I logged on to yahoo chat a few minutes ago and realized why I never do. There is nothing more lame than being asked "asl" right off the bat. 2 people just messaged me and the first thing they said is "asl", then "wanna cyber''.
Jeez.....
Do you guys chat or have any funny/crazy stories about being online in general?

No private parts are shown, so it doesn't obviously qualify as an obscene image. I did find it somewhat disgusting, though, and am inclined to rule it borderline obscene, but that could just be my personal sensibilities.

Yahoo, MSN, etc. chat just seems creepy and desperate, from my limited experience. Nothing is what it seems, in every way.

last time i was in chat it was when yahoo had that setting where you could follow your friends to wherever they are. i would follow my friends and watch them make asses out of themselves. i actually met what i , until last week, would consider a good friend. we talked online for a year, and it was actually surprising, as there was no relationship/online dating gayness about it. just good friends talking. now , as for what the hell has been going on in the last week is a different story......
but chat sucks. all kids, and bullshitters.and pervs.

yeah, yahoo chats really really suck. I never liked them, used MSN a lot, but then they went paid only and so yeah, all of the chats kinda went down hill, at least the main stream ones that is.

I've heard of them, once heard a group of them went from one cyber cafe' to another and caused a fight. I think I even heard of a cyber gang going to another cyber cafe' and doing a shoot out, over games like EQ and such. Its always an odd thing thinking about nerds with guns.

I used to be addicted to chat.msn, back in the day.
Made a quite a few really good friends, but they dropped off over the years. Now I have one really good friend who I talk to all the time. It has been like 6 years or something (crap!) and we just talk, whinge and pour our hearts out to each other all the time.
We met when chat.msn started to go down hill (or I just started waking up to it, but I'm pretty sure at one point people spoke about things and had conversation in there), and we would copy what someone had said, then paste it and flood the room with it. Then we would abuse the shit out of those "If you wanna cyber tyep 666" people. It sounds like we were just some of the dickheads who caused the downfall of it, but we just had fun while it died =P

Yeah I've seen that. I used to do MSN comic chat back in the day, where it looked like panels of a comic strip and everyone had their own character, but it sort of died after about a year. Now I just stick to Messenger and things with people I know from outside. You get the occasional crazy asking to add you but it's easy enough to block and ignore them.
