (I'm not sure what that equals in feet, but it's quite a distance...lol), and my job requires me to be almost constantly moving up and down and around these machines...

Some nights, however, there is nothing scheduled for me to run in SMT (or one or more of the machines is broken, etc), so I get to go and do other jobs around the plant... Last night, for instance, I was running the "Automatics" machines... These machines are similar to the SMT machines; however, they place some of the "through hole" parts (the ones with metal legs/leads)...

Anyways, I come home a little after 6, I usually eat something (not breakfast foods, it's usually a lunch type of food), get on the computer for a while, and then go to bed anywhere between 8 and 11...

On the computer, I have a small list of regularly visited sites through which I make the "rounds"...

Nationstates is one of them, and is usually the last on the list (since I find that I've been spending more time here than the others, I save it for last)...

Some of the other sites include:

http://www.sluggy.com (cool webcomic)
http://www.bobandgeorge.com (cool Mega Man sprite webcomic)
http://www.dragonballtoys.com (DBZ collectors forum)
http://www.byond.com (online game programming system... I program games using it, and discuss things on the developer forum often)

In addition to websurfing, I work on my BYOND game creations (mentioned above), and I've recently been addicted to playing Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 (which I received for a birthday present not too long ago...)

On my days off, my sleep schedule stays roughly the same, although I tend to have to get up earlier, because my fiancee always seems to have something for us to go do...lol

And there you have it, a look into my typical day...

Ok, here's my big compendium of stuff that I do.

Weekdays:I get up at 8:30am, most of the time, where I quickly get up and go into university until 6:15pm. During that time, I load up all of my forums.
at about 7pm, when I get home, I sit on the couch and stare at the wall, until about midnight. Depending on whether I feel like it, I might listen to music, I might not. Then I go to bed and rinse and repeat.

On weekends I get up about mid-day, load up the pc, and go to bed later. I might watch a movie, and usually I have some music in the background, but it's similar to my weekday, except I get up at midday, and go to bed at about 2:30 to 4am, usually.

I eat during those times, but that only takes a few minutes.

9:30pm here now.

My usual day? Wake up at 6:30 every morning, take a shower and a shit, then go to college at 7:15. 45 minutes traffic jam to college. At college study from usually 8-12 (tues, wed, frids), or 8-7pm (on thursdays and mondays).

Pretty much about that, when I get home, usually eat, take a shower come online disturb you guys and then do homework, study, relax, read book, sleep.

On my weekends, usually go out with friends, cybercafe, and stuff. Anything thats more or less cheap usually. Pretty boring normal uni student's life.

Ah, lets see...this is what happened to me today. Somewhat typical, but i'm on holidays from University at the moment.

Well, I was rudely awoken at 9AM after about 3 hours sleep by work who were like "OMG SOME PEOPLE CALLED IN SICK AND WERE GONNA BE SO BUSY OMG OMG WE NEEDS YOU TO COME IN!!!" and me in my half-asleep state agreed to anything they asked...after all, I get paid extra on Sundays anyway. So, I had a shower and got dressed, skipping breakfast. Halfway through my shift, they asked me if I would like to get an extra shift tomorrow, where I would be doing cleaning instead of serving (I work at a cruddy supermarket job). I agreed to this also, in my still half-asleep naivety. It wasn't until later that I realised that it must be a job that nobody else wants to do, or they wouldn't have asked me. They weren't too forthcoming about the details either... Well, that's a surprise for tomorrow I guess. Anyway, after an eternity of watch-checking, it was 5PM and my shift finished. I got home, stuffed my face with cake (I was starving) jammed on guitar for a bit, and broke a string on the bastard. Kinda screwed up that idea...got a trip to the music store planned tomorrow too. Whoopee. So anyway, I fired up the computer and gave the NS forums their first round. After a while it was dinner time, and I was treated to my first proper meal of the day, some raw lambs ribs. Apparently, someone read the instructions wrong, believing it said "cook in oven for 25 minutes" when in actual fact it was "1 hour and 25 minutes." It took a couple of bites before I realised that the meat was raw. Have you ever cut yourself and licked up the blood? That's what raw meat tastes like. Now, you might think that's not too disgusting, but bear in mind that when it isn't your blood, it's pretty unnerving. Everytime I eat lamb now i'll think of that. So, they were then cooked properly, but needless to say I had lost my appetite. I then went back to NS and my MSN conversations, then started playing Civilization 2 for a couple of hours. Then I ended up here again...yes, a rather boring day. It's now almost 1AM. I should probably go get drunk or something. Or sleep.

