On the news just a couple of minutes ago I watched a news piece showing a U.S general saying "Its fun to shoot people" at a press conference...

What the hell is wrong with Americans and why are people like this in charge of millitary forces?

Is it just me or is America totally screwed up and power mad?

What say you Americans... Surly this worries you?

13 pages of back-and-forthing on the subject. If you'd read past page one of General you'd have seen it.

Now you have.

Sort of reminds me of Patton's blunt, coarse language. Perhaps that is his inspiration.

I think also that the comment was made with the idea in mind that the enemy in Afghanistan are a bunch of wife beaters (according to the general) and thereby deserve getting shot( ). Apparently the general enjoys the shooting...although as for myself I cannot imagine the act of killing to ever be joyous, regardless of the justification (which is also dubious).

Popinjay, do the right thing and ask the mods to lock or delete this duplicate thread. This is how these subjects end up being endlessly recycled. People have a thread already in circulation. This amounts to echo.

Please.
