That is right folks.

Apparently the Top levels of the UN broke the rules!

Here is the report:

http://www.foxnews.com/projects/pdf/interim_report.pdf

No way to deny it this time. The UN was definitely in league with Saddam Hussein.

And you can fuck off if you even think for a second I'm going to read all 246 pages of that report. Gimme a summary damnit.

I've read that report. It concludes that Benon Savan was most certainly in the wrong and discredited the UN.

It does NOT say OH TEH NOES UN IS EVIL!!!!111!

This report actually is actually highly critical of the UN, but focuses mainly on the Oil-for-food program, as that is what this report is focusing on.

The report does not say that the UN is bad, just that some practices a part of it partook in were improper, and reflected poorly on the organization.

I'm not trusting any report that has "This page is intentionally left blank" written anywhere. If the dolt doesn't know it's not blank anymore when he wrote that on it, his information most likely doesn't meet my quality standards. ;)

The oil for food program is a good idea. If Saddam was able to cheat that program, then it's obvious there needs to be more safeguards in place to stop things like that from happening.

It does critise the UN, specifically the security council's request to "minimize the cost of the United Nations activities associated with the implemenatation of Resolution 986 (1995) as well as the cost of independent inspection agents and the certified public accountants." ie. it's the security council's fault for being so miserly. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Security Council is made up of the US, the UK, France, China, Russia and others.

The recomendations made were essentially that the UN should not have cut so many costs when auditing its programs.

the scandel was that simply that Saddam was able to cheat the program, but that he was bribing people, or that people were taking bribes within the UN. Even more important is that those people taking such bribes were largely French and German companies and governmental officals as well as top UN officals.

However, i might remind you, it was the UNITED STATES blamed for the effects sanctions were having on every day Iraqi's bankrupting their society leaving people starving in the streets despite the fact sanctions where imposed by the UN and that corruption was primarily facilitated by the IRAQI, UN and FRENCH officals and buisnessmen.

Americans dont need to try to discredit the UN.. it does that so well on its own. Just look at Rwanda, and Dahfur, Bosnia, even IRAQ... the UN can't even acomplish the primiary goals it was set up for.. stoping genocide. The UN is an antiquated, inefficent body... the travesties of Dahfur and Rwanda has already striped the UN of any credit it once deserved..

Remember people,

This is only the preliminary report. It DOES NOT include Annan's or his son's role in the Scandel.

We have to wait to see what that report says but this one is damning enough! Oil For Food is finally exposed as a totally currupt piece of crap.

And all the French do in a war is drop their rifles, raise their hands, and shout in unison "Nous Rendons!" and then call the US Army to save them.

Anyways the French veto for the war in Iraq was bought ($21.5 Billion in oil vouchers. Read the Duelfer report.) by Saddam anyway.

As I've said before, all those separate instances of corruption in the UN are not indicators of major systemwide corruption. Not. At. All. [/end backbreaking sarcasm]

I love how people are so unwilling to admit that shit stinks. The U.N. is a corrupt, morally bankrupt, useless organization. They fail at stopping genocide, their top officers in South America and Africa act as Pimps of local village girls, they accept bribes out the butt. They're useless.

I saw a report on the news today that the US knew that Saddam was selling oil to Jordan and, I think it was, Seria and that this amounted to something like 60 to 80 percent more oil sold than was involved in the UN issue. Has anyone else heard this?

I think there are plenty of people here who say that Bush is an idiot.
The only reason we're not still saying it all the time is because the people who support him don't care. They think that intelligence is evil. Why do you think that so many comicbook super villans are "mad scientists?" You never see Superman (the embodiment of American patriotism) rushing to quash a bunch of violent intolerant hicks.

Yes, I'd say the only hope would be for Democratic politicians to pull their heads out of their asses, because God knows, Republican voters never will.

This really isn't law breaking, as there is no international good samaritan law, besides which with the corruption already in the program all that would have led to is the evidence of the UN's part in the whole scheme being better hidden.