Let's see...

Woke up, fell out of bed, Dragged my comb across my head. Found my way downstairs and drank a cup, And looking up I noticed I was late.

Found my coat and grabbed my hat. Made the bus in seconds flat.
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke, somebody spoke and I went into a dream.

Oh wait - that wasn't it.....

A typical workday in the life of Zepp:

Up at 6:00. <The following bit of routine is shared duties with Stephistan>: Make coffee. Feed the baby. Put out some clothes for Jake and give him a nudge to wake him. Pack Jake's lunch and ensure that he has everything he needs for that school day. Put the baby downstairs in her play area (Jake will also wander down at about that time and turn on some cartoons). Get Jake his breakfast.</End shared routine>. Shave, shower, and dress for work. Toss out the inevitable cold coffee in the mug and refresh with hot.

OK, so it's about 7:15 at this point. 40 minutes or so of playtime with the kids, then time to head out (right after Atomic Betty finishes defeating Maximus IQ at 7:55). Kiss the wife, kiss the baby, get Jake dressed for outside (Hey - it's winter). Fill a travel mug with coffe, kiss the wife again, and head up the road with Jake to where the school bus picks him up. Chat (and/or shiver) for 10 or 15 minutes with the other parents while the kids play in the snow until the bus arrives. Head home, hop in car, head downtown.

Arrive downtown 8:50 or so, find parking, pick up a muffin or something, and head into the office. Spend from then until 4:30 performing miracles on my client's clusterfuck of a system. I eat lunch at my desk rather than take the break and increase my time needed in the office - although I will usually head out for a 15-minute walk after eating for a bit of a break. Hop in car, and "enjoy" the traffic on the ride home - stopping to pick up any neccessities along the way. Get home and give Steph a half hour or so of a break from baby-care until 6:00 when it's time to get Jake from the after-school program he goes to (basically a couple of hours of various activities after school each day in something like a summer-camp atmosphere, but where time is also put aside for homework.)

Supper (we share cooking duties). Help Jake with any residual homework, a bit of play time, then pack Jake off to bed at 7:30. Holly get's a nightime snack at about 8:00, and then she passes out sometime between 8:30 and 9:00. From 9:00 until bed, our time is our own. Which means doing those other basic fun things like the corporate paperwork. John Stewart at 11:00, then off to bed. Asleep sometime between midnight and 1:00.

Sound exciting enough for everyone?

It's 15.30 or so here now.

On a weekday, I usually get up around 6.00... take a shower, have breakfast and get dressed. Sometimes I go for a 15 minutes run. About 7.00 I leave for work by car (I live in Uppsala and work in Stockholm, they're about 70km apart). Sometimes, I get the train to work, if I know I will be going out in Stockholm after work (and therefore maybe having a drink or two). Usually arrive at the "office" in Gustav Adolfs torg around 8.00 - 8.30. Sometimes the traffic in central Stockholm is a little slow at this time! But, at least I am lucky to have somewhere to park in the centre.

Normally at work until 17.00, but often work later... it depends what is happening really.

Then, set off back to home again. Get home anytime from 18.00 to much later. Then time to eat with family, and sometimes go see friends, or do boring things like go to the supermarket etc.

Gosh, that bored me... so, anybody reaching this point must be sleep reading.

My days never look the same, because I have a really irregular schedule, but I can tell you about this last Friday.

06.50 Got up, brushed my teeth, took a shower and shaved all almost at the same time.

07.30 Left home for university hospital.

07.45 Changed into scrubs and joined some of my classmates and received that day's autopsy schedule. Went through and assigned tasks to said classmates.

08.00 - 11.45 Performed two autopsies and handed in reports detailing probable cause(s) of death.

11.45 Sent histological slides for microscopy.

12.00 - 13.00 Lunch. Had a lettuce, tomato and tuna sandwich and a banana. Drank some tea.

13.00-14.00 Reviewed the autopsies made and held short presentations about them to some classmates. Talked to technician and told him I was done for the day.

14.00 - 15.00 Met my study group and discussed a patient's case. Decided I was too tired to stay through the whole meeting and went home.

