The Bush legacy may finally and officially come to an end in the State of Texas with the announcement that Kinky Friedman will be running for Governor in 2006.

If you're not Texan, you may not know who this man is, but if you're Texan, then you have an opinion - and it's probably good.

This could be the final push that returns Texas to blue state status!

Republican, Democrat, Libertarian ... everyone loves this man. Watch out, White House! :D

You have to love anyone who runs on the slogan "Why the hell not?"

You can't change people like that, kiddo. Just because Texas might have a Democrat governor doesn't mean it is a blue state. Gov. Mitt Romney is a Republican, but Massachussetts is nowhere close to being a red state.

I may not live in Texas anymore, but I'm still one at heart. As such, I must say that Kinky Friedman is the biggest badass Texas has seen in politics (and in general, seen) in a long time and must be elected president one day.

In fact, I'm going to order some 'Lucky's Lone Star Caviar' right now.

You gotta remember, there's a difference between Southern Democrats and the whiny liberal Yankee type of Democrat. Country musicians are even less likely to be bed-wetting, tree-hugging, liberal wackos, so I think Texas is a long way from becoming a blue state.

If I could I'd vote for him. I honestly would.

I LOVE Kinky Friedman. Have for years. In spite of not being born there, he makes a great Texan. And Myrmidonisia, Kinky is an enviromentalist. Texas style.
