Ok, I'm not the biggest football fan but I feel like starting another topic for no particular reason . . . Eagles or Patriots?

I'm a die-hard Eagles fan, but...

I just think the Patriots are too good. They're clutch, not flashy, and there really are no leaks on the New England ship. I'll kroot to the death for my Eagles, but I go into this game with quiet pessimism.

*sigh....being a Philly fan has taught me to be cautious about these things, cuz they never seem to go your way.

I hope that the eagles win... talk of another dynasty sickens me.

in the last 40ish years, these are the NFL's legit dynasties:

1960s: Green Bay Packers (5 or 6 championships under Lombardi)
1970s: Pittsburgh Steelers (4 championships)
1980s: San Francisco 49ers (4 championships, counting the 1990 SB as part of the 1989 season)
1990s: Dallas Cowboys (3 championships)

Semi-dynasties could include Joe Gibbs' Redskins of the 80s/90s (think they won two or three super bowls), Shula's Dolphins (5 super bowls in about 15 years.. won two), Al Davis' Raiders (70s through the mid-80s).

Well the official bet I heard is Patriot's win by 7, so I decided to root for the Eagles to win by 7...I have to root for the underdog.

I am a life long Patriot fan and have suffered through much more losing than winning. I think that is a very nice summary of the Pats there really are no leaks at all on this team. I will not be too sad though if the Eagles manage to win Mcnabb is a superstar and a warrior and it would not be a bad thing for the Philly fans to get a superbowl victory.

Patriots all the way!!!!

Hey - I had to survive through the 80s and 90s as a Patriots fan. That was a pretty tough road until Kraft bought the team.

But I have to credit Philly too, they have a heck of a good team. Should be a good matchup.

Football is one of the most boring sports in all time!
I would rather play golf!
I only watch the super bowl to see the commercials ;)

not the eagles...

As a comitted viking fan, who every year is let down by his team in a novel way, i normally cheer for the nfc team. however, due the sickening obnoxious behaivor generally exhibited by eagle fans on sports boards, i will be cheering for the pats...i do enjoy watching a team effort, something that has become a forgotten art in professional sports. pats by 13.

uhh, i think most people would choose to play a sport rather than watching one on the couch...especially one where you can pound beers and tear around in a cart.

Please get out of the city and never show up at the Wachovia Center / Linc / Citizens Bank Park ever again. And if you do show up, you will be treated as if you were wearing an Aikman jersey in the 700 level.

(That's not intended to be serious, until you think about how TRUE fans here in Philly really are :p )

The EAGLES!!!

As long as the Eagles D can put heavy presure on Brady and slam him into the turf a couple times, it'll be all good.

I heard that there will be about 100,000 Eagles fans heading to Jacksonville for the game. Most will be tailgating outside the stadium. Die hard fans

Bucs make a comback by storming the halftime show and taking the lead!....Fine..., i also would like for eagles to win, but it seems like the odds are against them. It would be great if they could win though.

Pats. But Paul will turn the halftime show into a scandal. He's going to rip the left breast off John Maddens reavaling leather bodysuit.
