Does it matter?
Peechland
06-02-2005, 06:40
well i guess it does matter. What do you say when someone comes u and says 'im sorry" and you have no idea what they mean? the usual response would be 'for what', i'd imagine. But youre nice willamena.....i cant imagine whatd youd have to apologize for

So... it depends on who is apologizing?
Peechland

hmm...yes maybe. If my ex suddenly said "im sorry" ...I'd know EXACTLY why.

Okay.

Yes, it depends on all parties involved.

The future doesn't yet exist!
The present is the only reality, and the past but immaterial memory.

Willamena, if you did something wrong here at NS, post your apology on the thread where the incident occurred, and say what you're apologizing about. That's what I did.

I think the stating the obvious prize has a clear winner.
The present is the only reality, and the past but immaterial memory.
So you define the future as the time yet to come, but do not define the past as a time which has been? After all, having memory of something does not mean that it actually happened.

No one would read it there.

I think we have a semantical difference, here. If it didn't actually happen, then it's not a real "memory."

Your lack of belief is justified, considering I was making an ironic remark about your apology's lack of direction or cause. Doesn't really make you sound very sorry if you can't name the incidents in question.

A semantic difference indeed. I would define a memory as something which exists in one's memory (typical English language that a thing and the set to which is belongs have the same name, but you get what I mean).

Yet, on a personal level, that doesn't really matter. :-) So I was right, you see.

That's cool, because, as a fan of the philosophy of metaphysics, I would define a memory the same way: as an immaterial thing that exists in one's memory (even though that's circular; I just don't have the words at the moment).

If there is shit coming from a pussy then that is not normal. Not that I see that that has anything to do with my explanation of why people won't appreciate his apology. It doesn't affect me, I'm just saying how I think whatever people he offended with react. Not sure how that justifies rolly eyes and italicised vulgarities.

If saying that your post has nothing to do with my post (which you were supposedly replying to) is too serious, then so be it.
As for you're "I'm sorry", you can keep your sarcasm. Your sorrow or lack thereof does not interest me. I am not concerned about your emotional state whatsoever.
