Favorite car? (with poll this time hopefully)
What is your favorite CAR (not truck/SUV), either of all time or currently being sold.
Since there are a lot less makes than models out there, I am putting up a poll of makes. If your favorite car model is one of those makes, then select that one, otherwise just pick your fave of those listed. And of course write in comments on what your favorite car actually is. And please don't complain about there being no "other" or such-and-such make on the list. I only have 10 options to put on a poll, and obviously can't include everything, so just choose your fave of those listed. If you would select something else if it was available, put it in the comments section. Thanks. This is not meant to be divisive, just seeing what other people think.
For me, my favorite of all time is the Aston Martin Lagonda (obviously). One of the rarest cars of the last 30 years. So rare I never saw 1 in the metal till Oct 2002, even though they haven't been made since early 1990.

You forgot the Reliant Robin in your poll.
Yugo, hands down.
Hands up, as in "I give up" lol
Nissan was the last one I included actually. I took out Lotus because I noticed I had a lot of British makes in already, and had no Japanese ones.
Nissan is my favorite non-premium make,
Actually my first car (brand), my current car, my next car, and my ultimate car are each on the list, (no overlap).
Aston....mmm....DB9..

I've driven jeeps for years and can't see a need to fix what isn't broken. Used to have an MR2 and wouldn't mind getting hold of one of the new ones.

Since I can't drive, I'll have to go with the car that I bought my wife:
2005 Corvette C6 with the Z51 performance package.
It has a 6.0 liter LS2 V8 Aluminum Block
400HP @ 6000 rpm
400lb-ft of torque @ 4500rpm
0-60 in 4.2 sec
Top speed 180+mph
18mpg city with standard 6 speed transmission
28mpg highway with standard 6 speed transmission
Only car with 400 hp engine in it's class that does not receive the government gas guzzler penalty.
All of this for less then $60,000. Best bang for your buck!

You have to get them as kit cars in the US, and even then they're a bitch to get ahold of.
Volkswagen
I don't particularly like, or am not familiar with, all of the makes you listed.

I picked Lamborghini because my dream car was always a Countache (sp?)
Though when I was a kid my dad had a 1969 E-type convertible that I was totally in love with. In the range of cars I could actually afford, give me a Nissan anyday. Mine is so reliable and fun to drive even though it's a four-cylinder. Loved my two previous ones too. (One was actually far back enough to be a Datsun)

I am now and always have been a Porsche fan. I used to watch IMSA racing in my childhood when the 962s where doing, what was it? 7 straight Le Mans wins. My dad had a 356 and a 912, again when I was a kid. After I graduated high school I bought a 914 for $900 (paid too much-man that car was in bad shape). Now I drive a '67 VW Westfalia Bus. Less tickets...
They have something like 20,000 sports car victories, the first Porsche sold to the public raced the next weekend and won. They have won in every series they have entered (if they hadn't forayed into CART, and if you want to get technical F1, since thier engines won a championship but their single make in the 60s did not, they would have won a championship in every series)
17 Le Mans victories. Next closest is Ferarri with 9.
It's the watermark. There is no substitute.

Best engines in the world!
The LS1 is more efficent than any other engine out there right now - think about getting over 400HP and as much as 25Mpg at the same time. People discount US engineering - but I'm telling you - you can get a vette without spending that much more than you would on a Track Tuned 350Z, and have thrice the car. :)

Exactly, should note: this car took on a 911 Turbo, a BMW M3 SMGII, and a TT 350Z and kicked the living crap out of all three. Also, better have a look at the standing of every Le-mans race a corvette has been entered in since the C5 came out - interesting.... :)
PS: Just wait until the new Z car come out in '06 with just a shade over 500HP .... Oooooooo!!!! *drools*

Well, I have so many - so I'll just pick my favorite vette and add in my favorite COPO car just for kicks...
a Lynndale-blue, 1967 L-88 with the ZL1 aluminum block option.
or... a 1969 L-88, also with the super friggen rare ZL1 option (an engine, rated at 430 HP to scare away consumers, the real numers were in the neighborhood of 560HP - for its time theres nothing that even comes close, this was the only car that could kill Shelby's Cobras back then - and it did so very very effectively!).
Oooooooo!!!! (http://www.genesisautosales.com/dc/Corvette/1967%20Chevrolet%20Corvette%20427%20L-88.jpg)
Aaaaaa!!!!! (http://www.vetteweb.com/features/0311vet_bad69_04_z.jpg)
and for my COPO car, the infamous 1957 Belair 427 COPO.
though there is but one of these known to man, there are a fabled four left 'un-discovered'...
Scroll down until you see its mention, its an interesting story - though this is far from the complete tale (http://www.smasa.com.au/documents/archives/1996-1997/1996_americana_jan_mar.html)
I want one, well, I want the only one. :D
and just so the cars I love have a little more time in the sun... I <snipped> this from the last thread this discussion was raised in. ;)
