OTHER than Earth? (this thread is another version of the "fave planet" thread)

My fave? Look at my screen name. :D

Jupiter just appeals to me for some reason. I have no idea why.

The poll doesn't offer an "other" option. I would have to say the Saturnian moon Titan is one of the most interesting objects in the immediate solar system.

Hmm... Is it possible for a mod to modify the poll, or would it need to be deleted and replaced?

Nahh. Don't worry about it. If someone feels that strongly about it, they can do the same thing I did ... post! :D

Some would say that the Earth is our moon. But that would belittle the name of our moon, which is: the Moon.

Other: Namely, Europa.

Of course, if I had to choose from the poll list only, I'd say Uranus, because it's neat all lying on its side and everything.

actually, the biggest a star can get is to about 200 or 300 or 400 times bigger than Sol.

Favorite for asthetics is Neptune. Very pretty combinations of blue. I used a pic of Neptune as my desktop for a while, posted a pic of it in a thread here somewhere.

Favorite for interest is the Pluto/Charon double, because there is still so much we don't know about them. The fact the jury is still out on whether Pluto is even a planet just makes this pair even more interesting.

Not for another 2 million years. But it is pretty much the BIGGEST and BRIGHTEST living star in the entire galaxy.

That's going to be one bitch of a supernova and black hole. Good thing it's a bit far away.

its pretty clearly a perturbed kuiper belt object, bianaries seem common out there for some reason. also their is a whole class of KBOs called plutinos in the same basic orbital relationship with neptune.

Not quite. It needs to be 80 times bigger/more massive than it is now to even begin to be a star.