15.00 - 17.00 Went home, showered, and then slacked off for an hour at the computer. Made some dinner (pasta al fredo).

17.00 - 19.00 A friend I hadn't seen for a while and his boyfriend came over and joined me for dinner. We pretty much ate and talked.

19.00 - 21.00 Watched TV while answering some email and went through some of the sites I frequent (penny-arcade, fark, livejournal, nationstates...). Decided I wasn't gonna study, because it was Friday and I could do it on Saturday instead.

21.00 - 22.00 A friend called on the phone and we just shot the breeze.

22.00 Had a snack and a night cap (some wine). Brushed my teeth, finished all my toiletries and went to bed.

I wake up at around 7:00am. I rush through the shower/breakfast/tooth brushing stuff so I can be out the door by 7:30, go to work. I work with the federal government as an IT Security analyst, which means as long as there are no developing situations, I get to browse the internet most of the day (which means I come here alot of the time). Sometimes, I use the down time to prepare my lessons or to make other plans for my church's children's church. Other times I have no down time at all, and the day gets very busy and stressful (although it makes it go by faster). After work, what I do varies depending on the day. Some days I go home, cook, eat, and relax for the rest of the night. Other days I grab something to eat and then head straight to church where I work with the children. Sometimes, I go from work straight to the Boys and Girls Club where I do some volunteer work before going to get something to eat then heading home. My day really varies alot. With my work, my church involvement, volunteer work, and hobbies, it is rare for any two of my days to be exactly the same. Theres alot of other variations I havent mentioned here, needless to say, Im usually busy.

Here was my Friday, not an atypical day.

Wake up at 2:30 a.m., and head to the lab. A microscope I have to work with has a tight-packed schedule, so when I use it, it's usually in the small wee hours. Home at five, get a beer, and in bed for six. Sleep for a few hours, then head back to campus for classes at noon. Class until about three, do a little lab work, and head home any time between five and seven. Bring a couple of labmates over, play some Mario Cart, drink some beer. Kick friends out, read for a bit, and head to bed between ten and midnight.

School Days:

Alarm goes off about 7.15. I get out of bed about 7.35. Go downstairs, have a Nutrigrain bar, go upstairs, get washed and dressed. Do hair and makeup. Pack my bag, check there's no h/w I've forgotten. Read for a little while, listen to music, daydream etc until about 8.30 when I'll head off to school.

2 lessons then breaktime. Wander off to meet friends and have some kind of snack and text Rob. Another 2 lessons which I spend checking my phone for a reply, then lunchtime. Wander off to meet friends, maybe go to library if have any work I need to do, have lunch and reply to text. Then another 2 lessons and then go walk home.

Get home, check my emails, reply to emails and browse forums. Usually watch Friends at 5. Have dinner between 5 and half 6. Either read or go on the internet, checking my inbox every 5 minutes. Do any homework thats in for tomorrow or any major homework that I have put off for as long as I can.

Go have shower or bath. Do usual stuff like shave, pluck eyebrows, file nails, moisturise etc Brush my hair before it dries into the un-get-riddable curls. Come back to internet and reply to new emails and browse forums even more. Maybe watch TV, read a book, play a game of pool with my brother, play on the gamecube, call a friend, write some poems, do some drawings etc

Usually go to bed roughly around 11.30. Text Rob again, read for a while or listen to music and then drift off to sleep.

Weekends:

Similar to a school day but I get up about 11 and there is no school, just more of the internet, reading, drawing etc

But obviously this is just a typical day without the additional things such as seeing friends, going places, doing a one off thing etc

for me starts at 5:30, when I get up, make the coffee and make sure the cat is in my section of the house-otherwise he wakes up the wife scratching on the door from the bedroom area to get into the livingroom.
Shower and out the door to school at 6:30, where depending on day, I teach first class at 7:36 or 9:02; I teach US History and Gov't/Economics.
As a newbie to this game, having been alerted to it by one of my students, (and I think I will set my Government class up as a region for them to experience how government works) I will log on now and then during a break period until 2:36 when school ends and I leave for home.
Cook dinner and wait for wife to come home from work-she is a lawyer (as am I in a previous career and during summer vacations), I grade papers and prep for following day.
Evenings I log on and catch up on email and the like.
Weekends are mine and I jealously guard them.

This is a typical day for me.
